  1. Good to see the initiative on the Offensive players part. I'm sure they are well aware of the lack of production at times and I'm sure they are just as dissatisfied with it as we are. I think we have the right people in place both players, and coaching to get the offense on track. It's going to be a work in progress, and we do have to be patient with them. It's easy to get frustrated watching the game and wanting them perform at a high level. I think the Giants game represents and opportunity to get on track and in rhythm. The Giants are an awful team right now. If we come out and blow the doors off, we'll need to temper the excitement a bit because of the opponent, but if we still look bad and either start fast,or slow then bog down till the end, I think that would be cause for concern. But if they go out there and perform well to great it can give us a glimpse of what the offense is capable when they are able to execute. I think the revenge factor is there but I'm sure it's not the main focus. The team's had two losses where they have looked bad on offense, and want to bounce back.
  2. TV shouldn't be an issue, it's in Chicago the lights will be fairly close to us as I believe 438 has 37 rows. But near midfield so can't complain at all there it will be cool to be at a historic game. We had talked about going to either this thursday's or that one but the historical significance made it an easy call. We'll just need to be sure we use the restroom before the game lol.
  3. what a wuss giving up on his team for a month, clearly reason to question his toughness and commitment /end sarcasm ....
  4. not good, a weak area continues to be depleted by injury.... should be a high priority in the draft/FA this coming offseason.
  5. a little nervous about that game watching Romo throw for over 500 yards and 48 points against a good Denver D
  6. in an offensive league we cannot be stagnant for the majority of the game and only put up 10 points till the last minutes of the game, too many waisted opportunities. The was stuck trying to keep us in this till the offense got it's head out of ist arse. If we'd have had any offense early in this game we'd have been in better shape as the D did a very good job early on keeping NO offense in check but you can only hold down their offense for so long. Simply put to state the obvious we need to produce more on offense. 10 points trough most of the game won't cut period...
  7. The Bears are undefeated in games my dad and I have attended! We'll do our best to cheer on the Bears to a win and enjoy a historic halftime ceremony honoring Da Coach
  8. he really is fun to listen to. Thanks to him we have the Willie Wonka nickname for Trestman lol It's good to see some personality on the team.
  9. 242 per, which is roughly double face and if I dug around or waited I might have been able to get them cheaper on craigslist but I should have the tickets in hand by next Friday with a guarantee that they will be legit. The way I look at it is I don't go to a game very often so I'm willing to splurge a little. Could have gotten cheaper tickets in other sections but being felt it was worth being near mid field
  10. Got seats in section 438 row 35 seats 13 & 14. Should have a great view near mid field for the game and Ditka's retirement ceremony!!! Looked at several ticket sites and I gotta say I like that StubHub lists the final cost up front. Ticket Exchange was more expensive, Vivid Seats seems to have the highest fees. Hoping for great weather and a Bears win!!!!
  11. I think Trestman will use this game as a learning tool. I think the team as a whole lost it's focus when things started going crazy. I do feel like the team got back under control in the second half but were in too deep of a hole to climb out (at least at this point in the season). We are a work in progress, If you take away that stretch in the 2nd quarter we're looking at a much different game. I think we have to keep that in perspective and not let it skew the whole game. Trestman can use this as a coaching tool to teach the team how to better deal with adversity because it will happen, and if you don't handle it well and stop the bleeding quick enough you may lose the patient. Jay's mechanics I felt changed three times in this game, he started out fine, then regressed/reverted as things got out of hand, and then got better in the second half and in particular the 4th quarter. I think there is a positive in that after the 4 turnovers Jay was able turn things around offensively and play better. There will be times when things don't go our way, but learning how to overcome adversity within a game is something that takes time, and practice.
  12. The true test is how we come out next week against a tough Saints team. If we come out, put this game behind us and come out solid and get a win. That will be big. It's not whether or not you will face adversity it's how you respond. Do you get up off the mat and come back swinging or do you wilt. Perhaps a game like this is a wake up call of sorts. This season we have flirted with losing this time it bit us.
  13. I walked away from this for bit to calm down. This one got away from us quickly in the second quarter. The team didn't quit though, valiant effort trying to come back in the 4th quarter but 24 points to make up in 1 quarter is a tall order. We lost this game in the 2nd Quarter the lions got 27 points in that quarter and a mere 13 points in the other 3. That second quarter put us way behind the eight ball in a hurry. It changed what we did on offense, and I think that drew out the old Jay forcing the ball trying to push it downfield to get points back quickly. That lead to digging the hole deeper. In the second half we outscored them 19-10 and it looked like Jay got it back under control (his play) but the damage was done. And we didn't do enough in the second half to have a chance to win. Even if you recover that onside kick you have to score again and get a conversion just to tie it. This loss is primarily on him, and I'm sure he knows it. At the start of the second half I felt there should have been more of a sense of urgency. Too little too late. This is one game, albeit a big loss as we lose the division lead via tie breaker. And have a tough game coming up next week against the Saints. At the end of the day we are still 3-1. We are still a work in progress. We need to put this one behind us and focus on NO. This was a blown opportunity to take a virtual 2 game lead in the division. Still no pass rush, we were getting held a lot though, but we cannot allow QB's to continue to just sit there all day in the pocket.
  14. I'd love to be wrong but I think this one's over. One thing of note on some of these throws... Jay had room to run for yardage but tries to gather and throw... I do believe we are better than this but we can't get any breaks today.
  15. and that's the ball game... soo pissed right now
  16. Defense is going to have to keep the Lions off the board the rest of the way for us to have a chance... not sure they can do that.
  17. Jay doesn't look sharp at all. Even on the big completions I'm finding myself holding my breath. Also agree, can't keep settling for FG's our only TD is from outside the red zone.
  18. what sucks is we were up 10-9 and moments later we're down 30-10.... I still don't think that Johnson TD was a TD he only got one foot down and they never questioned it.... The long kick off return there was block in the back not called. But this hole we're in is on Jay, cannot be that careless with the ball. We've given the Lions a huge momentum boost. Pass rush is still non existent, we know this offense will feature Bush and Johnson and we've yet to come close to containing bush. 3 and out to start the second half not good....
  19. Is there a link to download Perseverance Life Lessons Leadership Teamwork?
  20. Awesome, thanks!!! took me a little while to notice the post, I was distracted by the avatar
  21. I happened to be looking for where I could pick up a copy of Trestman's book, seems it's only sold at Amazon.com but when I go to the item page the kindle version (which I don't have a kindle) is 14.95, but the paperback version list two used from 172.20? Why is it 15 bucks as a digital book, and 172 bucks paperback? This does't seem right, does anyone know where to pick up a copy that's more realistically priced?
  22. It was crazy seeing the clock on Jay. Watching the games this season it's clear Jay has been getting it out quicker but to see the actual time from snap to throw was eye opening. For the past few years here in Chicago one thing that has been a big knock on Jay has been his propensity to hold onto to the ball too long creating sack situations and making the line issues even more obvious. The mechanics, and timing of Jay's drop, plant, read, and throw are vastly improved. They also pointed out that Trestman has him holding the ball higher and I think that helps his throwing motion to be more compact and thus quicker. His trust for the line is also apparent as he now feels comfortable stepping up into the pocket rather than allowing the outside rush to get to him. This really helps the tackles allowing them to push the defender past Jay as he steps up. Stepping up in the pocket has also helped him see running lanes better when they are there to use his feet. It'd have been interesting if in the segment where they timed his throws, to also include clips of the past few years where he was holding the ball too long. There were times when he was holding the ball past 3-5 seconds and getting plastered. Take that to those media talking heads who labeled Jay as unteachable, broken, stubborn. I think Trestman/Kromer and the new additions to the Line have been a breath of fresh air for Jay. It's one thing to keep switching from crap system to crap system and then developing a negative or pessimistic outlook. I think any of us would have appeared unteachable or damaged if we were in Jay's shoes there was no real effort in helping, protecting, or giving him weapons. We went from bad system to bad system to bad system. We finally have a system that has reason to be optimistic. I think it's more that Jay can see the light at the end of the tunnel and he's all for that.
