What do you think the 53 man roster will look like
I think AP gets cut and we keep Gaines. Otherwise, not bad. Big topic; As far as Knox is concerned; he won't make it one day on the practice squad. My guess is he gets the redshirt or makes the team. I'm leaning on redshirt, as I have not seen him do too much in TC. In OTA's he was a stud in the making. I also read somewhere that he was gaining a reputation as someone that was hesitant to go over the middle. I think he's a nice prospect, but I'll take my chances with Davis over him. This is from Chalk Talk and I happen to agree with this assessment of Davis. Mayer does have conversations and insight we are not privy to. "In a recent “Chalk Talk” you mentioned receivers Devin Hester, Earl Bennett and Rashied Davis were roster locks. With the performance of Johnny Knox in offseason workouts, the emergence of Brandon Rideau and Devin Aromashodu in training camp and the draft position of Juaquin Iglesias, wouldn’t you say that Davis is the odd man out? Rick Germany He could be the odd man out, and I’ve certainly been wrong before. But here’s why I don’t think that Rashied Davis is in jeopardy of getting cut: As I’ve mentioned before, the Bears are not going to rank all of their wide receivers and keep the best five or six. They’ll do that with their top three wideouts because those are the ones who will play most of their snaps on offense. But the fourth and fifth receivers will play primarily on special teams and therefore will be evaluated in that area of the game. To me, Rashied Davis is the best special teams player among Bears wide receivers. So I think that he’ll fill that fourth or fifth spot if he’s unable to beat out Brandon Rideau, Devin Aromashodu or someone else for the No. 3 position behind starters Devin Hester and Earl Bennett."

Rashied to make the team
Disagree. Rashied is the most experienced WR and an established special teamer. He was consistently the only reciever we had last year that could beat press coverage. He had his drops and if he doesn't get a handle on it, his career will be over next year. I personally think the Cutler ball is giving the WR's less time to think, about getting hit or dropping the ball. This year we need all the experience we can get. He has the opportunity to be a big plus for us.

Who makes the PS this year
Agreed on the 6 you think will stay. I also agree that Knox gets the redshirt IR. Kinder to the PS. You never know, we may have an injury or "other" that comes up and this may change. I read an article by Larry Mayer that talked about the 4-6 recievers needing to be good ST'ers before receivers to make the SQuad. Of course high draft picks come into play as well. You'd figure the more solid recievers like DA and Iglesias would have a leg up. I also think Rashied is a good ST. We already have enough KR/PR's so it makes me think Knox is the redshirt.

Welcome! Just remember to quote me... LOL

Dvoracek out for the year. Again.
Agreed. If he had some special talent, I would re-consider, but he has proven to be average. Time to call it over.

Just Wondering...
How do we gameplan for this week in Denver? I'm thinking the coaches throw Cutler a bone and cut loose some plays that allow him to succeed. I know Denver, it's fans and Orton are going to be jacked up for this game. It's unfortunate that this is not a regular season game, because all eyes are going to continue judging the trade. I have a feeling Hester is going to toast Champ Bailey at least once, as Hester and Cutler have missed some opportunities in the 1st 2 games.

Dungy supports Marvin Harrison to the Bears
JA and company have been known for a stubborn streak. I have a feeling if they don't see what they want to see, desparate measures wll be taken. They have too much money and have invested too much already to let the Cutler deal be a failure. I'm simply the most worried about the D. That being said, I think the O will hold it's own as the season wears on.

Marshall Still Demanding Trade
Someone close to me works for the Colts organization. The take on Marvin is that he won't let the past go. He is basically regarded as a fond memory, but has the reputation as a pissy diva who doesn't like to train.

Hester biggest sleeper?
Agree. Hester is talked about in my league as the only reciever (WR that is that the Bears have) I think he'll go to me with the 1st pick of the 7th round. I also get pts for return yards with him. I plan on taking Olsen with the 1st pick of the 5th and the Bears D/ST with the last pick of the 8th.(Bears D/ST scores well in my league format)

Cutler (not) Throwing Rashied Davis off the team?
I would actually argue that, most to all, NFL teams have the QB's input on descisions with personnel and gameplanning: Regardless of what you hear or percieve from the press. There is always going to be a "what do think about this guy" conversation occurring. Another story is, what level of input the QB has. In Cutlers case, I think it would be high, as the team and Cutler are still getting to know each other. Cutler is a 1st hand witness to how these recievers work and act off the field. He is also the person that needs to feel confident his recievers are going to interpret the correct route adjustment, as that could be the difference of a 1st down or a pick 6. He can't be worrying about that as he's dropping back. Even though I think his input is, should and will be high; I don't it's the type of high that gives the coach and GM blind faith like Peyton Manning or Tom Brady would have. Lastly, our WR's are unique in that none of them are established and most of them very raw. It places 1/2 of them on the fence. Who do we trust to place them on the correct side of the fence? I'd start with the one guy in the franchise we know is not going anywhere.

Some national media attention
I saw that yesterday. BTW - they also have a section on the most feared tacklers of all time. Our man, #51 is numero uno on the list with some very good highlights and commentary. Here you go! I loved it. http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/story?id=090...mp;confirm=true

Whats up with Graham?
I have been hoping for awhile that we would develop another safety that likes to hit. Our defense has lacked that identity as Mike Brown has deteriorated. Though Brown would lay a solid hit on you, he was never considered someone that would de-cleat you. Afalava seems to have that reputation and the burst required to deliver it. I'm rooting for him. I want that identity back.

Cutler (not) Throwing Rashied Davis off the team?
Honestly, I would be disappointed if Cutler wasn't lobbying for a say in who he is throwing to. Even though his influence may be downplayed, I would argue that his opinion weighs a lot. From what am reading, Cutler is a once in a decade talent. That needs fostered as much as possible to get maximum return. I also don't think he would risk alienating teammates by providing any recommendations. For all that remain; if it's good for Cutler, it's good for the offense. Here's something I picked up from the Bears website: And I loved it! Having Cutler push for a certain receiver to make the 53-man roster certainly won’t hurt their cause. “I think [the Bears] are definitely going to ask me,” Cutler said. “If they don’t ask me, I’m going to tell them what I think because I’ve got to be the one throwing to them on game day and I’ve got to trust them. But [offensive coordinator] Ron [Turner] and I have been on the same page since the start of training camp in what guys we wanted to see working in with me and what guys have stepped up and what direction we want to go with this group.”

Bears depth chart released
:Here are some interest parts NT Anthony Adams / Dusty Dvoracek / Marcus Harrison (3 way tie) SLB Pisa Tinoisamoa / Nick Roach / Jamar Williams Marcus Freeman (Pisa was quick to #1) LCB Trumaine McBride / Corey Graham (Tied) FS Danieal Manning Josh Bullocks Craig Steltz (Steltz 3rd string!!!!) Earl Bennett Brandon Rideau Devin Aromashodu Johnny Knox (looks like Knox may get the redshirt IR, as we have discussed) Matt Forte Kevin Jones Garrett Wolfe Adrian Peterson (AP better be a stud on ST or he's done) Greg Olsen Desmond Clark Kellen Davis Michael Gaines (With davis ahead of Gaines, we may keep 4, as we have discussed)
-
Aromashodu
It also looks like either Iglesias or Knox might get a redshirt IR. Cutler seems to like where Aromashodu is in comparison to the rooks. I think the fact he is talking the way he is might be a sign of how things are shaping up or a wake up call to the others.

Props for Kreutz
You are not alone. There is plenty of blame to go around though. 1) Lovie should have trusted his coverage unit on ST. They simply don't give up the BIG play. 2) Goes to Babich. He should over-emphsized the plan and recognized he lacked experience from the the fall guy corner. 3) Goes on the corner. Regardless of experience, he's played long enough to know how much time was on the clock. 4) Goes to Brown. Yes he should have cheated a little more than he did. No way the Falcons throw to the middle and win. Brown's main failure is what you already pointed out. He is simply done athletically. He will prove that yet again this year. The only team he could sign for was grossly inferior.
