Starting to get nervous with all these teams 7-3
I believe 10 wins gets you a playoff spot this year. I see the Bears going at worst 9-7 and at best 11-5. So 10-6 seems reasonable. If they take care of business vs Minnesota and Detroit, then all they have to do is win 1 game against (PHI, NE, NYJ, and GB), and if they can't do that, they don't deserve to be in the playoffs anyway. The Packers are actually playing at New England, so that is a loss. If the Falcons beat them this week, the Division and possibly the WC will come down to Week 17 in GB for both us and the Packers. 10 or 11 wins. If the Falcons beat the Pack, I can see them going 13-3 with the only other tough game against NO. They are basically a lock unless they implode. The Saints are kind of shaky and they have 4 road games left. I can see them going 10-6. The loss to the Eagles was tough for the Giants and at 6-4 they are behind the power curve. They lost Smith (WR) and now lost Nicks (WR) for a couple of weeks. I see them finishing at 9-7 at best and missing the playoffs. The Eagles are playing great with Vick, they are a completely different team with him as the QB. I see them going 11-5 or 12-4. The Bus have a rough stretch coming up and will probably be out of the hunt after the next two weeks at 7-5. I figure they will end up at 9-7. 1. Atlanta 13-3 2. Philly 12-4 3. GB/CHI 11-5 (whoever wins Week 17) 4. NFC West Division winner 8-8 5. NO 10-6 6. CHI/GB 10-6 (whoever loses Week 17) TB 9-7 NYG 9-7

The Legend of Favre is dead
Childress can't sit him when he is no longer the coach. Frazier might though.

Worst Players
Webb is a 7th round pick starting, and besides for some penalties, he has played much better than a 7th rounder.

Bears @ Dolphins 11/18/10, 7:20 CT, NFL Network
I don't know, our defense is a top 5 unit: QB Rating against us: 66.7, yards allowed per attempt: 5.96, and touchdown passes against: 6. #2 Pts Allowed, #2 Rushing yards against, #4 Total Yards allowed, #2 INT, #1 FFum, #5 First Downs against, #4 3rd Down Conversions Miami is also -5 in Turnovers. That plays right into the Bears strengths.

End of Third Quarter
Yeah it was a bad pick, and inexcusable in the red zone. Like you said, throw it away and go for 3. Cutler has to limit these type of mistakes if the Bears want to make the playoffs.

Aw poor baby
He is going to hang it up before he gets suspended, thats for sure.

Vikings @ Bears 11/14/10, 12:00 CT, FOX
If Cutler throws 3 INTs, the Bears lose by 10. I hope he doesn't throw more than 1.

Toub a possibility
Nope, but a few have led different teams to Super Bowls, just none have won it with both teams. Parcells, Holmgren, Vermeil, Shula, and Reeves have all led multiple teams to a Super Bowl. Also, I believe I saw Gruden mentioned somewhere.

So the Bears are 5-3
I wouldn't say the Packers are up and down. All their losses have been by 3 pts. They had a chance to win every game. I figure NYG, GB, ATL, NO and a random 8-8 team from the West as the first 5 playoff teams. The Bears are vying for that last playoff spot with PHI, TB, SEA, and WAS. The problem is we have already lost to SEA and WAS. So we really need to string a couple game together here in the next few weeks. For how good our defense has been, only 3 teams have less sacks. We need more QB pressure.

Cutler and his future
I am waiting for Cutler to go Ryan Leaf on someone.

Bye Week
Just make a drinking game out of it. Have cards for different events and when that happens, you drink, or drink whenever any of the following occur: Cutler throws an INT Cutler gets sacked Bears don't convert a 3rd Down Bears don't score from opponent's 1-yard line Forte rushes for no gain Bears fumble Bears Receiver drops a pass Lovie challenges play that is not overturned Lovie doesn't challenge a blatantly obvious call

Bears bungled O-line from the start
Yeah, but everyone is playing pretty sloppy this year. You could say that about a bunch of teams. New Orleans is 3-2 coming off the SB and the combined record of the teams they beat is 1-13. The Bucs, Redskins, Jaguars, Texans, and Cardinals all have winning records but have negative point differentials. Arizona is -50 and is still 3-2. The ViQueens and Boys are both 1-3 and both were NFC favorites before the season.

Adam Shefter......
Favre would only do that so his cock-shots don't end it for him. If they think he will be suspended, I assume he would sit out prior to that so his record wouldn't end due to a suspension.

Seahawks @ Bears Gamethread
BrianBear predicted the exact score last week, so you know he will at least be in the ballpark with this week's prediction. I say Bears 31-13.

What if?
- Rumor mongering
When is a rental considered 3 to 5 years? You are basically getting that length out of a rookie contract on an unknown in the draft, yet Mankins has a proven track record. You can't underestimate the value of a great O-Line. The Bears should be willing to do almost anything to protect their Franchise QB.- Hester WR vs Hester PR
2006 47 Punt Returns - 3 TD, 0 Receptions - 0 TD 2007 42 Punt Returns - 4 TD, 20 Receptions - 2 TD 2008 32 Punt Returns - 0 TD, 51 Receptions - 3 TD 2009 24 Punt Returns - 0 TD, 57 Receptions - 3 TD 2010 9 Punt Returns - 1 TD, 6 Receptions - 1 TD He is much more explosive and valuable to the team as a returner first and WR second. In 2008 and 2009 when he was a WR first, all those extra touches resulted in less scores than when he was a PR first. This year is the same, more punt returns than receptions, and 2 TDs in 3 games total. Also, I am not even taking into account KRs. I don't know if this is something they are doing with him but vs GB it looked like he was going to break it every time he got the ball. I foresee good field position for us in the future again.- Bears at Giants, 10/3/10
The Giants defense is allowing 28 pts a game (only Bills and 49ers have allowed more) and will be without Kiwanuka who has been huge for them. I would think we would at least score that much and can get our running game going. Eli has been sacked 7 times with 6 INTs in 3 games. I don't see them scoring more than what Dallas did vs us (20). Peppers get a couple of sacks, Bears lead throughout and cruise 31-17.- 4th and goal from the 1
I just don't like the formations. We should spread them out and even go into the shotgun to open up the draw. How about some misdirection or fake the handoff up the middle and have the other back sweep to the outside, or even a bootleg. Something other than Forte running into the backs of our O-Line would be great.- Optimism
The Bears had 463 yards, which is the most since 1997? The 168 yards allowed was the best since 2006? So I believe the difference of 295 yards was the most in decades. Yards don't equate to wins, but it is promising to see on both sides of the ball. The defense also held the Lions to 10 drives with 10 yards or less. That is silly. Again yards don't mean much, but at least we showed we can move the ball. People say it is only Detroit, but they are much improved and have some good players at many skill positions. Any time you hold Johnson to 4 catches and 45 yards, you are doing pretty good. We also did something that we rarely do, win a game where we lose the TO battle. Detroit was lucky to be even in the game in the 4th. Based on some of the errors we could have been up by 20+ heading into the final frame. So if we can clean up the drops, limit the TOs and penalties, I think we have a chance to surprise some people. After the train wreck of a preseason I was actually pleasantly surprised overall. Also, a bunch of teams on our schedule did not look too good, which is nice to see. Next up Dallas, who scored 7 pts against the Redskins.- Lions @ Bears, 9/12/10 game thread
110 yards allowed and we lose? Unfreakin real. - Rumor mongering
