  1. This is something I wondered. Would bears make a quiet and quick push for a big name vet. If they don’t like what it looks like than they stay put.
  2. Does he really - I just don’t believe Chargers ownership with do it.
  3. Same thing I said about Fields. Flus is okay and I give him fair credit and I root for him, but he isn’t good enough and I’m not tying a new qb to him unless the Bears go with a vet qb.
  4. They haven’t beat any good teams. I respect Flus but football is a tough life and given a reset at qb (if they go that way), you got to reset the coach. Conspiracy theory - Is poles buddying up with players more him making sure the guys know him and he gets em so they know the GM has their back when a new coach ultimately comes in???
  5. I agree. Bring a Leslie Frazier as the DC and get an offensive minded head coach. I still say go pay Harbaugh.
  6. Wasn’t arguing - more stating - Love isn’t tier 1 and Fields is worse. Why we would build around Justin when we have multiple assets to improve the position puzzles me (not saying you are saying that - just my 2 cents). I personally am still in the camp - if we go with a new qb, we need to bring in a new coach. Unless they go sign Cousins or something like that. Oh and I’m not saying the qb has to be at 1-1, maybe they do it at 1-3 or wherever. And I’m still fine with drafting an early one and sticking with Fields and making them earn it (probably better for that to be a 2nd rounder though if they go that route).
  7. Bryce can read defenses twice as good as Fields.
  8. Yet he is better than Justin.
  9. Yet he is better than Justin.
  10. He can’t read defenses. Anyone that runs a zone heavy scheme clobbers him. And he looked awful and slow yet again.
  11. Eye test - he was throwing times and making plays with his arm. And when it mattered most he played incredible. And Texans receivers were all hurt but Nico and they still were able to do enough. Some make excuses - some turn lemons into lemonade.
  12. It’s been three years. No excuses was my mantra to start the season and I finish it the same way. Point blank - he’s a likeable dude but he is NOT good enough. In no scenario should they move forward with him as our starter. He can’t beat you with his arm and his style doesn’t make other better. He is not a multiplier.
  13. I’ll tell you what…I watch Stroud play and think, Bears don’t have a qb like that. How can anyone watch Fields and see someone like Stroud. And it isn’t like the Texans were some loaded team. Some like excuses, but elite qbs make everyone around them better. I don’t think Justin makes anyone better - but I do admit he has elite physical attributes. In my mind, to win and ask sustainably win, you need a guy like that.
  14. I do think if they traded with Raiders for example - you should get 2 future firsts plus.
  15. The bears also benefit from trading for a haul in sense that you will have a few high picks who are cheap which make up for paying a qb.
  16. I also think Fields will benefit a ton from having two explosive wideouts. Just think about how much harder it will be to stop Fields from running or making big plays with his arms when defenses have to watch out for a more dynamic receiving corps. Shoot trade down and draft Marvin plus Brockers (or an LT) and than take a te in 2nd round (if you go lt in first) or even take a 2nd wideout given the draft. Go center and defense rest of draft and spend money on dline and resigning JJ.
  17. Yeah I was very impressed with him today. Was throwing guys open and precise.
  18. So if they win than Bears still have a shot next week? Also did we 100 percent for sure lock up #1 overall?
  19. Im not huge on Penix but I would be 100 percent good with this.
  20. For the record - if we stick with Fields, we better trade the top pick for another haul and keep building up the squad and get at least one future first. I have long said nothing would irritate me more than staying at one and taking a non qb. I just don’t like it - even as incredible as Harrison Jr might be…you don’t win super bowls because you have a great wideout (but they are really important).
  21. https://www.nfl.com/news/panthers-pick-up-qb-sam-darnold-fifth-year-option#:~:text=Carolina had until May 3,fully guaranteed upon being exercised.
  22. No. When the Panthers acquired the Sam Darnold from Jets - they acquired him and than elected the option.
  23. They would absolutely elect it - presume they would do it right after trading for him (it is just after draft when you have to elect it).
