  1. Well, other then the Bears I don't follow offensive lineman much. But from what I heard, Steinbach is one of the better in the league. Probably the best Oline in free agency this offseason. But he will demand a pretty big sized contract, and that could cause a problem with the cap, since Briggs, Vasher, Tillman, Grossman, and Harris will all be free agents soon enough...
  2. (KFFL) Bears | Steinbach could have interest in joining team Wed, 31 Jan 2007 07:31:32 -0800 David Haugh, of the Chicago Tribune, reports a league source has indicated that Cincinnati Bengals OG Eric Steinbach, who is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in March, will show interest in signing with the Bears this offseason. (foxsports) Eric Steinbach - #65 - Guard - 6'6" - 290lbs News: The Bengals and free agent offensive lineman Eric Steinbach are expected to begin contract talks in the coming days. Impact: Steinbach is said to be Cincinnati's top offseason priority, but is sure to visit Chicago and Cleveland if a deal can't be reached. The Bills have also been mentioned as possible suitors for the versatile Steinbach. (Sat. Jan 27, 2007) ----------------------------------- Steinbach is one of the better guards out there. Ruben Brown is a free agent and might not be worth resigning and he might retire, and I am not sold on Metcalf as a starter but more a backup OG-C swingman type. Steinbach will sign a pretty big contract, but he does want to play for the Bears appearently. There won't be a chance of resiging Briggs if we go after Steinbach though.
  3. The Sox ring is awesome. And all of the Bulls championship rings are also very good. The bears should hire Reinsdorf's wife as the ring designer if we win.
  4. You dink it is gonna be dat close?
  5. I agree. Now a days a lot of professional athletes seem to be big mouth jerks. But then every once in a while you get a moma's boy like Vasher
  6. "jinxes" are for cubs and red sox fans...
  7. Fred Miller being the most noticeable one. He will most likely be gone after next season, IMO. But, I really do want to keep Ruben Brown for another season or two.
  8. I know the Bears are going to have around 20 million in cap in the offseason.
  9. Techmo Super Bowl Prediction
  10. Tommie Harris and Nathan Vasher/Vasher, and possibly Grossman are the guys we have to keep cap for though. Sadly enough, we can't go all out for Briggs.
  11. "My dick is this big" I think I took it a little too far
  12. Bearrssss 212, Colts 3. BUT, Brian Urlacher will be held to less then 20 sacks.
  13. I don't see how you couldn't franchise him. Keep him for one more season while Jamar Williams gets some more experience to be able to step into the starting role after briggs leaves.
  14. Ditka just made up that thing where he said he didn't care who won in the NFC Championship. He was just pyscicing out the Saints into thinking he was their side.
  15. If I am correct, this is how it would work. We franchise Briggs and give him the right to work out a trade and contract with a team. If an agreement is reached between the two teams and Briggs, I don't think there would be any cap hit. Like there wasn't a cap hit for the Jets in the Abraham trade.
  16. Franchise and trade him. He wouldn't mind it that bad since he does like Chicago. Basically, we would franchise him, and let him work out a deal with a team, just like with Abraham and Branch.
  17. BearSox (in heavy chicago accent): Hello, and welcome to another addition of TalkBears Superfans! I am your host BearSox, and we are here to talk about the Bears Superbowl run. Any predictions for the Superbowl fellas? (just ad lib it as we go. Make it seem like the old SNL skits)
  18. I don't know. I would love to keep Briggs, but can we do it at a reasonable price? I would offer him a 5 year 25-30 million contract with a big signing bonus. But chances are some team is going to offer him a huge contract and he will bolt. If we can't resign him, I would hope for a sign and trade thingie. Like the Jon Abraham situation last offseason and similar to the Deion Branch situation earlier in the season . I think we could get a late first/early second in such a trade. Hell, maybe even a trade with the colts for their first.

    Rex Grossman

    you're just jealous
  20. Awesome! He defiently deserves it, along with Tait. Brown has been a beast these past 2 seasons, and I hope he is resigned.
  21. There is nothing better then going to the ballpark and watching a baseball game. But that is because baseball is more of a slow sport, and easier to pick up everything. But for football, it is fast pace and there are more players on a field at the same time with different players switching in and out. You need a nice close up view, and tivo to rewatch the plays

    Rex Grossman

I personally am not a fan of Rex Grossman and I don't see him as a franchise QB, but he does get the job down, usually.
  23. 56 inch, HD... better then being at the actual game.
  24. I am going to overdose on downers just so I can sleep for 7 days straight and when I get up it will be superbowl sunday!!! Da Bears!
