By the way - I don’t know who Vrabel wants - but say what you want about Josh McDaniels, but I would love Vrabel and McDaniels. McDaniels isn’t getting another head coaching gig and is just 48. He looked good with Brady but also with Mac Jones (Jones turned into a pumpkin as soon as McDaniels left) and the same was true with Matt Cassel that year Brady was hurt. Dabol would also be acceptable - and all would be very different personalities than any coach bears have had in 20 plus years.

In past I would say that - now I feel like maybe Warren picks best of both and you can shift the power structure slightly. Not saying it’s perfect but it would be different than what they have done in past and that structure certainly had worked for other orgs.

And the Bengals job - as Bears4ever said - getting to coach Joe is a clear winner.

I’m confused - Patriots just hired their head coach last year. If they wanted Vrabel they could have hired him a year ago and they chose another route - I can’t see them moving on after one year. I think Cowboys would be the competition for Vrabel.

Honestly - I think they are just all emotionally spent and see the writing on the wall. I think effort is there but at this point the coaching staff is so thin on both sides and there is so little you can do to change a whole playbook - combine that with a brutal schedule and just the weight of this loosing streak and you really can’t get to the end of the season fast enough.

I agree - built a better oline, give him improved coaching, plus just an offseason of work to learn and I expect we see major growth. But at this point - I’d rather see them start over - new GM and HC.

He’s not in a good spot and he is partly responsible for that but Poles and this staff is also highly responsible for it.

Absolutely not - they need to fix both lines - but priority 1 has to be the oline.

I agree with you - my short list is Vrabel or Johnson - I lean to Vrabel but wouldn't complain with either.

I officially endorse this - let Warren make the decision and reset this. Poles is just as much a part of this mess.

My view is - if there isn't a BPA at the need in the trenches, unless someone is way up, than you move on down in the draft. I will caveat I do think an upgrade at running back would be very useful (but not talking about a FRP).

I’m not getting cute - I’m signing a big time olinen and than drafting 2 more…or I am signing Khalil Mack on a short term deal and drafting an OT and OG and and a tackle but I’m not messing around with the trenches. I’m adding 2 top 2 round (or big money free agents) to oline and dline. Push Braxton and Kiran to fight for other roles and really get strong interior and invest.

Carolina is not moving away from Young. He has improved a ton this season since his benching.

I think he gets hammered for the sacks - that is my presumption. There were also dropped balls - I think Moore had one early in the game - instead of 3rd and short its 3rd and long. Little things but go a long way. I'm presuming some of the sacks though he is getting his QBR hammered on. Or maybe the pick that went through the hands early in the game counts as a pick in QBR? But it all gets pretty subjective.

I think he is in an impossible position. Flus had put together a staff with little depth and Brown was able to step up but having him be this much up leaves everything else barren.

I don’t want some 10 person search. Due your diligenc3 over next few weeks and narrow it down to 4-5 candidates. No more than that. My no doubt four candidates are outlined below. Brown could fall off the list if the rest of this season is a total dumpster fire. Brown - If he does well, by all means Ben Johnson - Would think he is the front runner. Kingsbury - Smart and great work with Daniel’s. Question is what did he learn from his first stint failures. Knows Caleb well. Vrabel - My personal choice. If Bears don’t interview him it will send off a signal to me that they aren’t taking it serious. He is a hard ass - but demands respect and did excellent with a meh qb in Tannehill. Had identified Arthur Smith and generally seems to know how to find good coordinators. He is my top choice, but he is the exact guy Bears wouldn’t hire in the past cause he is going to put up with no nonsense. Wildcard - Gruden / Shanny / McDaniel / Browns HC.

Would be great to see them get a win.

I am good with any of the names you had - plus I would include Vrabel in there. My dark horse is they make a huge play for Shanny.

I heard opposite - he was pretty high on Caleb. But I agree he won’t be coming. Vrabel could though and he was pretty good in Tennessee.

In hindsight - Nagy was probably a pretty good head coach. He made playoffs twice in his 4 year run with Trubisky who was clearly not that good. If you have him Caleb I think he would have crushed it.

I think if they shore up the interior and make it a strength - than Jones plays up. He is a good, not great LT. Build a strong interior and Wright and Jones ends up a pretty good tackle combo (imo). This could allow you to go dline and than take 2 guards in 2nd round.

Brown is interim head coach. I want him focused on offense but it is clear he is the coach the players trust and believe in so I get it from that logic.
