  1. I wish I would have read this one before posting about this on another thread. Because, of course, you said it better!
  2. You have to start somewhere. From day one of this off-season this has been my mantra! Fix the OL first. Nothing will ever be good about our O untill this happens. We really needed to pony up and get a good G or T in FA. Hasn't happened yet. I'm really hoping Rueben Brown proves he can get healthy for one more season and a cap cut will happen on an OT somewhere. OL needs to be our top pick, but if it shakes out that we miss out on the top 3, I don't think Otah is worth our pick. In that case, I hope we get to trade down. I wouldn't even be against trading up to ensure we get Clady or Williams. But, you know JA is not going to do that. The way these mocks are turning out, my concern is that we are not going to get maximized value on needs vs talent available. Two weeks ago it looked like we were OK to get a good LT. Now, BPA may be Mendenhall with no blockers.
  3. If that is the way the OT position plays out, I'll be depressed. It is a very likely scenario though. All in all, I have to agree with you given the options.
  4. I'd sign him to an incentive laden 1 yr deal and tell him and Benson that this year is an audition for their NFL career. In all likelyhood, if they both flop, we'll be drafting RB high next year anyway.
  5. LOL! I know, I know. I just couldn't part with the 1st rounder for Pete's sake. The Kool-aid fountain is on!
  6. Here's mine. I posted it another thread, but should've placed it here. We give AZ nexts years 2nd and 5th for Boldin. Followed by the draft 1) Chris Williams- OT 2) Chad Henne(1) or Joe Flacco(2)- QB 3) Chilo Rachal- OG 3) Matt Forte- RB 4) Owen Schmitt- FB 5) Adarious Bowman- WR Stopped at 5th round. I really don't care to see us stockpile any more defenders this draft.
  7. Do you have any charts or links to the velocity numbers? I would like to compare that to QB's over the last two decades. Just for kicks.
  8. No to Chris Brown and Shawn Alexander. I want a young guy with a little fire in his belly. I don't think a couple of laid back vets are going to push or inspire Benson, nor will they be very productive. To get through our line, it's going to take the explosion only young legs produce.
  9. Modest contract with a little frontloading should do. Not 4 mil per year.
  10. Let's pull the trigger for JA! Hell, I'll do the draft too. We give AZ nexts years 2nd and 5th for Boldin. Followed by the draft 1) Chris Williams- OT 2) Chad Henne(1) or Joe Flacco(2)- QB 3) Matt Forte- RB 3) Chilo Rachal- OG 4) Owen Schmitt- FB 5) Adarious Bowman- WR Sorry, after I blew a nut I stopped drafting. Screw defense this year. We'll just pray for Mike Brown to stay healthy.
  11. I would love to get Williams. He seems to have all the qualities of a good LOT. My fear is that he'll be gone, leaving Otah. Otah IMO is a pure ROT. Now, here's a scenario for you all. If we don't get Williams, I'd really love trading down and drafting Otah and Sam Baker. Baker translates to LOT, but has questions. Being a former lineman, I'd love to have bookend tackles pay off in the draft. We'd be set for a decade and FINALLY be able to groom a franchise QB.
  12. It shows the sad state of the Bengals. To have a player strike the head-coach, only to cover it up and say it never happened. No wonder their locker room is a mess. As a player, I would never respect that coach again. I think Brown is the owner/GM there. Kinda reminds me of the Mikey days. The Bengals will be losers until the team develops a chain or command. As of now, the inmates run the asylum.
  13. Mike Brown starting 19 games this year!
  14. They did, but that may have been after preliminary negotiations with his agent demanding too much. Let him test the waters and come back cheaper. IMO - If his shoulder is OK he has a good year left in the tank.
  15. If you think Fitzgerald will become available, you should agree with Terra Tor more often. Otherwise, please come back to the light.
  16. Dude, he's like the Dad in the stands(you know, the one with the matching mullet) of his eight year olds baseball game; yelling throw the heater, throw the heater! Or pushing his Mom over in a potato sack race because losing is unnacceptable. It would truly suck to be a fan with this perspective, knowing the season is doomed before it starts.
  17. , and then Brendon said on CSN last night that he was going to call JA today to make sure he wasn't going to offer him a deal, so I really like the statement JA has put out this year. "We will try to keep you in the fold, but don't f@*k with us!" Brendan ran his mouth in the media about how much he should get paid. JA's statement to the press??? Oh, that was the dialtone Brendans agent got. LOL! Glad Brendan got paid. Even gladder we didn't do the payin'.
  18. I think you missed the point Terra. It's not Rex V Kyle. It's the staff blindly handing the job to Rex again. Funny, yet true quote though!
  19. Is this a slip up? I can see a FA asking, "who's throwin' the rock?" Hmmm...
  20. Bullshit! I guess it's all individual opinion... You can't tell me, when we unexpectedly won the division a few years back that that was NOT a successful season and you weren't juiced for the next year. There are years when the promise of next year is a successful season. That's just they way it is in the NFL. Ask a Lions fan, if a season is successful if they make the playoffs. (That made me laugh) Sorry I said that. I will agree that last season was a huge failure. But, if we get back to the playoffs this year we should feel good about where we are heading.
  21. You have to draft offense to be truly bad at it. I simply think the philosophy they take is: Keep the pipeline fresh with young defensive talent. JA has simply ignored OL in the draft. You can't just hope to get lucky on picks in the later rounds year after year. Higher round picks need to be made, especially at OT. His lone pick under the 3rd round is a starter on a playoff caliber team. Stupid us for letting him walk.
  22. Well said, AZ54. I'm still holding out hope, that we hit the jackpot at LT.
  23. If we show interest, we are not drafting them. That's JA's way.
  24. Al Davis gets nuttier every year. It's time the NFL look into revoking his franchise. He's George Steinbrunner without a medthod.
