The Bears will win or lose this game. The offense will need to move the ball and protect the football and if our oline plays solid (our oline solid, not normal oline solid) than we will win this game, imo. If not, we'll be in trouble. Key to our defense will be to stop the run and get some pressure on Hassel early. Rattle him early and he won't be able to get into a rhythm against us. The tough part is, Hassel is good at quick releases and it makes it difficult to get to him. He had all day last time these two teams met. Lets go Bears!!!

Definitely agree with you on this! Although, I don't really think of Jay as a prick. Too bad the Chicago media and the media in general is horrendous and runs everything off of some ugly stereotype. They don't like him because he doesn't like doing interviews. Big deal.

Score was reporting that he's going to look at Ron Turner.

I'll be driving up to Oakland.

I didn't misunderstand anything. We could win the superbowl and you would still complain about the Bears. Its just what you've turned into under this current administration. You've given up on any objectivity as of this point in time and are just going to solely and regularly bash the Bears. They can't do much anything good in your eyes. That is just my perspective. In no way am I questionion your loyalty to the Bears. I know you, like everyone else on this board bleed navy and orange and that you want nothing more than to win super bowl after super bowl and your goal is for our organization to be the Patriots. And there is nothing wrong with that. I just tend to have a different view of what is successful and I think by and large this regime has been relatively sucessful and this season has been a sucessful one.

Yep, year end is hitting me starting next week. Bears playoff games are what I look forward to break the lull of auditing, haha.

People forget that earlier in the season it was Taylor and not Forte running the ball more effectively. Forte has picked it up and Taylor has definitely struggled but he's also had a hard time finding some creases.

TOo much debit and credits and not enough Beardowns in your day to day, haha

Bears sign Mannelly, Toeaina to contract extensions

The problem is it doesn't look like there will be many olineman that grade out as first rounders. If a good DT is there, which is our second biggest need (3rd biggest is CB), 4th is WR, than I think you take that DT if he grades out. You than draft a guard in round 2 or maybe spend more money on a free agent olineman like Mankins. -
What a shock, losing one of the best linebackers in the NFL over the past 20 years would make our defense worse.

Vick didn't rape the Bears. The Bears absolutely shut down the best offense in the NFL. They had a huge lead and the Eagles couldn't muster any big play. There is a reason why every team in the NFL is using the Bears game plan against the Eagles too. The Jets did whoop us, no denying that. But as a whole, you look at who this defense has went up against and outside of the Jets game I believe the defense has held the offense to worse numbers than they were averaging as a whole. And its by a decent amount in most instances. That tells me we got a pretty good defense. Is it perfect, no. Can it be beaten, certainly. We have holes just like every other team has holes and if you make mistakes and don't generate the QB it will struggle. But by and large it has gotten to the QB and forced pressure without excessive blitzes and is a top 5 defense in this league. There really isn't any debate that this is a top 5 defense. Your expectations are delusional. I know we all would love to have the best offense and defense in the history of the world at the same time, but no team is perfect. The Bears have been far better than most and they probably won't go to the superbowl. I'm pretty happy as a fan that we've made it to this point. I'm hoping to win a playoff game but if not, oh well, I still chalk this up as a sucessful season given what my expectations were entering the year. That said, like always, I'll be cheering like hell for them to win the superbowl!!

Eh, I'm fine playing Caleb Hanie or whomever. Packers might be dangerous, but if they arent in, than the Giants probably would be in and they are equally as dangerous (I can't forget what they did to the Bears). Now is the time to ensure that our guys are healthy a couple weeks from now when our post-season starts!!! At that point, the Bears are goign to have to beat good teams to continue to move on. Lets go Bears, surprise me and go deep and maybe even win that Lombardi!!!
-
I don't see how you can make the comparison. This would be the third time in his coaching tenure that he led the Bears to the playoffs. One of those years, he led them to the superbowl. I'd say he is a heck of a lot better than Jauron and is probably one of the more underappreciated head coaches in the league.

The nice thing is our defense improved in the 2nd half. Still had some breakdowns though. But I fully believe the field conditions seriously prevented our pass rush from getting the push necessary in that New England game.
-
No denying that our offense has been improving each and every week. Hopefully it continues to improve and Jay continues to get better!!!
-
Not really. We lost in the super bowl because the Colts ran down our throats. Manning was mediocre in the super bowl and it was a joke he won the MVP.
-
We state that, but in the year the Bears made the super bowl, the cover 2 defense did an excellent job against a nice New Orleans west coast attack led by Drew Brees.

Belated Xmas wishes and happy holidays to everyone here!!!

I allow a defense that has played as one of the best in football to have 2 bad games in a season. You overreact to everything.
-
His best plan is to sit on the bench, if Webb struggles and they fall behind, he says, I'll give it a go. If he fails, they say, oh wow, he tried, if he succeeds, he retires with a very strong PR related story.
-
Regardless, it is time for the players to shut up and worry about the game. Like CUtler said, if he'll play wherever you ask him too. He'd prefer a safe football field, but if it is a parking lot or an ice hard field, so be it. Kick some ass Bears!!!
-
I think he will play.
-
Favre may or may not be playing, either way, the Bears better bring there A game and get this stupid stadium issue out of there heads. Kick some ass and play good football. Lets clinch Baby!!!
-
And I could honestly care less, since those have been our best games of the season, sans last weeks disaster. Jay spreads the ball around so if Olsen is getting open, he'll get the ball. Olsen has been a much improved blocker (outside of last week) though.

Just an FYI gents, our cover 2 is dependent on a pass rush. In snow it is damn near impossible to generate much of a pass rush against a team running quick passes. In hindsight we should have blitzed a ton but that isn't the Bears style. Play the game in different conditions and it might be a different game. Either way, I tip my cap to to the Pats. They are a great freakin football team. But you know what, the Pats once got their asses kicked by the Browns and it didn't end there season and I'm not writing off the Bears because of one bad loss. Shit happens.
