  1. Holy shit. Mike Williams all over again. Didnt he gain a bunch of weight? He regained his form tho.
  2. good call, totally didnt think about Tice and his relationship w/ Moss
  3. I think Randy would consider the Bears w/ having Cutler and the D in place, knows the Bears could win and win now. The big question is he in the "Patriots frame of mind" or the frame of mind he was in when he went to Oakland??? Also what type of shape is he in? I would say JA would never take a look at him, it will be interesting to see if Emery will want to talk to him or just pass on him. It is going to get very interesting in the next couple of months seeing a new GM in action. I hope he has the balls to make moves that JA would not. The Pats took a chance on Moss, he was younger then but they still took a chance. They also took chances on Haynesworth and Chad Johnson. Now they did not pan out but did they hurt the team that much? I dont think they hurt the team. I wonder if Haynesworth is going to get in shape for this season. If he is in shape he has proven to be a great DT in a 4-3. He has not done anything in a 3-4. If he can be had a cheap price and in shape I would take a chance on him. If he shows up acting like a waste of space then i would cut his ass. If he is ready to play he could add to the Dline greatly!
  4. So sorry to hear, I feel for Tommy and hope he knows Bear nation is praying for him and his family
  5. Just because he is a season ticket holder and goes to all the games does not mean he knows what he is talking about when it comes to judging a good OC. Now he prolly does have a good feel about what the fanbase thinks about a OC. Like i said it takes more then one year to really get a fanbase hating you as a OC unless you are Terry Shea and it is clear you are over your head when it comes to calling a good game as an OC. Now im not saying your youtube buddy has no clue, he may be very knowlegable when it comes to football. Hell I am a season ticket holder, now i know what i do at every game and i have to tivo every game to watch it over when i am sober to really look at the game to judge what happened.
  6. Sea Passing 2010 19- With Bates 2011 22- Without Rushing 2010 31- with Bates- isnt this the year they traded for Lynch in mid season??? 2011 21- without Total Yards 2010 28- with Bates 2011 28- without Touchdowns 2010 25 2011 21 Total Scoring 2010 23 2011 23 What do these rankings tell us about the Seahawks with Bates and without???? They are about the same. So i guess we can say the OC didnt have a lot to do with the performance of the O for Sea. If the numbers looked better the year after Bates left then we could be sitting here saying Bates was in over his head as an OC but they number are very similar. Either way Bates is not here to be the OC this year. Tice is. If Tice for some reasons get a chance to be a HC again it may be nice to have Bates on staff and promote him so Cutler is not getting another complete new scheme again.
  7. Hearing from a Seahawks fan that sometimes he called a good game and sometimes he called a not so good game really means nothing. Having him say that most Seahawks fans liked him means nothing as well. We dont know why he was fired and no SEA fan does either. Bates could have pimped slapped Carrol for all we know, not likely but just saying. Maybe Carrol wanted a scapegoat for the O problems that year. Comparing Bates to the rest of our most hated OC is not really the same. Most of our OC were given more then 1 year as an OC, having a OC do stupid shit over and over again will get you a fan base that hates you. 1 year as the OC at Sea is not going to get most of the fanbase wanting your head. Im pretty sure the O problems with the Seahawks had a lot more to do with the injuries( for some reason i remmember Hasselbeck being hurt most of the year that year). What i am excited about is the fact that Cutler loved the hire. That is all i need to hear. His track record with Cutler says enough. Cutler as a second or third year Vet threw for 4,500 yards that year with no run game, Bates was the QB coach that year. He has coached under Pete Carrol and Mike Shannahan, both proven coaches. Im sure his knowledge of the game is good enough to be a good QB coach.
  8. Does anyone know when the true number will be released?? Some may not like this idea, im not sure i do either but just putting it out there. If the Bears dont resign Forte could they then go for Mario Williams and a stud WR and then draft a RB in the early rounds?? They say it is easier to find a good RB in the draft then a WR and DE that can produce early on.
  9. Do it, Do it now!!!!!! Bacardi and cola!!!
  10. Best thing i have seen on twitter is that Jay Cutler is really excited to have Bates on board. That is all I have to hear.
  11. I like what I am hearing. The Bears FO needs to add some serious fire power to the O. It will make their lives easier when bridging the gap with replacing the aging D stars we have now. If the O is good the blow will not be as bad when URl, Briggs and Peppers decline past a point of no return. It should be illegal to do what JA has done with the O the past three years since acquiring Cutler. When you have a qb that can be elite if given weapons you have to do just that GIVE CUTLER WEAPONS!!!!! As for Bowe- everyone will be interested in him. I read an article saying that KC will be franchising him if a long term deal is not signed. Here is to wishing they don’t and the bears sign him.
  12. I would think it would cost more to make Osi happy then Briggs. Briggs. Briggs has been more durable and I hope can play at a higher level for a longer time then OSI.
  13. Pretty sure Jerry Rice went to a division 1AA school(not for sure on this), oh wait where did Walter Payton go to school???? Im pretty sure that was a 1AA school. Two of the best NFL players of ALL TIME did not go to Division 1 schools. It is not about what school they went to, its all about the Player and what he can do.
  14. They talked about Adams on the score with someone down at the senior bowl, Adams is a LT and has been man handling everyone down there. The scout said Adams is a lock at LT for the next 15 years if you draft him. I really do not want to pick until i know what FA we bring in.
  15. Heard on the score today that Emery ran or had a huge role in KC drafts from Scot Pioli, KC's drafts as of late have been pretty good. Like hearing that!
  16. after reading that im all for Licht!!!!!!!
  17. Licht and Emery are the only two they are bringing in for 2nd interviews correct??? If so we should be hearing something very soon. Who would you rather have and who do you think will get the job?? For both questions you have to use Licht or Emery
  18. Thinking like a good GM, thinking about the future. You think Lovie is thinking that way?
  19. I thought the retiring thing was funny as well. Really you just got let go by the only team that would give you shot. The only reason they did that was because they couldnt get anyone else to take the job. Reminds me of a guy i fired, about a week later he tells everyone he quit
  20. i heard they are going to do this wild and crazy thing where the qb takes the ball and bootlegs to one side of the field, at that point wr's are going to run routes and flood that side of the field. now i know no one has ever seen this but its suppose to work well with a qb like Cutler!!! holy shit ohhhhh wait.......Cutler did this in Denver, now why would Martz ever do that!!!
  21. There is an an article written by Dan Pompei from the Tribune talking about Ruskell track record. I had heard all the negatives of his recent draft busts but the article goes into depth of all the good he had under his belt. I was surprised how much good there was. I dont know if Ruskell is a bad option anymore. Im looking for the article right now but the tribune website is giving me problems. Once i find it ill post it. Like i said in my earlier post, im ready to back whoever they pick.
  22. I hope they get this right. The more i think about this it is so hard to even make a judgement who would be a better hire. Now if the Bears were bringing in a bunch of guys that have GM experience that would be easier. This GM did this this GM did that, did great here but not so great here. The thing is we have no idea what true invlovement any of these guys had in making decisons on player signings and drafting. Until these guys are the ones actually pulling the trigger on FA's and drafting we will never know if they are good or not. It is a totally different ball game when you are the one in the hot seat saying this is the guy or no we need to draft this guy. Being a guy giving reports and reccomendations is a whole lot easier. I do like the idea of an up and comer rather then an older guy who has been a career scout. But look where that got Denver with McDaniels. So at this point im really ready to back whoever they hire. Hope it gets settled soon.
