This morning I was listening to the SCORE and Rosie made an interesting comment. He stated that you need to add to make the defense strong this year and not worry about replacing people that are starting to get old. They are going all in and it is just about this year and you will have to deal with the aging players next year and going forward. Also he talked to John Mullin and said that the Bears are staisfied with the OLine. Which I didnt like to hear, but hope they still add a couple of bodies to the mix if Carmi doesnt stay healthy or Webb and Williams dont pan out. I think we probably have enough in the middle if we get the OT thing figured out.

As you have stated none of them are expected to be there. Which will make it interesting because someone projected much higher will drop, as always happens in the draft.
-
You are not always realistic in your expectations but you are right on with all that you posted, except I am not that sure of Streeter. I think there are other better choices at WR.
-
It was our own pick we gave up.
-
Big stories but most excited because I think we have a GM that has a plan. Whether it is what I wanted is inmaterial. I am anxious to see where this all leads.

I agree with everything you said, but Hill would be a good addition but not at 19. We need to get the best player available to improve our team. Hill is a reach at 1 but wouldnt be at 2. The reason teams get in trouble is they draft to need. and pass on a blue chip player where ever he plays.

The basis for your argument is our two OL first round picks arent very good, so we dont draft another one doesnt hold up to well. Most of your LT positions in the NFL come in the first round. Angelo drafted them, not good for an argument . Whether Carmi is any good is still to be detemined and Williams is a swing tackle on a good team. The OL is the engine that makes the Offense work. It has to be fixed. The WR is deep in the draft this year. There are 6 OL that are good enough to be drafted in the first round and one of them should drop to us. There are only 2 to 3 WR deserving of the 19th spot. I would say 2 to 3 DEs also. We need to take the best player at that spot in those there spots. I would prefer OL, but the draft will dictate that. If Coples is there we have to take him, I would say Floyd, we got Marshall so that is not so critical but should consider it. It is unfortuante we have so many spots to fill, I fear the best player may be a DT, CB is an area of need so it could be that.
-
Who do you take if all are there Coples/DE Martin/OT Floyd.WR I would have to say Coples would be the biggest impact player at that spot.
-
They have us taking Reily Reiff in the first Cris Givens/WR -Wake Forest in the sencond and Spence/LB-Miami not so thrilled with the WR., but Reiff at 19 is great
-
hopefully we play them this year.
-
I am not as high on C. Williams as you are but definitely agree with what the OL needs are. Your spot on.
-
We just need some fresh blood on the line so if the (status quo) doesnt work out we have options, LT, OG, I would even take a high rated OC and play him at guard for a couple of years until Garza is done.
-
If you have access to watch any tapes, many times he got short armed, I am not saying he was all the time, but had to many moments to make me think the injury wont do him in.
-
Just means we found our replacement for Urlacher sooner, and make something work till next year and then dump Brian.
-
I havent read where those spots are weak? I have read that WR position is real deep, so that means you can get a good one in the 2nd or 3rd.
-
I agree since we already have the #1, we need the other positions more.
-
I cant say he is any smarter than anyone else, except its his job and I would say he didnt pick that out of the air. If he is exact, I would say he is close.
-
I dot think Knox plays anymore for the Bears. I think his injury ends his football life. He didnt like contact when he was healthy, what do you think will occur how that he has the injury on his mind.
-
The Eagles trade for D.Ryan from Houston. It was for a 4th round pick and a swap of 3rd rounders. Boy would it have been nice to see him in Chicago.
-
You are absoulutely on top of it.
-
Wallace wants 10 mil a year, where do we get the money for that. The 19th pick might be making 1.5 his first year.
-
He would give us so much more than Barber.
-
If Martin or Adams isnt there, going with a bluechip OG would be acceptable. You just cant ignore the line. It is the key to all we have to do going forward offensively. We were 7-3 but we ended up 8-8, that what we need to look at. we have enough in the mix to get by inside, it is hard to hide the outside positions without chip help. Now is the time to fix it. We still need WRs but not at the expense of fixing the OL.
-
Floyd wont be there and Hill is not a good pick at 19, the rest of the draft would be doable.
-
The panic comes into play, because if we retry what we have already done, then what? We need a couple of options if it doesnt work. First we need a LT and the first round is the one place to find it. You can find WRs any where on the board. OGs and OCs you can later in the draft. We need to bulid our offense while we have blue chip players in place. Cutler, Forte, and now Marshall.
