Hasen't always been pretty but at the end of the day we won, GB lost, and Minny Lost, and we have a chance to hand Detroit a loss next week. It's a work in progress but when you can get wins while you are working out the kinks that's just frosting on the cake. Perhaps Green Bay's deal with the Devil has run out. I know GB fans are starting to question Rodger's play in clutch situations against good teams. How funny would it be that the Great Rodger's becomes shaky when the game is on the line and our own Jay Cutler becomes Mr. Clutch. That TD drive when things got tight was clutch, starting off with the first down run where Jay decleats the DB take that people who think jay is a wuss. In the first 3 games there are things to build on, things to improve, and we're winning as we mature as a team. I like the standings 3-0 Bears 2-1 Lions 1-2 Packers 0-3 Vikings

	welcome back Peppers!
-
It is nice challenge and great catch by Bennett welcome back Earl
-
we need a TD on this drive, for once it would be nice to win leading the whole way.

I agree short 1 yard on 3rd down and we go play action, hell a dump off would have been better than a double covered Marshall. We needed to run it on 3rd and 1, run behind the rookies pick up the first down and start dictating the game again... now start of the 4th they are only down 7 and have all the momentum.

making this crappy steelers offense look like world beaters..... does help when you are allowed to hold. Bears D really needs to improve through 3 weeks we've not looked sharp other than the turnovers.
-
Davis would have tackled himself and that's if he even caught the ball lol
-
nice no call on Dwyer leading with the helmet on that last run
-
I is a thing of beauty when when there is a pick they set up blockers for a return. Not sure the receiver even knew the ball was coming.
-
That is worrisome. I'm also a little concerned that we are allowing recievers to get behind our coverage, not just today but thus far. I wonder if we are trying to hard to read the QB and jump routes that we aren't fully defending the routes.
-
no doubt and by the way like the avatar. That was a funny quote by Marty on the Jay Cutler show about Trestman being like the original Willie Wonka
-
screwed out of a TD twice on this drive Bush had to score three times before they gave us the score.... smh

I was pulling for the trifecta but the Skin's couldn't get it done. And I will say I frigging hate Kaepernick!!!! he is crapping the bed on my fantasy team But at the end of the day. A Bears win, a Packers loss, and a Vikings loss, is still a good day
-
Ok I have Kaepernick and Cutler on my roster and he's earned me a grand total of .78 points the last two games after a big first game. Is it too early to panic and give up on him. I was worried about him falling after a big rookie year just like Cam Newton did. I wish I'd have taken QB 1 round earlier and had better options. But this is the mess I have right now. My fear is that it's going to be feast or famine with Kaep. Last week I chalked it up to a bad game against a stellar D. This should have been a good matchup. Some of the QB's on the FA list: Alex Smith, EJ Manuael, Ryan Tannehill, Terelle Pryor, Carson Palmer, Christian Palmer, Jake Locker, Geno Smith, Brian Hoyer. Not exactly a who's who of the best QBs.

Not surprising that he's shell shocked, as many hits as he took in his previous years here, and how often he has had to run for his life. Being able to drop back and not have someone on you before you finish your drop is probably a strange thing and that's not something you easily shake, but I like how Long and Mills have gained his trust and as this season goes he should feel more and more comfortable back there.

Harbaugh is a prick plain and simple always enjoy seeing him lose, get mad, or not have his way.

I was a little confused on this. Correct me if I'm wrong. The first guy down on the kicking team jumps and tips it back into the field of play. However, to be downed the ball must also be touched by another member of the kicking team who's feet are in the field of play. Weems attempts to pick the ball up and run with it before that second kicking team member can get there and down it in the field of play. Weems is unable to control the ball and it goes into the end zone still needing to be downed, and any kicking team player touching the ball while it's in the end zone results in a touchback.

I have the game recorded on my computer, should be able to make a quick video of that.

The props will come for Forte, he is well known and well respected in the league but AP will get the most attention of any RB on the field that day more often then not regardless of who the Vikings are playing. He "is" their offense. Teams focus on shutting him down and daring them to beat them through the air. Forte was a guy I also highly targeted in the fantasy draft and about crapped myself when he fell to me in round 2 after taking Lynch in the first round (I had the 4th pick). A QB run pushed Forte to to the end of the 2nd round which never happened in the mocks I'd participated in. He is going to have a monster year. I felt he was largely underused last year. We've already seen him be more involved in the offense. As the season goes he'll get more props and accolades. And I agree on Bennett, watching him play the thought that keeps coming to my mind is "Davis would never have caught that. He's better than Davis by light years and he's better than Olson. Why the Giant's let him go is beyond me, but I'm glad they did and glad we have him. He has been a big part of this offense, and his presence along with Jefferies is paying dividends, teams can no longer say "We'll just shut down Marshall, As Jefferies continues to develop this offense could be tough to stop/defend.

Awesome, thanks Mad, I'll have to come prepared if we go to Ditka's. I don't expect to see him there but who knows might get lucky. It'd be awesome to meet Da Coach!

I can't imagine a team giving up much for Earl at this point but I'm game if we can get something for him. It's clear the team has moved on from him. The days of the excelling as the tallest midget in the Bears passing game have come and gone. We now have 4 guys who consistently catch the ball for us, 3 are big targets and the other being one of the better pass catching RB's in the game. It's going to be hard for Bennett to find traction in this offense, and to an extent Wilson will have that same issue. Either one is likely 5th in the pecking order. Hard to believe we actually have legit options to throw to in this offense. It is possible that a team out there struggling with WR depth or injury problems who think that Bennett can help them. When healthy Bennet is a sure handed receiver who is a good possession option with some deceptive speed. Maybe a team like NE, Jax, Cleveland, etc. might be a better situation for Earl. I like Earl and it would be nice to see him find a home where he can be part of an offense. Being on the outside looking in and settling for scraps can't be fun.

soo many good ideas here it's making me hungry lol But seriously I need to get up to Chicago more lol. We are going to the game (YAY!) we'll be taking the train from Michigan City to Chicago and back that night/morning. So we'll have one afternoon to go exploring depending on how early we arrive. So most likely one meal before the game Maybe two if we eat as soon as we get there and do some sight seeing before grabbing a bite before the game. I wish I could go to all these places lol they all look and sound so good. For this trip we might keep it somewhat simple, so it may be Geno's and or Ditka's then the game then home. All our exploring will likely be the afternoon/evening before the game. Unless we decide to stay overnight. I'll look into hotels a little bit to see if there are any affordable options. The ticket's, travel, and dining will make the trip a bit expensive as it is without adding another cost of hotel stay. I'm trying to keep the cost somewhat reasonable but still splurge enough to make it a fun memorable unique experience. With it being the night they retire #89 for Da Coach, I'm really wanting to make a stop at Ditkas, if even just for an appetizer and the atmosphere. Then explore some, and get some pizza at Geno's. Maybe it won't be as long till the next time Dad and I catch a game. Couple questions concerning Ditka's: While I don't expect to see Da Coach there, if he is there how accessible is he, is it possible to get something signed? Also getting in there for a meal or appetizer I have to imagine it is packed and will be especially busy Dec 9th with the retirement ceremony that evening. If we want to eat there I'm thinking that part of the trip will have to be planned in advance and booking a table. Thank you all so much for the info, tips, etc.

I think Trestman is more endearing to his players than it seems. After reading the yahoo article posted on another thread (great article by the way) really shows how the guy thinks, and relates to players. He seeks to be involved and aware of who his players are as men, and uses coaching as a vehicle to help them be better players, better men, better husbands, better fathers, etc. And Trestman has experienced much adversity and success that has shaped him in his own life that he can draw on to relate. The way his former players speak of him proves he is very endearing and respected. I think Lovies problem is he is too nice of a guy, and he had is favorites that he would stick with past the point that it was clear the player wasn't going to cut it. I think it's something that got worse the longer he was here. And along that line, when you as a player have only ever played for one guy, I can understand the loyalty and sense of comfort.

I was going to brign up that point, whether it's one guy, two guys or 3-6 guys. The Bengals game was a clinic on poor tackling... We often had guys in position or guys who should have been able to get into position to make the play but too often didn't look like the effort, or aggression was there to make the stop. Got sick of watching guys wiff, leave their feet to try and hit the ball carrier down, take poor angles, react slowly. This one area of not being sharp had a lot to do with Cincy sustaining long drives. That said rewatching the game the two 90+ drives both included a 40-45 yard big pass play to Green. Not that they weren't moving the ball well, but take the big plays away and perhaps some of their long drives end in FG's or Punts instead of TDs. We weren't the only team to look sloppy in this area. I have to think at least partly it has to do with CBA rules limiting contact in mini camps, training camps, etc. And many of your first string D guys play sparingly in preseason, and some don't even play in preseason saying "I/He doesn't need to play he's ready for the season. When it comes to tackling I see a lot of what looks like practice out there where you run the play full speed but then when the tackle would be made you let up. That's why it takes a couple games or so till tackling tightens up. It also could be just a bad game buy the D which we've had games from this D in the past where we couldn't seem to tackle, or get off the field on 3rd down. The filp side of this is that we've had a lot of these dumb CBA rules in the past as well and I've seen the Bears jump out the gate being stout on D and tackling hard and in numbers. So I don't feel the CBA stuff fully excuses these guys from poor tackling. Is it because we have an offensive minded head coach, and fixing the offense has been a point of emphasis throughout camp/preseason. Lovies staff was definitely defense first mentality. All in all we'll have a better idea of this team as the season progresses, and we have a larger sample size than 1 game. I'm not ready to panic on the D yet. I expect Trestman to address it as it sounds like he has in practice.
