For me I think it comes down to Long/Bostic vs Ogletree/Warford vs Trufant/Warford vs Floyd/Warford The first two seem to fill the biggest needs, and the last two do not address LB. Floyd seems to be the biggest luxury pick, though he may have been BPA.
  2. Yeah, I am just saying it is something, and it can go two ways, escalate where the player shows he has no self control, or he realizes what he can lose, and turns it around.
  3. Yeah but the last time I checked smoking weed is illegal, so a guy risking his entire career and well being over doing something illegal just validates who that person really is.
  4. That was not Jay Cutler. I understand your point, I don't think he is a moron, but the comments about those things affecting his on field performance is a red flag.
  5. These are two alarming quotes: What was adversely affecting his play besides his skill and competency? Was he drunk or high, hung over when he played? Again, so now that he is not drunk, he is better on the field? The only saving grace is that Trestman is changing the team's mindset, and if Webb can see and understand that in such a short time, that is a very positive sign.
  6. What am I thinking, the best offseason acquisition is the subtraction of Kellen Davis.
  7. Who's feeing Jay, they have bigger forearms than him?

I would say most of the injuries were because you did not have any protective gear on. If the NFL played without helmets and pads, there would be a player hurt on every play. That is not the same case for Rugby. If they threw on some helmet and pads, you would rarely see an injury in Rugby.
  9. Parker, We are not over the cap. We have $3.4 million for the rookie pool.

I would say that the type of offense they play in does affect how good someone may actually perform. Webb would probably be a little better playing in the NO offense and Bushrod a little worse playing in CHI offense (of last year). However, with Trestman at the helm, I think both of them have the potential to be better this year.
  11. There are a bunch actually, I can see a group of guys fitting in this category, but I had to narrow it down, Bushrod, Bennett, and Long all seem to be the ones with the biggest potential because who they are replacing.

More great news, the last two are Long and Bostic which will hopefully sign by the weekend.
  14. Jay needs to wear a "Goodell" headband.
  15. adam replied to bowlingtwig's topic in Bearstalk
Technically yes, but it comes in the form of a signing bonus which I believe is one of the only negotiable items in a rookie contract. Once drafted they don't have as much leverage anymore, that is why the draft position is more important now than it was under the old CBA. Cliff Stein will eventually start signing players before they are even drafted, he is that good.

Cliff is really an efficient dude, great to see these signings. Also, I am surprised that Washington signed so quick because I know he was upset that he fell that far, and sometimes guys like that want more money based on where they were projected.

Teddy Bridgewater is also a Top 10 pick for 2014.

I like his speed to the ball carrier, you don't even see him in the frame, and then BAM he is hitting the QB.

It looks like all he needed to do was keep his head up because he was leading with his right shoulder, but puts his head down at the last second which puts his head out first.

    Thanks, that was my goal.

54 is no longer on the team, so she needs to remove the jersey.
  23. Can't have a better role model than Marshall to show him the way though.
  24. The Midway Mafia? The Hit Squad? The Really Good LB Corps from Chitown? Yeah, and I like the versatility of the rookies, they can play multiple positions, and all these LB's can hit. Briggs: Greene: Same hit: Bostic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCEWISyExwk Same hit: Williams:
