    Wow

Yeah, I liked the play call. It just wasn't executed.
  2. Yep, that's the only thing that's holding this defense back. With all the guys healthy next year, our D will be right back where it was last year, but we still need better Safety play. They're just not good. Toeaina is a guy I was definitely impressed with. Kennedy played well too, I thought, for being out an entire year. I remember one play when he caused a double team that allowed someone else to break right through the line for a tackle. With Harris, Dvoracek, Adams, and Idonije (who can play DE too) we have 4 guys we can count on for next year. Then, with Garay, Toeania, Kennedy, Oshinowo, and Walker (if he's not cut, which seems likely), I imagine we'll have to find 1 more guy from that group that can provide solid play and depth. DE is set with Ogunleye, Brown, Anderson (who needs to go back to being a 3rd down, Leonard Little-type DE), and Bazuin. As for LB, we'll have to see what happens to Briggs (who needs to be re-signed, btw). Without him, that unit is questionable, though still should be solid with Urlacher and Hillenmeyer around. I'm sure Jamar Williams can be good, but he won't be Lance Briggs.
  3. I'm pretty excited about watching Flacco tomorrow night. Can't wait to see how he does, and evaluate him further than just the 2 quarters I saw him play last week.
  4. Well, since we get the Chargers' 3rd rounder this year, I wouldn't mind giving up a 1st and 3rd to get Anderson b/c then Anderson would really only be our 1st round pick since we'd have another 3rd. And, I really believe Anderson would be better than any other player we could draft with our 1st round pick, especially if that player is a QB (which I hope to God it's not if we do keep our #1). Look at it this way: 1- Derek Anderson 2- Tony Hills or Chris Williams 3- Josh Barrett or other Safety 4- And so on... I'd consider that a pretty solid day if you ask me. Of course, I'm one of the firm believers that we need to fix our o-line (first and foremost) before we do anything else. So, nabbing a veteran o-lineman (maybe one of the Colts' two guards) in FA plus getting a Tackle early in the draft would be a huge plus in turning around the O-Line.
  5. What pisses me off is that he got hurt on a cheap/illegal play by Neal. If the block was legit, then I wouldn't be as upset about it.
  6. You gotta go into Camp with more than just 3 RB's, and having a vet like Brown who's played (and played well) for a good portion of a season is some good insurance in case someone gets hurt.
  7. That's some good stuff right there. The 3rd down offense has to be better. We've added more weapons and Grossman will have another year/offseason under his belt. I don't see why we could be at least a little above average in 3rd down conversions.
  8. I think this as good as we could've gotten from the Commish in this situation. I too think he'll only be suspended 6 games.
  9. I really do like how we have focused on locking up our draftees early.
  10. Definitely would not make that trade for reasons jackie hayes and drunkbomber pointed out.
  11. Hmm, this is definitely an intriguing proposition. However, the Bears (Angelo) don't strike me as one of those teams that would take a guy in the Supplemental Draft.
  12. Yeah, no kidding. I think that him signing this early really shows he just wants to be apart of the team, and is just happy to get his fair share. He really seems to have his head on straight.
  13. Let's hope this works out as well as we all think it can, and Hester will be absolutely sick on offense.
  14. Really? Man, not he's not reppin Chi-town very well
  15. Yeah, no kidding. It seems like the other day he was getting sentenced to jail time, though for him I'm sure it didn't go by as fast as it did for us. I'd be happy with 8 after seeing what Pacman and Henry got. At least he'll be extremely fresh at that mid-season point when a lot of players will be fighting those nagging injuries and such.
  16. Oh well, I'm not too worried. I like the idea of having some new prospects fill the WR void. Plus, it's not like you can miss what you never had.
  17. Oh well. I was really hoping for Scott to come back, but hopefully he'll have a good opportunity in Phily.
  18. Oh hell yeah! I really think he has a legit shot at making it as a 4th-5th receiver this year. He really stepped up big time when teams would try to double Meachem. The odds are against him, but he was pegged as a guy who would get drafted in like the 4th round until he ran a slow 40. He plays much faster than that time indicates, though, and he runs great routes.
  19. I know some weren't happy with all the DB's we drafted, but I really like all the selections, especially McBride from Ole Miss. I've watched him play numerous times and he could be very valuable (for such a late draft choice) in the Cover 2. He may not be the fastest guy, but has great instincts and is always around the ball, which is great for zone coverage.
  20. I'd love to see any of these guys signed: Rory Johnson - OLB - Ole Miss = Raw, but super-athletic. Came out early b/c of grades, so that may be a red-flag Tim Duckworth - G - Auburn Jayson Swain - WR - Tennessee = Very productive working the middle of the field next to Meachem; Very good hands Jon Abbate - MLB - Wake Forest = Great instincts and very intense, but teams scared by his height (5'11'') and speed Cory Anderson - FB - Tennessee = Great lead blocker; most thought he'd go 4th-5th round Rhema McKnight - WR - Notre Dame Matt Trannon - WR - Michigan St.
  21. Hmm, I would really like Kalil if he's still there. I know we have Olin, but Olin is getting up there in age, and it wouldn't hurt to have a nice talented Center waiting in the wings. I'm sure he could play some guard too.
  22. Well, there goes Sidney Rice to Minny. That makes their likely Top 2 receivers both from South Carolina.
  23. I think it's 8. Nonetheless, that is a lot of picks, so I think it's likely we could package our two 5's to move up in the 5th or something. I doubt we'll do any more trading on Day 1.
  24. No kidding. I feel like they're going to commerical a hell of a lot too.
  25. Huh, that sucks. I was really excited about some of the guys left on the board. I guess whoever we were really after was taken. In JA I trust Also, we had to have gotten no less than a 2nd and 3rd, or else I'll be disappointed.
