Week 10 Official Game Thread - NE @ CHI, SUN 11/10, 12PM, CHI -6.5, O/U 39.5

I dont think he drafted the wrong QB, but lots of things blowing up on this offense. Bad injuried OL, bad play calling. I hope on the no huddle offense he is not letting Caleb call those plays. If true, Flus needs to be fired when the game is over. The kid aint ready yet and this situation isnt developing him. -

Witth Booker and Kramer playing the left side(bad), quick pass or roll outs to the right. Run the ball, do not stick CW in the pocket. Is it too early to talk draft? -

Really, are we going to throw the ball 50 times against the worse team in the league? Run the ball , short passing game, roll outs? If we lose this game, you fire Waldron, Flus, and bench CW until our OL gets healthy. -

Let m rephrase that, the QB position between Waldron trying to please CW to much and CW still in the rookie stage of his game. This is all going to get better but needs to happen today. -

Im like you ,I like and want CW to be our all pro but we cant close our eyes when he plays and pretend he doesnt make mistakes. I must have watched 20 podcaste and football shows and many people bought that up. I dismissed it but the first series showed that. Another big problem is they said, that I believe true, that Waldron is calling games that give CW to much leaway to do what he wants. Its quite simple, run the ball, keep it simple for CW and dont let him play Caleb ball.(not my term) kyle Long They do it for Daniels and he is florishing -

Clearly the main problem is CW. Had time to throw, holds the ball to long. Swift was check down and open. -

31 to 12, NE (kidding) -
Lots of people saying things that are guessing. I THINK, no matter what happens, it will be after the season. I also dont think we are going to go on a 11 game losing streak. We are a better team than last yr. After 9 games, we were 2-7, after tomorrow we will be 5-4. We have a rookie QB that has had a few good games and lots of bad games. We wouldnt be blaming playing play calling if players were exectuing. This all looks bad, but I believe the Hail Mary play created a huge over reaction to everything. We are still on track to hit 9 wins which most people predicted. We still have good players on this roster. Barring lots of injuries, we can still win 9, with CW playing better maybe 10.

Allen does play out of the slot most of the time. If you go 2 TEs, one of them come off the field. DJ is playing on the outside but CW is not getting him the ball cleanly. Hard to blame DJ on this when CW has a 43% or 49% (cant find the post)miss rate throwing to him. With all the blame being thrown around, CW is the worst QB in the league over the last 2 games. Dont understand why people avoid critizing him, he deserves it. -

Its just someones opinion, doesnt mean their right. They were not good but at least showed up in the 3 game winning streak. Now injuries has made them terrible. Looks Borom/LT (bad but healthy now), guess its better than a PS call up. Jake Curhan as backup? Jenkins/LG cross your fingers he stays healthy. Kramer is the backup? Shelton/C the very average player is now the foundation of our line. Kramer Bates/RG I think he comes back now, has been practicing. Kramer or Davis as backup? Pryor/RT I think he moves here and Curhan as backup. The best think we can do is run the ball, easier for the line to adapt to NE doesnt have a lot of talent there. You can have 2 TE scheme and help chip the ends. Simplify it for Caleb, he is 8th in the league on holding the ball time, quick throws, roll him out, give him two reads or run. He clearly will be in trouble trying to make 4 reads with a lousy line. Play action if the running game is working. The only deep threat he has a connection with is Odunze, so put DJ at the Slot. His big game last yr was wihen played the slot. -
He may wait until the end of the year but the next 3 games will decide what he does. I think we agree. Just dont think he's firing him, if he does, till the end of the yr. Now if he has 5 game losing streak ( 2 already), he may have too. I think Herbert fumbled the ball his first carry with the Bengals.

Just seen a Adam Rank post that said NFL insiders told him, he was keeping Flus no matter what happens this yr. I find when people say they support a coach it is a kiss of death. I think, winning record, he stays, losing record he leaves.
-
I have just read , not verified , that he originally signed a 5 yr deal when everyone was thinking 4 yr deal. Next yr is playoff time on Poles schedule and if Flus isnt winning, they aint worring about a couple million when they probably have the right QB. Like you said speculation on almost everything, 3 more games will define this yr.
-
Everyone can be traded, but you dont get rid of your best Offensive player because of one play. He is frustraded like everyone else. CWs miss rate to him is 39.4%, worse in the league. He is one of the highest character players on the team. We will never be a winning team if you keep getting rid of good players. He was great last yr and a history of above average stats with crappy QBs. our biggest problem is a rookie QB playing bad. We looked good when we ran the ball well and CW played confortable. The OL has a big effect on everything right now with major injuries. Play calling comes into play but it will never look good if players dont exicute.
-
They talked today about signed thru 2025, but Im not sure. Poles aint going to worry about 1 yr left,r it comes down to having a winning record and developiong CW. If he doesnt win, he will be gone. Not the right question at this time with a potenial 5-4 record. Its the division strerch that will sink him.

Clearly the offense is out of sycn, Its a combination of play calling, coaching decisions, injuries are starting to jack the Ol, and CW is headed in the wrong direction. I seen where he leads the league in miss rate with WRs. 39.4 %, it just might be to DJ Moore, that's who they were talking about and they said it was one of the worse in the league. If CW plays better, the play calling looks better and we actually look like a legitmate offense. We need to run the ball, lots of first downs and CW can make a few big plays. The D now has injuries and we now have to rely on offense. -
So do you want to cut him or trade him now? He is our best offensive player.
-
When you look on his career, those are black marks for sure but its also what did that was good. Ultimately its about winning. Most people said that 9 or 10 victories would be satifactory, with 4 wins and a likely win this week gives us 5 with 8 games left. The last 2 weeks create doubt but that is still possibly. Im one of the idiots thar shot for 12 wins, playoff berth. Do we have a successful season with 9 wins and Caleb playing well at the end of the season?
-
I am not speaking to here, I dont remember what everyone wanted, Im on X. Lots of people calling for Poles to trade Herbert because we werent using him. Poles trades him and now their complaning because they didnt get enough. He had no valve ,all these dreamers that thought someone was given us a 4th or 5th round pick was unrealistic. I think it comes down to some people just complain and are never satisfied. I wanted to keep him for a depth piece, more value for a team trying to win.
