I guess Emery doesn't believe in BPA....
Also, Emery said they were targeting Long, which seems like they liked him the best out of the players that were available at 20. Technically just because he was selected at 20, doesn't mean that is where his value had to be. It only had to be from 20-49, which is about right where Long would've fell into. So Emery drafted someone who was not going to be there at 50. How about Pugh at 19, or Manuel before Smith and Barkley. Floyd was projected as high as #2 and goes in the 20's.

Schwenke or Jones at 50?

So Eifert, Trufant, Floyd, and Rhodes all go right after our pick. I really hope he works out and anchors the right side of our line for the next decade. Otherwise, this was an incredibly questionable pick. I like Long, I just didn't think he would ever go in the top 20. I still think it was Pugh coming off the board, they didn't believe he would be there at 50, and an LB would be.

All I can say is I would take Kyle Long any day over Manti Teo. So that alone is a success for me.

That is pure speculation. I am sure Pugh going at 19 made them pull the trigger.

I actually liked him at 50, but at least we addressed the O-Line. I got the player right, but the round wrong.

Floyd was as high as the top 5, getting him would be awesome.

Safety Eric Reid red flagged by teams
Seems like a logical pick for us at #20, if Angelo was still GM. Injured + Safety

KC takes LT Eric Fisher per PFT
Makes sense, I liked him better than Joeckel. KC is going to be a lot better this year.

SB Nation team needs
WR and both OTs are questionable? Bushrod? Marshall, Jeffery? Safety? We are so deep at safety. Both Guards are trouble? Slauson? DT and CB are good? I am confused, this is not very accurate. I would say OG, LB, DT, CB, OT, C, WR then QB would be the order.

Urlacher News from Last Week
After everyone got over the emotions of the move it was the right decision. The funny thing is Urlacher couldve been back, he just elected not to play for the Bears offer. It was ultimately his decision.

WalterFBs final mock
A pretty logical draft by position, though a WR instead of TE would be the better route IMO. Richardson in the 1st would make our D-Line one of the most dominant in the league with Peppers and Melton next to him, and he could learn from the best. Brown at 50 is a great value, and he could come in and possibly start at MLB. Webb is a good pickup in the 4th, immediately becomes Nickelback and could move over if Jennings or Tillman get hurt. Fragel would be decent there for a project. He might not start year one, but has enough upside to compete. Gragg is eh, but it is a 6th.

TerraTor's 0530 Mock Draft
So we are trading with SF for 34 and JAX for 64? Do you mean SF's 61st pick? Brown and Pugh are fine, but Jones may be a little high at 64.

Official 2013 NFL Draft Thread
Just thought I was start a running thread for the draft to put all our thoughts in one place leading up to the draft as we now have about 30 overlapping threads on essentially the same topic.

30 for 30
I think a player that threatens something like that, they should be held out for an entire year and then can re-enter the draft the following year. To me, it affects the competitive spirit of the game. It is bad enough with all the money involved, but what happens when 2-3 players start doing it saying they won't sign the contract if drafted? Eli and Elway are in the same boat for me.

More LB to consider
Lol, what? Moore has had 43 tackles for a loss in his career, Klein had 19. Actually, Klein is the last one I would want. Greene is the highest rated amongst the three, but based on our draft position, Moore seems to fit the 5-6 round slot if we want him.
