  1. I'll have to look up the stats to see that 3 yrs produces playoffs for most teams. Detroit and Texans did it but trying to find what other teams did. Houston had the advantage of trading Watson for a haul, 3 1sts a 3rd and 2 -4ths. In 2020-2021-2022 they had top 10 picks because of their record which produced a ton of high picks to help their 2023 season. We didnt have first round picks in 2019, 2020, 2022. In 2021 we draft Fields(wasted under Pace). Poles has had 3 first round picks in 3 yrs and one was Caleb. Detriot traded Stafford and have had 8 first round picks since 2019. Everything can not be viewed equal. Houston and Detroit got built using first round picks, Poles has only had 3 since he's been here and inherited a terrible roster with no cap space.
  2. If 2 and 1/2 yrs is all a new regime gets good luck with ever getting a winner. We didnt hire Harbaugh which could do that, Belichek? Do you really think the Bears would do that? Matt Nagy was the hot OC the year he got hired, 2018 he went 12-4 coach of the year. It didnt last. He won because the defense was great that year. Ryan Pace screwed up the roster and put us in cap hell with aging vets. Pace came in with a plan to make us a consistant winner. He did a complete rebuild to fix this team, his first year was never going to win. His second yr he finally had a first round pick and starting to rebuild the roster. With extra draft capital he got us to a 5-3 record at the end of the year, improvement. Then he moved on from Fields and drafted a potenial top 5 QB knowing he would have some growing pains. We would have a better record right now with Fields (IMO), he would have traded the pick for a bundle and added 4 to 5 OL and DL and our team would have performed better. He believed in Caleb and here we are but ( the most important issue was to develop Caleb). He stayed with a coach that has proven to not be good. He srewed that up, he will correct that . Caleb now is in a better position to grow with Brown, that's very obvious. So we may win a few more games but next year with good cap space and 4 top 100 picks, he will fix the trenches. Has he made mistakes yes but the arrow is pointing up. He told George give me 5 yrs, its 2 and 1/2 right now. He will be here next year and have no doubt we will be a very good team.
  3. So the OL is starting to get some consistant play. Appearance wise, the last 2 games have looked better. Every year is different but we matched up well last yr with them. Plus I heard they have a lousy record on Thursdays games, I think they have lost there last 7 games.
  4. I seen someone talking about our OL and they said Shelton is the 10th ranked C on PFF and our 2 OTs are the only team pair ranked in the top 29 OTs. Anyone have a PFF sub?
  5. Every hire can turn out bad and changing everything every 3 yrs is a bad idea. Flus will be gone AND Poles will get his 4 or 5 yrs he said it will take to make a complete rebuild work. Yes he should have got rid of Flus last yr but he seen the defense growing and we finished 5-3 with 3 losses we should have won. He figured a different OC and Caleb would put us in a winning season. Hindsight is a great perspective but he didnt have that advantage. Poles has made many mistakes, find me a first time GM that has everything go right? I think he gets 2 more yrs to do what he said he was going to do. Drafted Caleb Williams when he could have stayed with Fields and added assets on the OL and DL. We could have had more wins right now had he choose that direction. Brought in DJ Moore-Keenan Allen-Monteze Sweat-T Edmunds- TJ Edwards-D Walker-Swift-Billings, these are all core members. Missed on Nate Davis-Claypool. Added core college players Brisker- Gordon-Wright-Odunze-Sanborn-Tory Taylor-R Johnson-B Jones-Dexter. There are several 1st and 2 yr palyers that have yet to prove themselves. We have great cap space giving team friendly deals to JJ-Kmet-Sweat-DJ Moore. big misses on V Jones-Dominicic Robinson. (only counted 4th or higher). The most important key is winning and he is one year away from that. His biggest mistake was keeping Flus which affected everything else. You were right stating that last yr. He will be remembered for the huge team changing trade that ended up getting us Caleb Williams and getting us out of cap hell.
  6. True but he is not the type to give up in games. His atitude is his best asset. Could just have been a bad game.
  7. The Lions are beat up right now that could affect the game. as of today St Brown, DM, Taylor Decker, D j Reader, and Carlton Davis arent practicing. With Caleb on the rise, we should be able to stay within the 10 1/2 point spread. Im going to bet that anyways.
  8. The defense has been faultering lately but over all in the season it is still in the upper end of the league. Considering the lack of offense in many games, they showed fatige at the end of the game. Begining the yr Pickens was injured and just starting getting snaps the last few games. Sweat and Darrell Taylor have been fighting injuries most of the yr. Terrell Smith missed most of the season and Jacob Martin started the season on IR. Injuries are part of the game but only being 2 and a1/2 seasons into a complete rebuild, the roster in not up to speed yet. Kyler Gordon was out several games also. We have missed Brisker 7 games now and Billings is gone for the yr starting on Nov 7th. This two are key members that has affected our performances. After the Stevenson mishap in the Washington games, he has been going downhill, only played 25% of snaps in the last game. He'e a very talented player with immaturity issues. He'll need to start fresh next yr with a new coach to prove his worth to. Pickens came into the season with the same upgraded body as Dexter did and just is now getting up to speed. Dexter started out strong but has stuggled w/o Billings and the Sweat injuries. The defence will probably be middle of the road considering Billings is out for the yr and Brisker is out for at least more games. As far as next yr Poles will add a couple assets to line we can get back up to being a high end defense like we started out.
  9. A handful of mistakes always sinks us. We just arent good enough yet. But the QB is on the rise.
  10. That's when a veteran would have thrown it away. They had max protect called. Caleb is going to be the bomb one day but we arent good enough with our roster and definitley will be getting a new coach. You guys do realize if we were winning these games Flus would be coming back. Its a double edged sword. This game seals his fate.
  11. Lots of things to look at but that returned punt mistake was the play that sealed it for us. We are just not good enough to overcome a handful of flubs. Om the positive side CW has greatness on the horizon and didnt see anyone laying down.
  12. We come back and in overtime get the coinflip. We have momentium and Caleb holds the ball to long and takes a sack, gets us in a hole we cant climb out of. This is what rookie QBs do shows greatness and ends the game with 2 mistakes.
  13. To many small mistakes to make up for but cant deny the fight in team.
  14. As this point Im grabbing anything positive I can. Next week may be something different.
  15. I am trying to predict what Poles is going to do, I can pretend Shanahan gets fired and Poles grabs him and we live happly ever after but that is fantasy at this point.. Kingsbury was fired in 2022, and only could land a adiviory job at USC in 2023. Clearly an offensive mind but what am I missing? Johnson will be the hot name, did well with oddense but what about his HC presence? He had job offers last year but stayed with Lions. That tells me he may not think he is ready to be a HC yet. Nagy was a hot topic the yr he took the HC job and it failed. Unless you get a proven guy like Belichick or Vrabel, there is risk to any hire that after 2 yrs underperformed. Its a crap shoot.
  16. I refer to continuity as to keep Caleb in the same offense with familar faces instead of punching a ticket for a new offense and different coach to get comfortable with.
  17. The only way Flus comes back is if he goes 10-7 IMO. Im not sure if 9 wins even gets him a ticket back. Reality: Tom Brown makes the offense better and CW looks good over the rest of the year. I think Poles figures he can keep continuity Brown HC-Williams DC. A new coach would mean a start over and another coach and system that would impede Caleb's growth. Other choices are a couple former HCs with Belichick and Vrabel. Belichick brings a great resume but will want control of personal and I dont see Poles wanting to give that up. There are a bunch of offensive minded coaches available that have never been a HC and would have to prove themselfves. Kingsbury brings a failed HC job but has a good offensive mind. Will he do better this time? I like the thought of Jon Gruden. A big name that got kicked out of the NFL over an email wordage. He has gotten the ok to return to the league this year and will be happy to take whatever power a GM would give him. He's got a good head for offense and knows how to run a team.
  18. I have been off the Flus wagon for several weeks now and Im not lobbing to bring him back. Im one of the biggest dreamers in the world but Im trying to give a realistic proposal of what might happen. Who is greatness? They didnt hire Harbaugh so talking about that is a waste of time. As of now the top rookie coach is Quinn, a former fired defensive head coach . Harbaugh may be second on that list. Last years rookie HC of the year was DeMarco Ryans, a former DC. Bill Belichick is the only (greatness ) out there and will want control of personal and Poles wont be hiring him. The hotest name is Brain Flores a DC. Former HC that sued the team and NFL, reaaly doubt George would hire him. (greatness?) Mike Vrabel is a former defensive HC that had several good yrs but got fired. Good coach but probably not heading for greatness. They're several OCs available but have no idea how well they may do. Our last hire was an offensive minded coach that was at the top of most lists in 2017. I personally think Gruden would be a good hire, he still needs to prove greatness in his career. Tell me who they are going to hire to bring us greatness?
  19. What if Tom Brown fixes the offense and CW takes giant steps forward. Poles fires Flus gives the job to Brown and makes Williams the DC (which he already is) and let him run the defense. We win 2-3 games end up with the same record as last yr. We keep continuity.
  20. He has in many cases shown his inability to make the right decisions. What bothers me more than in game stuff has been his choices of coaches he is responable of bringing in. Poles has shown a lot of trust in him to sign off on these picks but Poles is a smart man and has to see his flaes. Loyalty is a good trait but we are ready to take the next step that will leave Flus behind.
  21. Where did I write I am supporting Flus to come back? He lost me a few weeks ago. I have said I think if he wins more games than he loses, Poles may bring him back. I have been talking about Gruden. I heard Cleveland may let their coach go and several people have said he is a good coach. I dont know enough about to form an opinion.
  22. This yr SF was rated to go to the SB, they are beatable. If Caleb is who we thought he was, they will be afraid to play us.
  23. You're one of the best straight up guys on this site and I totally trust you. You do your job well.
  24. Expose the person, trying to play nice doesnt accomplish anything. Exposing them probaby is ends up meaning nothing but at least if someone else knows . they will know not to get them in a different league. I recomended 2 people for this league only because I knew they aren't jack off. Now if this was 500 to get in the league I would understand someone just going over their skis getting in but its chump change with the entry fee in this league.
