  1. Cardinals, 49ers, Falcons, Steelers, and Dolphins Falcons going with Piterno from Louisville
  2. I would rather have no chains being moved and the other team starting at their 20 then a pick and having the other team start at our 40.
  3. that makes it so much damn funnier.
  4. are you by any chance possessed by a demon?
  5. that would be the lowest offensive scoring superbowl in years. I voted for lose in the Superbowl. But that can all change depending on the way they play. If Da Bears back from week's 1-4 come back, watch out!
  6. I'm not too worried about Rivera leaving. I want him to stay, but Lovie has a lot to do with the D, and I think Babich can step in nicely for Rivera, as he knows the system as well as anyone.
  7. We should pretend to be dolphin fans, and make constant phone calls (pretending to be a different person each time, of course) to dolphin management, and say they should hire Turner. They did say they are looking for "our" opinion
  8. It sounds lame, but 5 of those INT's game vs. the Bengals, and take away that game, he only had 8 picks. And if you ask me, 13 picks for a 4th round rookie who never got to learn behind any veteran QB and was forced into the job his rookie season is pretty damn good. And I would rather see a punt then a pick, because at least in punts you don't lose field position.
  9. Hey, Dolphins are interviewing Ron Turner also, I think. I hope they hire him, and Rivera returns.
  10. It was also stupid of him to fess up. It sounds like he is trying to make excuses for his suckage.
  11. Isn't that a little contradictory? Your saying it is okay for the team to help out Grossman but not Orton? Orton minimized the turnovers which helped the defense get more rest. He didn't go out there throwing an interception or dropping a snap every other series.
  12. Yes, I agree with that, but you don't do that after just 3 years. You have to wait longer then that.
  13. Hopefully the Cards will go with a guy more offensive oriented for their HC, since they do have all those tools on offense.
  14. I don't like any player comming into a game unprepared, and with other things on their mind, but Grossman should be the last person to do that. He isn't exactly John Elway.
  15. For the Bears to win in the playoffs, and get to the Superbowl, 3 things need to happen (in order of importance)... 1.) Defense stepping up and being the turnover machines we saw earlier in the season. I think with everyone rested, healthy, and going back to the Cover 2, the pass D will be much better. RMJ is a good nickle back, but he is god awful at corner. Todd Johnson will help out with the run support and Boone and Scott in the middle of the line will help stuff the run. Chris Harris, Tank Johnson, and Mark Anderson comming in on 3rd down/passing situations will also help out the rush. And Tank might even start in the playoffs. Also, with the Cover 2 comming back, I think we can expect the old D. Manning. He has struggled and hit a rookie wall these past couple of weeks, but that is expected from someone who went to a school like Abeline.2.) Running, Play Action, and Dump Off Passes! NO TURNOVERS!We have to be able to run the ball effectively and control the clock. Running the ball will open up the PA pass, and that is when we go down field. And when we do need to pass, hit Berrian on the slant, or McKie in the flat, or Moose with the post, or Clark with the curl. No need to go for the homerun every play. Also (THIS SPECIALLY APLIES TO REX!), do not stare down your recievers, look around the whole field for a reciever, don't make up your mind where you want to throw before the play even starts. I think if Benson and Jones can combine for 150 yards and a couple TD's and if whoever the QB is get us within FG range once in a while and maybe even gets a TD without consistantly turning the ball over, we will be fine. 14-21 points should be expected with hopefully another 7 added by the Defense or Special Teams.3.) Special Teams and Field Position. We need the old Robbie Gould and Devin Hester. Gould will hopefully become gold once again, as he did struggle for the final few games, but did look good in Detroit. I think when Hester is primarily doing returns again, and not worring about playing CB he will have a few good returns. Hopefully he will be more rested and have more of a burst. Also, we do not need the Brad Maynard from last years playoffs punting. If you remember, last year Maynard had a stinker vs. Carolina in the playoffs. We need Maynard to punt like he has all year. Kick/punt coverage has been very good all season but has seemed to weaken the past couple of weeks. Field position is very important to winning in the playoffs. If all 3 of these things happen, which they can and should, we should easily make it to the Superbowl and even win it. Call me crazy, but this team was by far the best team in the whole NFL a while ago, and still could be, but weak QB play and injuries have really taken a toll. GO BEARS!
  16. I want someone from San Diego to be our OC. But I doubt we would go into 08 with 2 new cordinators, since Rivera is as good as gone, IMO. I think Bob Babich (was practically promised the job if/when Rivera leaves) will take over just fine for Rivera when he leaves. Lovie Smith is gonna stay though. And I hope teams decide not to offer Rivera a HC job and shy away from him because of lack of offensive knowledge/coaching, but I doubt it. I think we can expect Lovie to be the HC, Babich being the DC, and Turner being the OC next season.
  17. I say bring back Kyle. I am serious. He won't turn the ball over (usually), and with him at QB Turner will have to run the ball.
  18. 1. Cowboys - Warm weather team, inexperienced QB, and gimped into the playoffs (but so did we ). 2. Seahawks - beat them once, and are really banged up. Also gimped into the playoffs. 3. Giants - Scarey team if they get hot...
  19. Right now the only thing I am worried about is the QB situation. Defense did look out of sorts, but I think it will be fine once Peanut comes back, and the coaching staff goes back to the cover 2 primarily. But geez, the QB situation is really worring me. The specialists on offense are playing well, and Benson had a great performance. I was hoping that Griese could come in and do half-way-decent, but he didn't do much better then Grossman. Now if Grossman bombs durring the playoffs, we have to rely on Griese. I hope this was just a one night thing for Griese, but this is not a rare occurance by Grossman. Hell, I am all for Kyle Orton or Brad Maynard if it means they won't turn the ball over.
  20. The field wasn't the cause for the lose... poor QB was.
  21. This isn't good... Defense has been decent, have allowed only 7 points. The pass defense has been iffy though. RMJ getting beat by some no name reciever? RMJ is a good nickle back and all, but he is pitiful as a starter. Offense is doing fine except for the QB. Benson running good and hard, but Grossman. WTF is up with him. Does he not want to win a Super Bowl? 3 Interceptions (2 for TD's), and a dropped snap. Yikes All I can say is if Grossman plays like this in the playoffs, we will be one and done once again. Lets see what the Bears can do in the second half.
  22. Packers already dead and out of the playoffs... Now, lets piss on their grave tonight!
