Maybe if the other team isn't playing physical the whole time, you call those offensive PI. But given the way the game was being played and the amount of contact they were allowing, 2 of the 3 (at a minimum) should not have been offensive PI. They missed the one that should have been. When you watch in slow motion, its hard for me to say that Jeffrey had an advantage due to the shoving. Either way the impression (in fast vision) made things look much worse then they were and that is on Drake. He's got to coach them better.

I agree, however, that won't happen with Lovie here (and Lovie doesn't deserve to have the right to hire another OC). I think if the Bears make a hire, they should be hiring an offensive coach. Ideally I'd keep Marinelli, but I doubt he'd stay.

I will say this. This team has some playmakers. I like Forte, Marshall, and Jeffrey. On top of it, Cutler can make plays (he hasn't been great though; average at best). Need a good system and execution. TE, a speed wideout in the slot, and oline are huge priorities. On defense, got to get younger. Not many major need areas (other then LB and you can always get better dline/cb's). Really I am disgusted because this team should be a playoff team and they should be able to win a playoff game. They have just been too stupid and I think the coaches have to be blamed for that. Arians would be a solid hire but I have a hard time hiring an inexperienced coach. I think this team could and should win and that means I want a coach that I know can do that. Cowher is fine (but it won't happen; he wants to be GM). Payton and Reid are the next best choices. If Lovie stays, I hope he hires Ron's brother, Norv, but we know that won't happen. I'd also be fine with Cam Cameron as an OC.

He needs to go. CLearly Tice isn't the answer and you can't let him hire another OC. It sucks cause I really have no problem with Lovie but at some point a change has to be made. Lovie had opportunity after opportunity to hire the right OC and failed miserably in his task. And the most recent search ended up being a complete failure. The Bears offense does so many stupid things that cost drives. Its pathetic. And despite the bad line, for once, it isn't due to talent. This offense has playmakers. It has some pieces of crap too (see Hester, Devin and Davis, Kellen) plus most of the oline.

He should. The poor execution is disgusting. Its time to clean house. And to be honest, Cutler has one more year and then its time for him to go too. At some point, shut up and play and produce when you need to. I realize he got screwed and lost yards and td's due to some awful officiating (Jeffrey got screwed) but whatever. He also missed some plays and made some bad reads (including the pick where Hester ran the wrong way; either way it was an awful read). Bears need to throw the dough at Reid or Payton.

Actually, it sounds to me like it has a lot to do with coaching. Wade Phillips is one of the best DC's of all time. Dom is one of the better of the last 15 years too.

I realize the Packers D will light up the Bears next Sunday, but there D isn't very good. There are plenty of bad 3-4 d's out there too (it isn't just some magical d that works all the time). Its all about getting good personnel.

Urlacher wasn't very good this year so unless he finds the fountain of youth, I don't anticipate him getting significantly better. I wouldn't call him bad (this year), but he's been nothing other then mediocre. In fact, I really don't think (outside of leadership), there is a huge downgrade with Urlacher out. That isn't to say I think Nick Roach is good, cause he's not.

Not sure how you can say Cutler didn't play well. He should have had 3 TD's at a minimum and 1 pick (which was on him). He got rid of the ball quickly, made good reads, etc. Missed a couple passes but if you take away the umteen drops, he's got a lot of yardage, td's, etc. What really irks me is that the team drives the ball and then gets stupid penalty. Outside of the dropped TD's, there were situations in which they should have had points but took themselves out (or had to punt because Gould was out).

Its real simple. They either win and get in the playoffs, in which case he stays, or they don't get in, in which case he goes.

What were you watching. Had Alshon not fallen its either a completion or an incomplete. Even the other pick, he threw to an open guy, just floated it (and that is on him). He made good, quick reads. Not much more he can do when they are dropping everything.

I've said for a long long time that they are garbage and it is holding up. Two straight weeks where the Bears incompetence cost them big-time. 3 dropped td passes in 2 games and then Alshon slipping was very costly. Cutler had 1 pick (and really about 2 bad throws). He did his job.

Coming from the guy who always wants to go for the kill, I find it shocking you weren't for the move and aren't aware of all the saber stats out there which completely unequivocally call this a no-brainer.. Staticians have shown that 4th and short early in the game is a complete and utter statistical no brainer of a move. Chip Kelly uses it with regularity at Oregon and Belliceck uses it often in New England. They've seen the data and anlaysis and know that not going for it leaves more points on the table then kicking the field goal in that situation. Nother story if it is final few minutes of the game or the FG ties it, but at that point in the game, that was absolutely the right decision.

The play calling was very good today. Bears had a lot of quick passes and took advantage of them. They did leave points on the board but that was due to execution (dropped TD by a concussed Bennett and not getting the job down on 4th and short). And thats a 4th down I tip my cap to the Bears for going for it. They have a back that was signed for short yardage and he has been excellent all year in it. From a statistical perspective, its a no brainer to go for it and the Bears just didn't execute that time.

Injuries are just mounting up. Oline down, wide receivers down, starting MLB down, Tillman slowed with ankle injury and now Jennings out for a while.

I doubt Sims Walker would make much of an impact and long-term he isn't an answer. Bears have to hope Alshon develops as they don't have anyone else on the roster capable of being a #2. Bennett has taken major steps back this year (not sure why but he isn't getting targets and I'm assuming its because he's not open) while Hester is what he is (and he's not going to be a Bear at the end of the year).

This is a need position. I think teams have realized you can give the Bears fits with a running QB (this was never previously the case). Now maybe we just didn't have much film on Colin and weren't prepared for Russel to run this much, but two teams have exploited that kind of QB option on us. And it is hard to say that Seattle exploited it, given that they had very few points up until the final 2 drives of the game, but dang, to let them go 2 straight TD drives (one being 97 yards), its just pathetic. Wilson was fantastic in those drives though so I definitely tip my cap. He made some plays but I don't know what the heck the Bears line was doing. It was like they didn't know how to do a contained rush.
