  1. If we have a productive offense , I think Glennon could be close to those numbers. With Long and Grasu back, I think our OL will be a strength and add to the development of the O. If White is completely healthy, he is still player that was rated the best WR in his draft class. I think wth the development of Meridith and the additions of Wright and Wheaton, the chance for our WRs to be a strength. We have thrown a lot at the TE spot and I think we see the results. Between Sims and Shaheen, it allows Miller to have less snaps and stay healthy all year long. I think we get 100 receptions , 1100 yards, and 10 TDs out of our TEs this year which puts Glennon in the position to achieve the numbers they project for him. I think Hioward is the real deal, and you add the Tyreek Hill type of player in Cohen, to put us in a position to be one of the top 5 rushing teams in the league. I think our O surprises everyone and becomes top 10 which makes the defense better with less time on the field.
  2. I think Cleve had to draft Garrett, but were trying to move back up to grab Trubisky but Pace surprised everyone when he went to get Tribusky. No one knew what we were doing. Cudos for Pace for keeping things so quiet. I think we are farther along than most people think. I think we are one year set back in our development because this roster was in such bad shape. I think this draft will start to solidify the team and show results this year. Other than Jackson, most of this draft will need to develop but the high side of these players will start to show sometime this year. Tribusky is still at least a year away , if not two, but developing a QB is not a one year deal. Shaheen will contribute his first year. Something like 45- 480- 5. His upside will take him higher but at least will have some contributions while developing. Cohen is in place to contribute in his first year. He will not only add as a RB but I think they will line him up in the slot to get him on the field more. Not a starter but an added weapon for D coordinators to worry about. Jackson, should be a starter his first year. Morgan will need a year or two to develop which works out well with the contract of Sitton.
  3. I dont see anyway this year that Sitton gets cut. He is a quality player and he will be here one more year and maybe two depending on the development of Morgan, his replacement. I think the big question will be if Grasu is healthy and above average at OC, then I think for sake of putting the best 5 on the line , he will force Whitehair to move either to LT or RT. I think since they tried to sign a player to take Massies place, that is more likely the place either Whitehair or Long will move to. I think Leno will be secure for one more year for better or for worse.
  4. I think last years pitiful season, was mainly due to injuries. I see this year as a huge step forward. IF we stay relatively healthy. The D backfield will look insanely better with a pass rush of Hicks, Goldman, Floyd and McPhee.
  5. Wow never gave that a thought. I think putting a rookie in with Morgan would be a stretch. so if whitehair moves then Grasu is the only new guy.
  6. Here is an interesting article suggesting what the Bears do this year. What I find interesting is they have Floyd doing 14 and 1/2 sacks. Glennon has a good year. Howard is a stud. Cohen adds some offense. Meridith has a good year but I think White has more of an impact than they suggest. With the added pass rush we will have more ints that they suggest. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2709581...leaders-in-2017
  7. When praising or criticizing Pace we need to look at his plan. In the first two years, he took position players and did not draft a QB. He tried to trade up for Mariota and last year to go up and get Wentz. I would have to say both of those should turn out to be good QBs. So I think he can identify a QB when he sees one. In the three year of a rebuild , he need to get a QB to push forward with the progress, so he addressed with an urgency. I would say he identified Tribusky as his guy early but there was no guarantee he would be there at three. So he went out and grabbed the best QB available in FA.He did think in spite of getting a chance to draft Tribusky , because at 3 there is a chance he wouldn't be there. So now the draft comes and as proved out several teams are interested in moving up for QBs as that did happen. When Cleveland did not take Tribusky, the only way to control your own destiny is to move up to 2 and grab him. So the complains are he paid to much, that why would you grab Glennon if you wanted Tribusky, and Tribusky isnt a franchise QB. If you factor in the last two years instead of finding a developmental QB, he took position players. So lets say the fourth round, that is two picks we have. This year he traded back in the second and recover 2 of the draft picks he paid, so that equals itself out. Tribusky's value was all over the board by so called experts, but in the end it only matters if Pace got it right,he's the one that drafted him. I read where two AFL scouts had Tribusky as the best QB prospect to come out since Luck was drafted. Which reinforces Pace's opinion that he could become a top 10 QB. As for grabbing Glennon, he had no idea whether he could get Tribusky unless he traded for the first pick in draft, so he went out and grabbed the best QB available and basically signed him to a one year deal if he wants to get out of it. Lets say Glennon does well, and Tribusky is ready next year, I can see getting a 2nd rounder in exchange for him . If he is just average, you could still get a 3rd or 4th considering all the teams still in need of grabbing a QB for their future. So for all the criticism, if Tribusky is the guy he thinks he is, we will not remember all the critics of his decisions. The cost is minimal and we end up going back to a winning tradition.
  8. I think you will see a big jump from several players this year. Floyd, with a stronger core allowing him to stay healthier for the 16 games schedule should vault him to 10-12 sacks this year. Bullard was not ready last year for the NFL but one year of learning, gaining strength, we should see some consistence from him. Goldman should be Hicks once he stays healthy all year. Should see jumps in the second year from Bush, D. Hall and Robinson-Harris this year. Meridith should improve to be a solid #2 with a thousand yard season. White will finally prove why he was drafted so high. Just look at the development of Clowny that took off in his third year. Whitehair and Howard are just studs and will be better than last year. Grasu could stay healthy and take over the OC spot pushing Whitehair to OT or taking OG spot over and them deciding to move Long to LT. I think we are on the verge of being very good, and will show up this year in being in the running for a playoff berth.
  9. Once in a while a QB makes it that is not high profile, but in most cases, its the Dree Brees,, Brady type that land there.
  10. I think Phillips/K and Stephenson/FB have the best chance to make it. Others that may land on roster or practice squad. Coward/DT Gentry/WR Joseph/OT
  11. That is a no brainer, top of the draft is where most good QBs are found. There is an examples of the Bradys and Wilsons, but most great QBs were up at the top of the first round. This was Paces shot at finding his QB when we had the third pick in the draft. It will prove to have been a good idea or he will be fired. I admire him for doing what he thought he had to do , big balls.
  12. Some scouts are right and some wrong on players, but it is encouraging that you find some that agree with Pace on his evaluation. The proper way for this to develop is for Mitch to seat for two years and start his third year. It worked for Rodgers. Is this turns out to work out that way then that means Glennon is doing well enough and we are probably winning some games. I wish both QBs to be successful and puts us in a good spot at a position that has sucked for years and years.
  13. IM an optimist, could be Wolfe, or Sporles , or Hill.
  14. we will never know, if we didnt move up, whether Tribusky would have still been there at three, but in the end, it only matters if he turns out to be a top 10 type QB. Pace will live or die with this move, and I applaud him for having balls to go after what he believes. It was known we wanted Donald and he was taken the pick before us, if our GM at the time have some foreskin, he would have went up and got him. We will never know and it doesnt matter.
  15. There going to keep throwing darts at the board until some stick.
  16. He will have around 450 yards-5.2 per carry and 47 rec. for 644 yards and 8 TDs. I would say that would be impactful for a 4th round pick
  17. I think he has more of a Tyeek Hill stigma to him.
  18. I am not sure you can consider Meredith as boom or bust, I would say he is a developing player ready to take a step forward. Dont forget Randle , he had some moments and may be healthier than Cruz.
  19. you have a good sense of humor, Jason is vastly opinionated and sometimes I agree with him and sometimes I dont. None of our opinions really matter, it will play out to be a good draft or maybe not. Pace's other two drafts were less risky, but for me its about identifying talent and I think he can. I think the key to this draft is we dont figure in the scenario is the fact the Regime think we are closer to winning than the record indicated last year. If we were 8-8 and he took this risks, we would say he is going for the brass ring, but being in the third year of a rebuild, it looks bad to take this many risks. Being am optimistic Bear fan, I look at this and say if they turn out to be what he thought he drafted, then I am happy. If they dont then I can bad mouth him for his choices but standing here today looking at this, I choose the glass half full.
  20. the highlight films look good on these players. In the super bowl this year, 39% of teams roster were UDFAs, so it nice when you hit on these players.
  21. first of all we are loaded with big targets, inconsequentially of being a WR or TE, it is all part of the passing game. You should be more clearer when stating big body and then say #1 WR, totally different statements. The post is about a UDFA WR, so saying you were referring to a #1 WR is dumb. By the way White has always been considered a #1, but being injured has derailed his career up to the this point.
  22. I hated the draft at first but the more I looked into it the more I understand the moves Pace made. Tribusky took 50 less snaps than Carson Wentz did in his career but did not start as many games and I do not remember Philly getting beat up for that or the fact he is from a D II school. I look at Shaheen as a Jason Witten type, reliable target and red zone target. He is physically compares to Gronk, but saying he would be that player is stupid. I think Cohen gives us something we dont have a home run player in a Tryeek Hill type . Electric and will get 8 to 10 touches, not only as a RB but as a slot WR. I can see where people view this to risky of a draft but we wont know how it all plays out for 2 years.
  23. I also think Joseph has a chance to stick with probably the practice squad at first, our backup OTs arent anything to get excited about.
  24. The best drafters in the NFL has just as many misses as hits, the difference is they get enough to build a winner. Remember the smartest guy in the league signed SMC last year, how did that turn out.
