    TE

Fauria is projected as a 2nd or 3rd according to Walter Football: http://walterfootball.com/draft2013TE.php I would take a TE, but not until the 5th-7th.

    Walter Football Mock

I was wondering if Jones was drafted, would the Bears make him a Center, and then lock down that position for the next decade (ala Olin)? Which position is more valuable to stabilize, G or C?
  3. I completely agree. You can see the play where he re-aggravates it in the 1st quarter, right before the 2nd TD near the end of the quarter. Then it seemed like he/it got worse and worse as the game continued, which is to be expected. After the first drive in the 2nd half, he should've been pulled. Here are the Washington drive logs after the injury (it tells the whole story): 2Q 3 plays, 8 yards, punt 2 plays, 3 yards, INT 3Q 8 plays, 24 yards, punt 3 plays, 4 yards, punt 4Q 5 plays, 17 yards, punt 2 plays, -2 yards, fumble
  4. It if funny how people were comparing Cutler and Griffin right after the Redskins loss, and how Griffin "toughed" it out and stayed in to play (even though he was completely worthless after the initial injury). http://aol.sportingnews.com/nfl/story/2013...ee-acl-redskins They have to do a graft of his left patella to reconstruct the ACL in his right knee, which was previously injured and repaired. To me, this is a huge red flag. He is on his 2nd ACL surgery as a rookie, and the way he plays, he won't last very long in the league. He is not built like AP. To me, it was the wrong call, in the game, and for his career. They did not have a realistic shot at even making it to the NFC Championship.
  5. Wright also had 4 INTs and a TD, and Conte had 2 INTs. I thought they both played decent all year, not great, but not bad.
  6. I have only seen the 13 million number. With a few other cuts/trades (Davis, Spaeth, Hester, etc), the Bears could save another $2 million bring it their cap space over $15 mil. It looks like if Melton is re-signed, Urlacher is history. There is not enough big bucks to go around, and I don't see him signing for less money. If he doesn't retire, he will probably end up with NE.
  7. Hell, and if he can give some insight into what the Vikings see from their perspective, that would be very helpful. Then Emery could confirm with the ST Coach, who is also due an interview. Something that may seem like an internal strength, could be an actual weakness that other teams were exploiting. Also, this could be something like gauging interest for other positions as well, like DC.
  8. The 1st and 2nd would be huge, then getting a LB and 3 skill positions? That would be sweet. 40% of the Bama O-Line? I'll take it. However, based on the odds of early mock draft accuracy, the Bears will not draft any of these guys.

    Cutler Article

Pretty good read, and always nice to see a positive article about Jay: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown...57266--nfl.html

    New Bears Coach

Now up to 13, wow. The names are pretty impressive. This beats what Buffalo did (Doug Marrone 25-25 at Syracuse), ouch. 1. Mike McCoy - Denver OC * (Still in playoffs) 2. Keith Armstrong - Atlanta ST * (Still in playoffs) 3. Mike Sullivan - Tampa OC * 4. Joe DeCamillis - Dallas ST * 5. Tom Clements, Green Bay OC (Still in playoffs) 6. Pete Carmichael, New Orleans OC * 7. Bruce Arians, Indianapolis OC 8. Marc Trestman, Montreal Alouettes HC 9. Rick Dennison, Houston OC (Still in playoffs) 10. Darrell Bevell, Seattle OC (Still in playoffs) 11. Mike Singletary, Minnesota LB's Coach 12. Mike Priefer, Minnesota ST 13. Dave Toub, Chicago ST
  11. Very slick, Emery is impressing me more and more each day. Just think of how many perspectives he is getting on how to "fix" the Bears. That type of outsider information is invaluable.

    New Bears Coach

Yeah, Cousins would've done better. The Redskins defense finally broke when the offense couldn't move the ball.

    Peppers

I would not do anything with Peppers this year. You simply cannot replace his production and his cap hit is comparable to his performance.
  17. Hard to believe Webb is positive, and I am hoping that is Edwin Williams, not Chris.

    New Bears Coach

I didn't see this posted before, but it looks like Emery wants a new HC by the east-West Shrine Game on January 19th. So there is sort of an internal deadline. If that is the case, how would that affect the coordinators who are currently in the playoffs? I guess the assumption is you will only have 4 playoff teams left at that point and it is highly unlikely it will be GB at ATL AND IND at DEN. McCoy, Armstrong, Clements, and Arians are currently in the playoffs. Sullivan, DeCamillis, and Carmichael are not.

    New Bears Coach

I love that. Wanny, Jauron, and Lovie were all defensive coaches, it will be a nice change.

    Walter Football Mock

I would take either, especially if they were also BPA at those positions.

    New Bears Coach

I would be happy with Arians, Carmichael, or McCoy.

    Andy Reid thread

Interesting that Reid would rather go there than ARZ or SD. I assume he has to like having the 1st pick, and they must be giving him more control than in other positions. They did have 5 Pro Bowlers, but they didn't seem like the best place to go compared to Chicago, Arizona, or San Diego.
  23. After that performance, it is hard to see him still in consideration.

    New Bears Coach

Thx, added to the list at the top.
  25. Hester and Urlacher will be gone anyway, with Davis, Spaeth, etc. So I don't see this as a complete rebuild. Our main players will still be there. We have the Big-3 on the offense, and Peppers, Tillman, and Briggs will be there on defense. We will hopefully re-sign Melton, still have Jennings, and a whole slew of young safeties. We get a new MLB, address the O-Line via draft and FA, add a decent TE, and maybe add another WR (please Amendola), and we will be right there again next year.
