  1. My best case off season moves; Sign one of the two FA WR Robinson-Watkins! Make a hard play for Norwell. Make a great offer for best CB free agent in their minds. Butler etc. For me please not 25 They should be able to do two of the three and sign some of their own FA etc. For the draft; One of these 5 options should be available at 8, best option based on the above. Draft Nelson, Edmunds, Ward, Ridley, trade down. And if they can't make any trades etc. and only keep Fuller I would use that order.
  2. Letting Sitton go seems to create a problem instead of fixing one. Unless the new OL coach thought he was not fit for his style of play. Or, maybe the new staff is just going to clean house of the over 30 somethings. I'm more worried about Long and how he will hold up this year.
  3. Reminds me of an episode of The Andy Griffith Show when Barney Fife was taking Karate classes. They gave him the nick name, Chicken. Not because he was afraid, but because his bones broke so easily!
  4. League is full and that's great, sorry I threw a wrench in the process. Sounds like it will be fun. hope you all enjoy. Bill
  5. Sorry I screwed things up, but I'm good for tomorrow at 8PM central. How do I join now and pay. Just that my HVAC system is in my hall closet and it was raining from the 25 year old system getting all clogged up and spraying water everywhere in the unit. Emergency call to my air cond. guy at noon and now I'm set for a whole new system next week. And a few portable units coming tonight till they can install a the new system. God what a PITA this is.
  6. sorry if i messed up your draft but things hit the fan here and just now free
  7. I'm willing to give it a shot if you send me the info dabearski60@yahoo.com
  8. I hope I can be a last minute replacement. Things are crazy here as my HVAC system just dumped all over itself. Repair man will be here hopefully before this starts. Email is dabearski60@yahoo.com
  9. If all else fails and no one is interested I could be. I will check back later and see. I'm a last case only, but still interested.
  10. Not sure if this has been talked about. http://www.theredzone.org/BlogDescription/...on/Default.aspx One would think that his next concus will the end of his career hopefully at the most. Two months, I would think that would make anyone think. As a fan, I do not want to see him continue to play, if he ever gets another.
  11. Four things that stand out to me. 1. God he was a great LB! 2. Lance Briggs 3. Charles Tillman $. Mike Brown So to answer your question. Who's the next great Bear LB? I don't think he is on the roster at this time. And when that person is, one can only hope he has the teammates that 54 had!! As far as the last great pick overall? I would have to say yes he is. I don't see a sure fire HOF'er IMHO like 54 is on the roster at this time.
  12. Except for Goff last year. Best I can tell no other QB drafted one or two since 1971?, did not start day one? Yea, he was left hanging at that draft party. But I'm a little disappointed he took the "they said it's my team for this year?". Tell me you welcome the chance to truly compete for a starting job! Not gee. it's my team this year. And as far as the coaching goes, what if Mitchel has a great camp etc. Gee, its's not my team this year.

    Vic Fangio

http://www.chicagobears.com/news/article-1...3a-4084207301fe I'm sorry if that link does not owrk. Article about Fangio and his taskt getting all the new additions on Def. playing. I can't say it better so take a read.
  14. So when do you get one. When ever the hell you can. And this coaching staff thinks we now have one. God I hope so!! Based on the glowing report on Bears Report he is that and more after today. Kinda LOL
  15. I think every QB on that list is a Franchise QB except one. They may not of had a franchise year the year they wonbut I'll bet they made more than a few franchise plays. Or played more than a few franchise games. So yes I think you need a franchise QB, along with great play from the rest of the team. A great D can win you one and get you to a few more maybe. Hell, we a a great Special team player who almost won one for us. I still think we were a 3 plays on Of. and D away from winning that game. Anyway back to does a team need a FQB? To be truly relevent in todays NFL and win Super Bowls? Yes

    WOW

    1. 67 Year old Bear fan born on the south side, raised in Rockford, move to the west coast 30 years ago. I have bitched and griped about the lack of any Bear coverage since the 85 Super Bowl years. Turn on any sports talk or anything to do with the NFL and your lucky to even get a recap of games during the season. The best way of course to change that is start winning again. But since the draft every time I turn on any sports programing talking about the NFL DaBears are topic A. It's nice to at least get some info on the Bears other than sites that are Bear related. So for at least the rest of this week I finally get my fill of Bear talk on a national level. I guess any press is good press when you don't live in the Chicago area. 2. If any of these 5 picks become more than just average NFL players, maybe a pro bowl or two, real playmaker type players, not only will that be great but Pace may then be thought of as one of the better GM's. 3. How nice it would be to see half a dozen or more national games on our sched. and not be fearful of getting creamed on the two or three we may get now. I think pace has made some good moves since he has been here given what he started with. I kinda understand his plan, but this draft just seems to be so out there and dependent on a QB viewed by so many to not be that guy. And on other picks, that while they did dominate at their level while in college, they must now jump up two levels.
  17. Not only is it hard to find anyone who thinks the Bears made a good trade. One of my favorite NFL people, Bill Polian had to hold his laughter when he heard the trade. Most pundits are not good at calling BS because the need their contacts etc. But Mr. Polian also said that if you look at the player ratings right after the College season ends, that is the closest and best basis for judging talent when you look back at drafted players a few years later. And I don't think anyone had a first round grade on any of these GB's at the end of the college season. From the combine on most of the ratings are just hype and BS. I call him mister because he has forgotten more about Football since he woke up this morning they I will ever know. Same with another person I like at Landryfootball.com

    WTF

This draft was a sellers draft at the top. I have not heard or read one pundit who thinks the Bears made the right move. When the pick was read both networks were speechless. The combine ended before Pace got Glennen. They had the entire season to watch tape on all the QB's and the combine before signing Glennen. I'm sorry but this looks like a panic move made in the last few days. They should of been the one who got something for nothing. The only two teams who got better with this trade and pick are the niner's they got our picks, and the Browns from making the same mistake we made. 2nd worst trade in draft history behind DaCoach and Ricky. IMHO

    WTF

I'm in off the ledge only to see if Cleveland trades for Mitchel before I jump!!
  20. "Pace said that “there’s a long time” before games begin, and that the Bears want to be careful in how they build up the rookie’s cardiovascular abilities. Not that White is thrilled." Seems like an a lot of nothing being said for just a shin injury. No report I can find on what the injury is, why it's taken over six weeks to heal? He had to stay off his feet all that time. And a GM saying "there's a long time before games begin". Thats a first and I bet last time I ever hear that phrase used. Not the player I wanted to see miss a lot of training camp!
  21. Would of been 61 today. Still my all time favorite football player!
  22. Yea, I know pretty simple. Picks must perform. But I don't see how they over thought any picks. Just a half dozen long term college starters who are smart and love the game. Throw in a few Grabowskis and a pretty boy. Hopefully six future Bears football players.
  23. For this draft to be an upgrade from past drafts. Pick 1. A no brainer once Cooper and Williams were gone. However, anything less then a B. Marshall career will turn what could be a great pick into just another Bears failure at first round WR's. 2. Filled the biggest need on D with a better be starter day one. Meaning he will start on first downs and running downs first year. Will rotate with a few others but should be our Wilfork for the next ten years or another bust. 3. A mild manner Krutz. He won't punch out team mates only opposing tackles. May start year one or learn for a year then a ten year anchor. Same as Goldman. 4. Not sure. A younger cheaper Forte? Not as the only back but sharing the load with another back or two. Just don't see Forte here after this year for the price he wants. 5. and 6. Both need to be starters in two or three years. Amos must be a good special teamer to make the team first year. Fabuluje at best will be a practice player for a year or two.
  24. BPA seems to fit that. Williams was my pick after cooper and scherff were gone. White should also do a great job on bubble screens which are big now. No one on this team last year could take it to the house after the catch like he can. I also was not a big trade down. Would of been happy with Sheldon.
  25. mondonico

    What if

If those players are gone. I am really thinking about Schreff. I keep reading about Long at sometime moving to Tackle. Why wait? Draft Schreff, move long to R or L tackle. Move Bushrod or keep him at LT. Groom one of the backups for center next year and I thing we would have a great OL with most of them under 27. Would be set for a five year run at least. And be ready for what ever happens at QB before it changes, making that transition much easier. I want a can't miss pick (yea I know) that will come in on day one and start and would be a cornerstone for the next ten years. Any of the other draft picks seem to have something that at seven just does not make me happy.
