I just noticed A. J. Jenkins/WR/ILL was available when I picked Adams so I change that 3rd round pick

If we dont sign anyone else but some backup roster spots, what is your draft (the first five spots) Mine is; We still need a LT, DE, CB,WR (so to make the best impact as we are constructed right now)(Walters mock draft for the topic) #1 Adams/LT/OSU He is the highest rated player on the board in our area of needs. #2 McClellin/DE/BS He was a DE in college, but most see him as an OLB, I think he stays at DE and can rush the QB #3 Joe Adams/WR/ARK He is a speed guy at 5'11" 190, can be a deep threat(Marshall as PWR)(Knox will be done and takes his spot on roster) #4 Judie/CB/ Tex AM The best of the corners left at this point. #5 Cole/OLB/NCS Will eventually be Briggs replacement
-
I agree a couple of impact players would seem to me, a better way to go, but this is his team and I will wait to see what the whole offseason brings before I sit in judgement. He got us a WR and good backup QBs. We have two many spots to fill where he had to bring back guys to add the depth.I still think we need to do something to upgrade the line, add a second tier WR, Bush would be a good addition. I wil hold judgement until he is done with everything and see what we got. So far he gets a C+.

We should always consider good football players, I think they can find it out, as to where to play them. Doesnt matter he signed somewhere else.
-
I dont consider any of them three as smurfs. 5'11", 6',6' are generally not considered that. Weems, 5'9" thats a smurf. What we need is someone that streches the field, of which Hill could do that. I think Hill would be a good pick but not at 19. He will take time to develope and we need more of an impact right away.I would prefer Wright if Floyd is not available at that spot. The problem is I think someone of more of an impact will be there ,not a WR.
-
That is a good reason to not do that.
-
They need to take the BPA at our positions at need, that is the only way we get better. OL, DE, CB,WR in that order. We shouldnt reach for any position but if you have the 25th rated player like Glenn/OG there or the 28th rated player Mercilus/DE there that is a close call as to who pickup. I think someone we dont expect will drop down to our spot and will have a suprize name there.
-
Since you and I are draftniks, in what order do you like the WRs this year? For me I think Blackmon will be good but not his first year. I think Floyd and Wright have some risks but the upside is there. As for other WRs I think Randle could have the best numbers of any rookie coming in. Hill could turn into a Sidney Rice, goods tools but doesnt really produce as we expect. I think Brian Quick could be a suprize lower round pick.
-
My intent was to draft to replace him and Williams has a bigger cap hit to free up money.I think about 2 mill.
-
I would be ok with that group. I at least think you got the position right.
-
Steve Smith the ex Giant that had great numbers before injury and maybe will be servicable now.
-
The info I got was from PFT and they say they had 12 and change before they signed Stelz and Idonije. So we could be talking about the same numbers.

I think we can say that the Bears have a game plan, and what they have did so far is clear. A #1 WR and they have Marshall. In the last 5 years they is only one WR that has more catches, Welker. Fix the backup QB spot, they now have 2 that could give us good minutes. Resign who they wanted back from our own. Ildonije, Stelz, McCown, Davis, Bell, Jennings.(I think they still may sign Okoye. They chased Mincey and didnt get him, so that tells me DE will probably be our # 1 round pick. They wont be going after Wimbley.( to much money) That they are satisfied with the Oline, but are trying for Herrera, and a 2nd or 3rd round pick at OT. They resigned Davis and will bring in a draft pick at TE. Our TE coach went to Miss pro day and worked out Egnew. At CB they are still trying to sign Hayden on the cheap, and will draft one. There wont be anymore big contract signing, people like Hayden, Herrera, Okoye, and maybe a WR at there price. I dont agree with the lack of attention for the OL but am ok for what they have did so far. I think they will still get Okoye, Hayden, Herrera, and Bush in FAgency. I also think they will sign one more WR on the cheap(S. Smith)Phil I think the draft will look like this; #1 Merculis/DE/Ill #2 Massie/OT/Miss #3 Toon/WR/Wis #4 Judie/CB/Tex AM #5 Egnew/TE/Miss #6 Messina/MLB/New Mex #7 Mitchell/FS/Ore State What I would do different. I would go after Wimbley in FA, which means will still have to cut someone to make room. Suggestions.Williams/OT, Barber/RB Would then draft according; #1 Adams/OT/Ohio S #2 T.Johnson/CB/Mont I am ok with the rest of the draft. So what we got. QB-great situtation WR-Marshall,Bennett/Toon/Smith/Weems/Hester TE-Davis, Spath,Egnew OL-Adams,Herrera,Garza,Spencer,Carmi DE-Wimbley,Peppers,Odonije CB-Tillman,Jennings,Johnson,Moore S-Conte,Wright,Stetz, Mitchell We cant fix all our problems in one offseason, but this is a start.

Well the fact it is his job to cover the Bears and he has built up relationships with people in the organization, so somebody has given him reason to believe that we arent interested. I think I may believe him over you thinking were signing everybody that breathes. We have around 10 mil left in cap space after signing Stelz, and about 4 to 5 is going to rookies, so we aint signing him for a 5 mil contract, get real.
-
Sean Jensen twetted that the Bears aren't interested in this Raider.
-
He doesnt seem to be getting attention from anybody which probably means his medical issues are more previlant than we know.
-
Another name to throw in the mix in the first round is Glenn/Geo. He can play both T and G and I have seen him listed as top 25 players in several draft info sites. We can try him at LG and if we have a problem with who is at LT we can give him a shot to do it there.
-
right on with those statements.
-
It seems to be they have a plan and I will trust that they address the OLine.
-
I would have thought that was a no brainer, but we have similar WR types. Need some more larger WRs.
-
I think my dad who died 5 years ago would be an upgrade.
-
good backup QBs cost you 3 mil and we need the insurance. As much as Cutler has been durable, one play can blow him up.
-
We just have to roll the dice and hope he realizes his potenial. I still would like them to bring a pass catching TE in the draft even if he only sees the field 30% of the time.
-
Your the only one on here that thinks we have lots of money left. I would like to say I hope your right, I have visited 10 different websites and the most I seen them list was about 26 before the signing.I am not saying they know but between all of them saying about the same money, it looks like the figures I stated for quite some time.

He takes Barbers place and if Forte holds out, someone that has carried the load before.
