4-2 is highly likely and 5-1 is possible. This team has enough talent to do that. As CW progresses we will be more dependant on him.
-
I think he goes one more week with this group and if it isnt better , I suspect we see Kramer at center and Pryor at RG until Bates gets back. Dont forget Booker will also be coming back which may be better than what we have seen so far. I read a lot and one of the biggest problems was comunications breakdowns. CW calls out the line call and Shelton lets everyone know, it was braking down all the time. CW, Waldron and Flus stated that. Mental mistakes look just as bad as phyically getting pushed around. Everything broke down against a very good defense. We see what changes and if it works. With all that said , late in the game we still had a chance to win. Every week will be like that until the offense jells.

I was being sarcastic but it was directed at everyone thinking everyone should be fired. Last year Houston lost their first 2 games, totaled 130 yds rushing and Im sure their base was complaining too. We are 1-1 with an outstanding defense and people want Waldron and Mogan fired. I just think people are over reacting. Now if in doesnt look better in the next two games, I'll be there with you guys but we could be 4-1 and still not having a good looking offense, but I expect them to play better.

We need a coach like Houstons coach that know what he's doing. Oh wait a minute, he's a defensive coach. He needs to be fired.
-
With our defense , it will keep us in games. As bad as the offense was, we had the ball at the end of the game with a chance. Considering the quality of the opponent, that's all you can ask for. The offense will absolutely grow, anything in a winning season 9+ is a positive. CW has to be a part of that or we wont make it to nine. I predicted 12-5 because I'm selfish, not that realistic. We are right where most predicted us to be 1-1. 5-1 may be to hopeful but 4-2 is very doable. Anyone look at the rest of the conference? Philly-Dallas-GB-Detroit- Rams-SF? Who's the powerhouse? By the break we will have a clear vision of what we will be. The OC will figure it out-the OL will play better ( no juggernaut) and CW will be better.
-
If we go 5-1, how many people will still want everyone fired? Its always feast or famine for Bears fans.
-
Lucas Patrick is the starting LG for NO and the OL is kicking ass. Whitehair is the starting RG for Raiders and JPJ (rookie) is backing him up. What is wrong with Kramer to OC? He cant play worst than Shelton. Bates and Kiran are one month away from helping uus. Kramer to center and Matt Pryor to RG, it cant be worse.

Stats say first round picks at any position is better with a high pick. There was no IOL worth the 9th pick. Now maybe we could have moved back and got extra assets and took Zach Frazier who has been said to be killing it at OC. There is example of OL succeeding out of the first round, just have to be smart enough to draft them. Jason Kelce was a 6th round draft pick, he got developed. Creed Humphrey was a second round pick. Lloyd Cushenberry was a 3rd round pick.

Actual the second challenge on the interception was just taking a shot at having a referee make a mistake at a critical time in the game. They screw things up all the time, what if they changed it, we might have won the game. -

AGREE , I listen when Olin talks -
Agree , they just have to continue adjusting with scheme and players inproving. We have backups Murrauy and Pryor to go too if this week looks as bad. Kiwan is a month away from probably helping us. WE DONT HAVE ANY OTHER OPTIONS

As you said we lost by 6 points on the road to a SB contender, last year the team would have been praised for putting up a good fight. Thw whole purpose of this year is to develop CW and you did see growth in that game. Quick passing , he was in rythum at the begining of the game. Then we struggled to run the ball so we were in 3rd and longer so it takes more time to throw downfield , they started blitzing. Communications problems on the oline were apparent, everyone was on a different page at times. The one sack were Kmet missed to block, he stated wasnt his assignment, he tried to block him when he seen him release. Jones blocked inside and whiffed on Anderson. Poles is building this line threw his eyes as a player. Later round good chartacter pick and develop him. He drafted an anchor in Wright plus had a 2nd round pick in Jenkins that has looked good at times. Jones is a work in progress but has shown promise. He seen something in Bates but Bates hasnt been able to stay on the field. He clearly missed on Davis and that's why paying free agents is risky. In last years draft there was no center or guard worth the 9th pick, Barton drafted at #26, JPJ pick 44, Zach Fraizer was 2nd #51. We didnt have a 2nd round pick(Sweat). Frazier and Barton sre starting and believe it or not, JPJ is a OG backup with Whitehair starting. Poles took Kiwan with the third pick, a high upside prospect, coming off an injury is the only reason he dropped to that spot. I checked out several lower picks and the only one I could see starting was OG Puni for SF. So players in the draft to help us this year wasnt really there. With him signing Davis the year before and his mother dying, he wasnt going to dump Davis on a guarrantued contract. He focused on Bated instead of singing Cusenberry( 4 yr 50 mil) or Connor Williams( coming off an injury). He has been starting in Seatle and has a 64.2 overall PFF grade. He would have helped us. Until we see Bates play regularly, Poles one big mistake was not signing Connor Williams as many on here wanted. -
If wins are the judge then Justin is doing great but everything wrong with us applies to Pitt also. They have OL issues, a new OC. The difference is they are rushing for 140 yards a game. Pitt drafted OL on 1-2-4 in the draft. In time their issues should improve, hopefully ours do too. If we dont learn how to run the ball winning wont come easy. Houston last year exceeded expections but they had 3 first round picks starting on the OL with a second and and a fourth, they had a head start over us.

2 games is a small sample size to judge a full season. The offense is a problem because of many factors and play calling is one of them. If we judge everything by 2 games then CW is a failure too but tha'ts not how you do that. Baltimore and Cinn are 0-2, SF, Detroit. Miami, and Dallas are 1-1. We need to gage this in one month from today. How does this get fixed? Waldron has to do better, the players we have on the OL has to play better because there is no calvery coming unless Bates and Kiran can get healthy soon.

We just got to see the weakness of this team. OL has a lot of issues and the play calling didnt help the line. CW has responsibility in this loss also. I only watched the highlights but almost every sack was on blitizes. It seems like some better choices on play calls would have helped the line. We should have had more max pass protects. Almost no one thought we were going into Houston and win except dreamers like me. They have held 2 teams to 3 points in the second half. Holding teams to under 20 points is always a good showing. I listen to Olin after the game and line calls also goes on CW. All of this is just a lot for a rookie. We are 1-1 and just played one of the top teams in the league on the road. Fire the coach, the OC and condemn Poles for not draftingv OL. We drafted Wright last year in the first round. (he didnt play well today) This year maybe we should have drafted the OL instead of CW, and Rome? To complete a team, Poles said he needed 4-5 yrs to do it. This is year 3. You can't add anyone to the OL in season that is going to make a difference. Our 2 strongest OLineman are Jenkins and Wright and neither of them played well today either. We have to scheme plays to help the OL. I think we need to go out and pound the ball and more play action. Bates and Kiran were part of the plan but both have injury issues. Connor Williams was the only player we could have added that might have helped and Poles didnt sigh him. -

The offense struggled and can't run the ball. The defense got us down to a one score game, probably the best we could get. -

If we can keep it a one score game maybe we have a shot, the defense has shown up in the second half. -
