I'm not going to lie, the Giants scare me. They are a very talented team, but collapsed in the second half of the season. If they get rolling, they would be a tough opponent. I like the Bears chances vs. the Eagles and Seahawks. Cowboys and Giants are the two teams I rather not see the Bears face.

Just for the record, I wanted the Bears to draft Ryans last year...
-
145 tackles for a rookie is amazing. I'd give it to Ryans, hands down.
-
yeah, that ^^^

Since some people won't be here to discuss the game because of new years eve, get your posts out of the way now! My prediction... Da Bears, 572 The Pukers, -128 The Pukers get their playoff hopes crushed, and the Bears set a record breaking 93 safteys! And Happy New Year!!! (morning after)

Am I the only one who doesn't give two sh*ts about what so called "experts" think?
-
They usually do announce it about a week or two early, I don't know why they waited to the last minute for this one.
-
yay! Now I have something to do New Year's Eve!!!

I haven't heard anything about this, but It could be a good idea. If the Packers want to have a chance to make the playoffs, they have to win. And it is a great rivarly game between the Pack and Bears, and remember what Lovie's no. 1 goal was, to beat the Packers.

A little food for the draft a TE in the first round06 crowd...
BearSox replied to southsider2k5's topic in Soldier Field
Joe Newton looks like a future bear TE. But I highly doubt a TE is drafted first day unless someone falls to the second or third... -
Aw geez, can someone fix my title please. Make it Eve, not Ever...

It seems most starters are going to play at least a half. But anyone role player with any trpe of injury will not even suit up though. Heck, even if we put the C-Team out there, we'd still have a good shot to win! Go Bears!

How can you say that? Right now Mike Vick is working alone on the offense. Last week vs. the Cowboys, he had a very good passing game. But his defense didn't step up. And the one game vs. the Saints, not one of his recievers could have caught a pass. I believe it was Roddy White right at the endzone, wide open, hits him in the hands, and he drops it. Yes, Michael Vick gets bailed out a lot by Dunn and Crumpler, but isn't that their jobs? To help out the QB and make plays? Imagine if Grossman wasn't saved by the defense and special teams several times this season. Right now the Bears would probably be something like 8-6.
-
Vick would probably be having a pretty sick season if he had some wide recievers who could catch.
-
A month for Tank would be a 6 months to a year for anyone else, and Tank would probably get special treatment in jail anyway. Famous people always get reduced terms. I just don't see how he can avoid jail this time, ever a couple of days, for his probation violation.
-
I think he might get about a month during the offseason for the probation violation...
-
I'd take Temple's football team over the Lions...
-
you beat me to it...
-
He has had a shakey past couple of games. But, isn't he still the top scoring kicker?
-
I feel like a huge jerk an idiot now, as it appears he had the guns registered in Arizona, where he has a residence, but not here in Illinois. Good to know Tank isn't as much of a THUG I thought he was, and that he will be back! Me = stupid Also, good idea of closing the other thread.
-
I'm actually surprised Farve didn't make it. He is having a pretty decent season, to be honest. And I thought the fans would vote him in because this could be his last year and such...
-
Oh, another important thing to note, 3 special teamers making the pro-bowl roster. And you could argue that Brad Maynard should be the punter. I guess that tells you how good this teams special teams are! Neither of them really deserved it. NFC Roster AFC Roster

Congratulations to Devin Hester, Olin Kreutz, Brian Urlacher, Lance Briggs, Tommie Harris, Brendon Ayanbadejo, and Robbie Gould on all being voted to the probowl! Someone should pin this to show how much we support the players who make our Sundays worth while! Also, special congratulations to Hester, Ayanbadejo, and Gould being voted to their first probowls!

Manning is only a rookie, and only going to get better. Yes, he has made a few rookie mistakes, but all rookies make mistakes. Look at Devin Hester, a prime example of a rookie making mistakes. I personally think D. Manning is going to turn into a top FS in the league. Right now, a future SS is needed first day. But it all depends on how Lovie and Angelo feel about Brown, Harris, Johnson, and the draft prospects comming out this year. Ricky Manning is the nickle back. He is one of the best nickle backs in the game. He isn't that good of a starter though. He is tolerable as a starter, but not great. And Vasher and Tillman are both very good corners, and neither of them are FA's until after 07, and when 07 comes around, one of them will be resigned and the other probably franchised tagged. And Vasher's price tag justed dropped as he didn't make the pro-bowl this year. And I think Hester has a ton of potential at CB. Right now, CB is not a glaring need. Maybe a project guy if he falls in the second day, but thats it. You can't blame the secondary for having a bad game when 2 starters and one of the starters backup were out because of injury. Right now, the teams needs in the first day of the draft is future OL, a future SS, a big possesion reciever (someone like 6'5"), LB if Briggs leaves, and possibly DT depending on how the Tank Johnson soap oprea plays out in the offseason.

I agree. If Tank does one more stupid thing, his ass is out of Chicago for good. Like you said, lets hope the death of someone he really cared about will make him straighten up.
