I like the Floyd pick.... Hope that is not it on the WR front. I guess if the Bears made a huge play at Mario Williams and didnt sign a FA WR i would be good with that. Then the Floyd pick is great. In a perfect world Bears sign VJACK, Williams(not roy the dick freak) then draft Floyd and an Olinemen in the 2nd. 3rd go CB and whatever is best option with the last pick in the 3rd. Will that happen, dont think so. I can wish.

Zaidman tweeted the same thing -
What are your thoughts on adding him? Had 9.5 sacks last year. With as many holes that need attention I'm wondering if he can be signed without having to break the bank? Mario Williams is reported to be the Texans top priority and the Franchise tag is still an option according to their GM, so maybe Mathis is a good option to add help along the Dline. Im not saying that WR and Oline are not the most pressing needs for the Bears. Thought i should add that before someone jumps me for talking about something other then oline and wr hahaha

I thought the same thing!!! lol

So maybe the Bears FO doesnt think a GM is that important

well i just read Brianbears post in another thread! maybe Teddy is working and MLK day to boot!!! -
The coaching staff has to find a way to get Hester out in the open field with the ball in his hand. There is no reason for them not to design a play or two that opens up the field and gets him the ball with a enough room to make some moves and break a big gain! I do agree Hester is not a RB and Sproles is a different type of football player then Hester

just joking, but wtf???? are they doing anything? Have they had anyone in for an interview??? Teddy where you at???? The holiday season is over get back to work!!!

Being a little picky but it was a $380,000 Lambo not a Porshe that he wrecked. I hope he had insurance on that one!!! ouch!!!

Does anyone know what our cap space is for next year?
Chitownhustla replied to Chitownhustla's topic in Bearstalk
So which one is it, 50 or 25. There is a big differnce between those two numbers. I almost cant believe that it would 50. -
Signing Finley= all for it, he is a beast Trading up for Blackmon= i think he is going to be great(he looked amazing in that bowl game) but with Vjack out there i would rather sign him and go a different route in the 1st round I wonder what the Point of a GM is if the Bears are already making decisions on which way to go with FA and Draft??? If this is all true then a GM wont have much say or will be told this is what we are doing and now make it happen. Not sure is a GM really wants that type of situation. Or it could tell the GM that the Bears are really going to make a run at adding some serious firepower and wont have his hands tied to not spending some money and making game changing personel moves.
-
how much room is there to really go after free agents? there will be some interesting players out there.
-
his last two stops he kept his mouth shut in the media, not sure about behind closed doors. I say give him a try out.

You dont think Gronkowski would be as productive if he was on a different team?? Herandez i agree tho
-
not what he was saying yesterday
-
From my understanding the problem rises from when Papa bear passed away, the way they passed ownership to Virgina saved them the most money then and now those laws have changed so it cant be done the same way which is why the McCaskey's would be on the hook for this huge sum of money. To answer your question, if the Bears had not passed ownership to Virgina in the manner they did they would be able to do what your are saying. im pretty much trying to recite what i read about a year ago, ill search for the article to see if i can find something
-
More info about the tax problem, because there is only 11 share holders they could defer for a number of years and make payments too. The big thing is the kids can't touch any money until they sell the team so it's kind of known the kids want to cash out and have to wait until virgina passes.

Why no talk of Saints personnel people?
Chitownhustla replied to WheresMyronBaker's topic in Bearstalk
Other then the first three guys mentioned no other names have been leaked. Who knows who they are talking to. It sounds like they are not talking to anyway. Do you think the Bears wonder why no one answers the phone when they call???????? -
I hear ya, only thing that pisses me off about it is the aging D, I think we got 2 years left with URL playing at a high level. You can see this year the difference in Url speed and quickness. Maybe my thinking is wrong but why do the Bears not offer a boat load of money to bring in the best GM possible??? If Ted Phillips is really worried about being on the hot seat he should be doing something like that. This could backfire in his face. He fires JA and then can not bring in someone better and then the Bears lose next year and have to fire Lovie and crew. Maybe that makes George really clean house and fire his ass!! All this talk about George talking to Rocky Wertz (to get advice on how to turn things around) burns me out, George must not have been listening.
-
These point were said on the Score by Hub, these are things coming out of Halas Hall Ted Phillips fired JA really to get the hot seat away from himself. In Ted's presser he said he had a list of potential GM's. Word is no one is interested in the GM job, or should i say no one worth a shit is interested in even interviewing for the job. We know Mckenzie was not interested, look at his first move, Jackson fired. Tell me the Lovie rule by the Bears didnt make Mckenzie not even consider the Bears. Decosta took himself off the list. That leaves Les Snead from ATL- since his name surfaced i have not heard a thing. I wonder if the Bears reached out to him and he has already shot the Bears down??? So the Bears fire JA which i think had to happen and should have happened sooner but now that they did it they have no one that wants the job. Can you believe this shit?????????? I had hoped that the rule that Lovie is our coach next year would not keep people from wanting the GM job but i guess it is keeping guys from wanting to come to the Bears. So who is going to be the next GM??? Hub says in the Halas Hall the word is Ruskill. For a couple of reasons, 1 no one else wants it, 2 he is already on the payroll for a million and JA is owed 5 million. Ted's an accountant he thinks about things differently then football minds. So it being more cost effective to promote Ruskill wins in the end. Wishfull thinking= Ruskill learned from his mistakes in Sea and wont do them again. What i am really thinking= I hate this move with a passion Side note= I guess this whole when Virgina Dies porblem with estate tax may force the McCaskey family to sell. From what Hub said they would have to come up with 300 million in taxes to keep the team and people do not think they can do it. Does anyone else have any info on this? I have heard this a couple of times and wonder how true it is.

After watching the bowl game he played in i was amazed. It would take too much to give up to get him. Mad is right there are too many holes and too many aging players to give up that much to get Blackmon
-
Like Mad i do not see or want Briggs gone, he is too important to the team. I dont see anyone taking a gamble with Knoz either after his injury. I like moving Williams back to LT, maybe i am foolish but i think after being in the league now for a couple of years maybe he can handle the LT spot. Upgrading the G postion he would leave vacant would be key. For the WR spot i would want to do more, we cant go into next season with Bennet as the number 1. If the Bears dont get Vack or Bowe then they better go after Mario Williams. Also i would rather go WR in the first if Floyd or Jefferey were there when we pick and then go OG in the 2nd.
-
Agree!!!!!!
-
How differnt are GB's WR???? Jenning, Driver, Nelson, Jones??? Not too different so i guess it is ok to have similar WR types. You know what type of WR i want??? Good ones, I dont care if they are the same height, speed etc. as long as they are good im happy. right now we have a bunch of similar crappy wr's. Bennet being the best option and there ya go, there is your balance. Vjac, Floyd and Bennet I did miss the point of having two of the same wr types. You say it is Madden stuff, i say you are wrong, they did it in AZ, they are doing it in ATL. There are many teams over the history of the NFL that have had similar typed WR. If the Bears grab a decent OL FA and Vjack then i would be ok with taking Jeffrey or Floyd in the first round especially if they are the best option out there. By doing a Vjac and Floyd or Jeffrey combo the Bears would be done dealing with needing a WR for a long time. WE already have Bennet locked up for a long time. You have Cutler, give him weapons. Cutler, Forte, Vjack, Floyd, Davis has the making of a special O. Really at the end of the day, give me one great WR and i will shut up about O
-
How do you know your draft needs until the FA are signed. What if we don't sign forte, then rb becomes a huge need. Hopefully we take care of wr in FA.
-
Totally forgot the ATl combo, good point! I am all for upgrading the Oline as well, i guess i would be happy with at least one WR worth a shit. When you start looking at what the Bears need it does get to be depressing. WR- 2 guys but would live with one, if they are not going WR in the First then a FA pick is needed badly OL- i think one guy may do the trick with Williams and Carmi coming back healthy DT- need an upgrade CB- Need one for sure S- we need one here too RB- cant forget we still need to sign Forte still DE- need but not as big as others, if say we sign Mario Williams then maybe the DT would not be such a concern So the way i see it we need 6 new guys that can give us better production 2 wr 1 DT 1 OL 1 CB 1 S We have 4 picks in the first 3 rounds, what is the chances that all 4 give us better production??? So really the draft depends on what is done in FA. If we sign V Jack then that can really open up the options in the first round ie taking a OT instead of a WR. If we sign Mario Williams then maybe we dont have to worry about a DT or CB as much. How much cap space are the Bears going to have this year? Luckliy the new CBA keeps draft day contracts lower then before. Forte still needs to be signed. I wonder in Urlacher would redo his contract to be a smaller hit this year to help get more guys in here. You know he wants to win now! GB has done so well in the draft by drafting the best avaible, at some point we need to get to where we can draft the same way.
