Harris is also reunited with Peppers, which should help with team cohesion. I like the move and didn't like the initial trade to begin with. Harris has been above average in Carolina and one of the clubhouse leaders. Now if we can do the same on the OL we will be looking good.

WR is probably 3rd or 4th on the list of needs, and I don't see it as a critical need as some of the other areas like O-Line and DB.

Really odd to see so many different contract totals. This is the latest: So is it 72 million, 79 million, or 91 million?

I think the organization made a huge statement with these signings, which will make bringing in other marquee players easier in the future. Hell, all three of these guys only came to Chicago, and left with a contract. That is crazy. Especially for someone like Peppers.

Have the Bears ever signed this many marquee players in one day?

Jaws is probably a good player to analyze INTs, since he threw a ton of them. The only problem on some of these was that it was clear that the receiver ran the wrong route or stopped short. Those INTs looked really bad, but it is hard to blame Cutler when he is throwing to a point. Jaws does also say that about 6-8 weren't Cutler's fault, so that is about right. I do think Martz will help and they have a lot more time to prepare than last year.

Interesting that the game ended very similar to ours. Bears down 22-17 and Grossman throws a pick-6 ending any chance of a comeback. This year the Colts are down 24-17 and Manning throws a pick-6 ending any chance of a comeback.

Is the problem with Martz that he is a bad Coordinator or that he is related to Lovie? He was 53-32 as a HC and had only one full losing season at 7-9. His winning percentage is higher than any current active HC. He also had some of the most prolific offenses of this era. Kitna threw for 4,000 yards in both seasons that Martz was there - and the Lions won more games (7 in 2007) when he was the OC than they did in any other year of the decade. If you just took his background, and took his name (and Lovie's) out of the equation, everyone would be clamoring for him. At this point, he is a huge upgrade over Turner and has the history to back it up. I don't like the Lovie-Link but in terms of offensive pedigree, he seems to be a solid choice.

Sadly, at this point I would be happy with anyone other than Turner. How many times have "sure fits" not worked out anyway? I am disgusted with the organization as well (mainly for hanging on to Lovie), but just interviewing and hiring the first candidate is not always the best course of action. The Bears also could be targeting someone on Indy or New Orleans as well. So I am not too worried until after the SB.

No one is going to come to Chicago knowing that Lovie is literally a lame-duck coach.

Kinda funny that an INT basically ends the Vikes season. The Saints didn't win that game, the Vikes lost it big time. Not a single Saint had over 40 yards receiving with Brees only totaling 197 yards. Vikes had a 300 yard passer, a 100 yard rusher, and a 100 yard receiver, and lose. Wow. Watching the post game, it is hard to see Brett coming back after that one.

Wow the Jets defense looks good. The announcers kept mentioning the 46. Man I miss that defense.
