  1. The guy was an all around stud, but the question would be whether he'll ever regain that athletic ability. If he still had it right now, you wouldn't think he'd be having this much trouble landing a 2nd gig. That said, I still say I'd take a flier on him, especially after reading how Bradley is only expected to take about 30 snaps the first 2-4 weeks of the season.
  2. Understandable. Stuff happens and we've closed the thread so it can end and we don't get any told you so's or anything like that. I'm sure we are all happy about that nice 1-0 START, now lets play good against the Lions
  3. The guy has a motor. I hope he stays healthy for a long time because he has the ability to be one of the premiere tackles of this decade.
  4. The Lions are the 2nd best team in the division IMO, that said, if the Bears play well they should win. Of course there is no guarantee that happens and if I were a Lion fan I'd be really pumped up that for once the players seem confident and cocky enough to go out and predict a win.
  5. Both the Giants and Cowboys lost. These are two teams that will likely be in the thick of the playoff race the entire year and its always a good thing when teams you are competing with for the playoffs (even though I fully expect us to win the division) lose. We also saw the Seahawks suffer a scare and well we will be playing the team that gave them the scare (Detroit) in our home opener. The Cardinals were solid in a win and may be a contender, while the Saints Reggie Bush had a monster day and there offense really looked pretty strong (they got quite a few weapons). You also had the Panthers (it seems like everyone's super bowl pick) losing in the first week to the Falcons so my week 1 power rankings would have the Bears as the top dog followed closely by the Seahawks.
  6. I hated NBC in the preseason but thus far I'm really enjoying the product they are putting out there. The half time show was very good and Madden/Michaels while not the very best in the league, its still very very enjoyable to listen to. In fact, they sound better together than they did during Monday night. Now if only Eli can find a way to get the Giants the lead.
  7. Hester has some vision and he had two pretty damn good returns, one of which got us a TD!!!!
  8. Tremendous win. Our defense played well and Sexy Rexy looked fantastic, aside from that one horrible ball into the end zone (I can only hope he was trying to throw it long out of the end zone but because of the pressure wasn't able to get enough on the throw). Mush was absolutely the man, thats what we paid for, he made big catch after big catch and showed why prior to last season many thought he had the best hands in football (aside from Jimmy Smith). Clark also had a monster game, McKie looked good and our run blocking was pretty solid as well.
  9. Man, I now remember why I hate when the Bears play afternoon games, it means I'm stuck at home (cause I don't go to the bar for the whole day, but maybe I should) and get the shit Rams games and than a freaking Saints/Browns game (why, I have no idea).
  10. Gardner wouldn't be bad, but I guess we'll know a little more about our WR core later today. Hopefully they can have a healthy game and season.
  11. I have no doubt that we took Carolina lightly. Our coaches and players both did so and they showed there ignorance by assuming that we (unlike any other team in the league) could somehow just single cover Smith. We went in talking a ton of smack and didn't back any of it up on the field. I seriously think our team expected to blow them out just because we kicked there butts in the regular season and well, they learned what could be a valuable lesson and thats that the level of play in the postseason is elevated and you got to bring everything and leave it all out on the field. I never would have expected our defense to be what let us down and in that game, thats exactly what happened. I hope that our young team learned from that and will come back this season with a chip on there shoulder and do what it takes to get into the playoffs and from there they'll be play better and better and harder and harder and make some serious noise in the playoffs.
  12. Shoot, its been a while Prep, hope all is well and hopefully were all celebrating a Bears and Sox win tomorrow
  13. I'm just bummed that next week I'm gonna miss my first Bears game of a couple years (aside from last week's final regular season game, in which I took the weekend off) because I'm going to be on a plane heading somewhere for work. Than week 3 I got to find a bar in Dallas to watch the Bears game and probably will have to hear crap from a bunch of lousy Cowpoke fans. So I'm gonna make sure I enjoy this one and hopefully the Bears won't dissapoint.
  14. Its a shocker, I see a lot of experts picking us to lose or be the dissapointing team of the season and quite frankly I like it. I don't want the Bears getting cocky, afterall they got cocky when they played Carolina and we know what happened than.
  15. I can't wait. Lets kick some ass Chicago. However, don't be mistaken, this will be a tough game. GB's fans will be pumped, Favre will be pumped and lets just remember when the Bears and Packers play you can throw the records out the window.
  16. Oh man I can't wait for this. Its gonna cap what has been a hella busy week and basically kick off what will be a new page in my life (start my career the next day).
  17. It has to be about Watts visiting Halas Hall.
  18. He ran a sub 4.5 at the combine so I din't know how he'd be considered "slow".
  19. Ya, we probably could slip Currie onto the practice squad. I don't think we'd be able to put Watts on the pratice squad cause I'd have to imagine someone will give him a roster spot.
  20. If he's brought in, I wonder if he'll replace Gage or Currie.
  21. He fell out of love in Denver and was cutt, but this guy was a 2004 2nd round draft pick who has had some success at the NFL level. Apparently he fell out of love in Denver because he dropped a wide open TD pass that cost them a game at some point last year. He's not perfect, but he ran a 4.49 40 and is considered a pretty good athlete and is 6-2. In his rookie season he had 385 yards and than last year he only had 2 receptions. Apparently it appears we are his first choice cause he thinks he'll have a good opportunity here and it seems like the Bears are pretty interested in his services as well. This is according to KFFL.
  22. I think a lot of people underestimate Gage. While he isn't great, he has solid hands and is a very good blocker. I just don't think he's special, however, in the right situation I still think he could be a very good jump ball WR.
