  1. Right, but it wasn't before he decided to royally freak up his professional baseball career by getting kicked out of school because of drug abuse and eligibility issues. Had his last name not been Long, I have my doubts that he would have been thought of this highly. Hard to imagine you could get much out of watching those 5 games of film at Oregon.
  2. Nothing says a great pick like a 1st round, 24 year old project, with minimal experience and a history of underachieving.
  3. Day 2 needs be better than Day 1, because Day 1 couldn't have gotten much worse.
  4. You would think they'd target a LB in the 2nd round now, but after today, and last year's draft, I honestly have no idea what to expect. What I wouldn't do is draft a quarterback in the 2nd, so that's probably what he's going to do.
  5. He sure as hell better start. He's going to be 25 damn years old.
  6. I hope we go LB in the 2nd round, but our pick at 20 doesn't exactly instil much confidence in me. Guessing we'll take a quarterback. Tyler Bray or Mike Glennon. It's very true.
  7. Kyle Long will be 25 in December. He made 4 starts at Oregon, and also has a history of off-field issues to boot. So we just drafted an old, projected 2nd round pick with the #20 overall pick, who also happens to not be anywhere close to a finished product at that age.
  8. They had to be, given how they left so many good, talented prospects on the board to take him.
  9. The kid from Alabama would have been an infinitely better pick than Kyle Long, and I didn't even want him. This pattern of reaching is not good for Emery. His tenure will not last long if Long or McClellin don't pan out.
  10. Lol. And he's a 24 year old project.. Good god.
  11. I should just not ever watch the Bears pick in the 1st round anymore, because 90% of the time, it's a bad pick. Now Atlanta trades up in the draft... Jesus Christ Emery. You had Eiffert, Ogletree, Brown, Te'o, Floyd and you went with another developmental project?!
  12. Long didn't belong in the 1st round, period.
  13. They could have easily traded back to get this kid in the 2nd round.
  14. What a horrendous pick. This guy was a late 2nd rounder. Emery's draft picks have been highly questionable.
  15. I really don't want Floyd, but if he's there, I bet that's who the Bears take.. DT doesn't really do anything for me.
  16. Both guards gone before the 11th pick. You won't see that again anytime soon. No Quarterbacks taken in the top 10 either. This is a weird ass draft.
  17. How does that make you soft? Weak? Yes. His style of play suggests that he's anything but soft. He's all over the field, hitting quarterbacks, forcing fumbles, making plays.. He'll play nickel and return kicks, and if I had to make a bet, I would bet on him being really good at both.
  18. Again.. If he can get past the drug issues (which is a major if) I have no reason to believe he won't be an extremely successful player at the NFL level. His return skills will allow him to make an instant impact to whichever team takes a chance on him. I don't see him as a soft player at all.
  19. I am expecting 3/4 of us will be upset by the end of Saturday. All I'm asking is for Emery not to freak up the 1st round pick this year. Just don't be stupid with it. I want an impact player that can start right away. No more Shea McClellin's.
  20. Another tweet from Rap. God I hope either Minnesota jumps ahead of us to take him or Phil Emery is doing on hell of a job at creating a smokescreen.
  21. I'm actually not a fan of either of our safeties, so I could see why they'd be listed as questionable. That said, I'm also sick and tired of drafting a safety every year, so unless we're getting Kenny Vacarro or some bonafide stud, like Mark Barron was last year, then it doesn't make sense. I don't want anymore Brandon Hardin's in the 3rd round.
  22. ^^ I saw that and my first thought was: "I hope Minnesota jumps ahead of us to take him."
  23. I think he just might be. I might be crazy in thinking that, but everytime I saw this kid play at LSU he was making stuff happen. He has a knack for making big plays. I really believe if he can stay away from his drug problem, he'll be a star.
  24. Damn, I see Jon Gruden has Tyrann Mathieu and Tavon Austin as the two best defensive/offensive players in this draft. My thoughts exactly.
