Bears draft Sam Roush, TE at 69
I agree - in these cases if your board hasn’t lined up move down (or move up and get someone who you like who can start).

Bears draft Sam Roush, TE at 69
I should be clear - I think they have drafted 3 good football players and I’m very pleased with first 2 picks…I just would have went another way here. Ben is former TE coach and he is an offensive guru - clearly this pick is him and he has a plan…again not what I’d do but I do think we have 3 guys who will be solid football players. I would have preferred Hill who would have been a starting linebacker for this team and not had done the trade for the 5th rounder.

Best Available Day 2
Take a risk on the Tennessee db.

Bears draft Sam Roush, TE at 69
He’s a good football player but this is stupid.

Bears trade 60 for 69 (3rd) and 144 (5th)
Wideout or DB is my guess
-
Round 2, Pick 57, Logan Jones, C
He’s real talented. Hopefully he pairs with Caleb for a long time

Best Available Day 2
Jones is going to be a good one I think.

Bummer Jacas went right before

Best Available Day 2
With where board looks - Jacas and a LB or DB looks pretty good.

Get 2 of those 3 and I would be stoked.

I would be okay taking a flyer on McCoy. Elite talent - pending ACL recovery. Jacas there, Anthony Hill too.

In fairness if McDonald is there they take him - let him plug the run for years. Should have some good options to add 2 more good football players in round 2 and hopefully another one in round 3.

I think we see WR and DB…maybe DT. I think they see Shemar as a pick this year (since he barely got to play) and same with Ayo (injury return and DA admitted he realized he didn’t use him right) plus they want Booker to get playing time. Not saying any of them are elite but I think we will move down with one of the 2 picks and than tackle those spots and grab a center too. LB is a wildcard for me.

- Pick #25: Bears select Dylan Thieneman, S, Oregon
I thought there was no chance he would be there. Dude is a baller and if Gordon and JJ and Smith can get healthy this secondary will be a lot better than a year ago.- Official Draft Day Thread: Round 1 @ 7PM Central
Can’t argue that - dude is a baller.- Official Draft Day Thread: Round 1 @ 7PM Central
Going to be interesting to see what they do…- Official Draft Day Thread: Round 1 @ 7PM Central
He has tools. I’m guessing my Utah LT won’t be there. I think bears might move up a few. Simpson to Rams was a surprise.- Official Draft Day Thread: Round 1 @ 7PM Central
The Giants grabbed another DE - that means one of Burns / Thibodeaux is on the block. Burns would be quite interesting. 28 coming off a 16.5 sack season.- Official Draft Day Thread: Round 1 @ 7PM Central
Interesting - was a wideout projected to go that early? I wonder if that means 1 or 2 more go in round 1 than previously thought...that wouldn't be a bad thing necessarily for the Bears...- Time to make your prediction: What position / player do Bears grab with their 1st pick?
This is why I have the Bears not investing in the dline and instead oline, secondary and a wideout. I think more value in the draft there and the team needs to be patient. On the line I think guys are getting overvalued and people are squinting and hoping. In general I do think there is a lot of quality in this depth, but not a ton of blue chippers - but also the quality on the line after the first efw drops off a lot (and than there are a lot of solid guys - but with limited upside).- Time to make your prediction: What position / player do Bears grab with their 1st pick?
The more I've thought about it, Mesidor is on my don't draft list. I just can't buy into a 25 year old and really understand our level of intelligence and ability to effectively scout what was beccause he's had that much more time for his development. I don't see anything explosive around his measurables - etc. He was a dominant college player though.- Final Mock Drafts...
I would be pretty happy with your top 2. Those are two guys I like - I don't love Banks at 25 (but love him in 2nd round) and on Faulk I am guessing he won't be there but I think he's going to be a good player...maybe can develop into a Montez type of guy. I don't see him as elite - but a very good end is not a bad thing. If we got Faulk at 25 I would be perfectly content.- Official Draft Day Thread: Round 1 @ 7PM Central
Alright - lets this be a draft we look back on as one that built upon the initial foundation to send this franchise to sustained excellence! Lets go!- Time to make your prediction: What position / player do Bears grab with their 1st pick?
Which is where is Trapillo a great bridge guy who can slide out and give versatility but he ends up after he gets healthy sliding into a guard spot and become a mauler for whomever he replaces. I'm really digging the idea of the Utah LT if we can get him and Bears see him growing into a top 10 type of LT. Getting that type of value out of 25 on the long-run on a rookie deal would be huge. And to be honest - I think this upcoming year is going to be hard, probably a bit of a pull back (harder schedule / less turnovers / and D can't turn on a dime)...so I really want to make sure they are focusing on the long haul. It is why another player I like a lot with one of the 2nd round picks is the Louisville wideout who is coming back from the ACL injury. I think like Luther - he's a guy you go get knowing when you get to tail end of the season you have another high-upside guy and are getting a Top 20 talent with one of our 2nd round picks. I also think with what we are trying to do offensively, using the Moore pick on a young cheap receiver with upside is a good thing. With the other 2nd rounder - I think I might move back and get 2 picks and go with a safety, db and dlinemen with the other 3 picks. Basically put - WR/ LT, Safety, Dline, and DB are where I go. I may be punting on Dline a bit - back to my concept of take a step back - because the value of the draft just might not be there this year and I don't think we are superbowl ready anyway. I also think we'll have a lot more cap space next year and we'll have gotten to see if Booker can take a step forward. I do think there are some really intriguing safeties if we hold off to round 2 / round 3 at that spot and the IU DB looks pretty good. No idea if we could pull it off - my dream draft: 1st Utah LT 2nd IU DB or Tennessee DB 2nd Kyle Louis (safety) or Trevon Sykes 2nd Chis Bell (Wideout - ACL Injury) Dline or Center 3rd Dline or Center with our next pick - Pick #25: Bears select Dylan Thieneman, S, Oregon
