Post all the updates here. Make individual threads for Bears news.- My Free Agent Guesses
In the first 72 hours of FA, King Poles will sign Dre'Mont Jones, McGlinchey, and Okereke (to satisfy Flus). Those are my guesses. How about you? Who do you think Poles will sign? Gimme your top 3. #BTFD Note - those are not who I want, but who I think the Bears will target. I would rather see McGary than McGlinchey (price and performance).- Welcome DJ Moore, WR1
Hype video, very impressive:- Welcome DJ Moore, WR1
- Jalen Ramsey traded
The Rams going into full tank mode. Ramsey traded for a 3rd rounder to Miami, wow.- Welcome DJ Moore, WR1
I love the adjustments he makes on the ball, he has a huge catch radius.- Top FA Targets
I think we will start hearing about some stuff before then but the "expected to sign" stuff will come within minutes of the 12pm/11am window. Last year Rapoport tweeted the Ogunjobi signing at 12:08pm.- Consensus Big Board Top 10 (25 FEB Edition)
Carter is a no-brainer if he falls to 9, I doubt that happens though.- Top FA Targets
This is from Yahoo: So 12pm ET, 11 CT. https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl-free-agency-tracker-2023-140000094.html- Backup QB
- Backup QB
They had some odd choices with Peterman, Sieman, and Boyle. Those guys were terrible and none of them was really useful as a backup to Fields. I assume Poles will at least draft one later for the PS, but I would assume they want a vet as a backup. I just know if they want a Brissett or Bridgewater level guy who has some mobility or someone like Mariota who runs more often, or if they want a cheaper one. Either way, that spot is going to be interesting to see where it goes.- Top FA Targets
I can't believe free agency (legal tampering period) actually starts in just over 36 hours from now at 12pm (Noon) on Monday. The actual league year doesn't start until Wednesday, but with the Bears cap, they are likely to have one or two blue chip dudes locked up before Wednesday. We might even hear some rumblings tomorrow.- Bears Trade #1 to Panthers
Bears went from 20 to 11, gave up a 5th (#164), and then next year's 1st and a 5th (#7 and #112). So Fields for #20, #164 in 2021 and #7 and #112 in 2022. To me the 4th and 5th's are very minimal, so its like Fields for #7 and #20. Fields easily could've been a top 3 pick.- Bears Trade #1 to Panthers
Looking back at the Goff trade, which was 1 to 15. Everything sort of levels out and the differences in the trade are the following: Bears got DJ Moore and a 2nd (in two years) Titans got a 3rd and a next year's 3rd So to me, clearly the Bears got a lot better deal than the Titans got, which was the last trade up for #1. I had #9 equal to #15 and a 2nd, then the other 2nd's cancel out and the next year's 1st's cancels out.- Bears Trade #1 to Panthers
and that price would be even bigger because none of these QBs are close to Williams, even today. The one thing I was thinking about was how much the Jalen Carter news had to do with the Bears making this move, especially with a team like CAR.- I Never Thought I Would Be Weary Of Mock Drafts!
They are picking other team's based on their expected needs. The best option, which takes some time, is to select ALL the teams and manually pick based on actual BPA and needs. That definitely gets rid of some randomness. I may do that for the top 64 just to see what realistic options will be there at every pick.- Bears Trade #1 to Panthers
Every time I see him I think of the calypso circus music for some reason.- I Never Thought I Would Be Weary Of Mock Drafts!

Yes, lol. Add the drunk owner too.- Top FA Targets
Poles basically got DJ Moore and Claypool in one of the worst WR FA markets in quite some time. That in itself is impressive. Even with adding them, he is still in the top 10, with a total of 4 picks in the first 64, +2x 1st rounders in 2024, and already has 2x 2nd rounders in 2025. My assumption is CAR is a bottom 10 team this year and potentially next year as well making those future picks even more valuable.- Draft Slot Tracker (thru Week 15)
We got more than what I thought we would. Thank you Lovie!- Welcome DJ Moore, WR1
Moore comes in with 364-5201 yds, 14.3 Y/R, and 21 TDs. That is over 70 receptions and 1K yards per year. Pretty cool comp I found, 5 years with original team, then traded, stats with original team: Diggs 365-4623 yds, 12.7, 30 TD Moore 364-5201 yds, 14.3, 21 TD Diggs first year in Buffalo: 127-1535, 12.1, 8 TD, All-Pro1, PB Diggs has had 3 straight years with 100 catches, no less than 1225 yds and 8 TDs. This also makes things easier on Mooney and Claypool.- Consensus Big Board Top 10 (25 FEB Edition)
So now who are the Bears picking at #9? I don't think they go WR now with Moore penciled in as WR1, unless they are not sold on Mooney as WR2. If they are not going WR with 9, then Witherspoon (CB), Johnson (OL), Jones (OL), or Bresee (DL) seem like the pick.- Bears Trade #1 to Panthers
Bears now have 3 picks over an 11 pick sequence between 54-64. If they don't trade any (Poles may flip one for a future pick), they can really do some damage there. - 2023 NFL Free Agency Open Thread (Pinned)
