Preseason Game #2 Open Thread

Featured Replies

Just thought I'd open a thread for tonight's game. I hope Cutler plays a quarter with the starters and then Jimmy shows he can handle this offense at least as well as we saw him do last week. Obviously the D Line will be a big thing I'll be watching. If they can build on the success they had last week that'll be very positive. #1 goal: Stay healthy!

Stay Healthy is right on. That should be the number one goal, as always. Looking around the league players on the mend after preseason injuries are already hurting teams. After last year's MASH Unit, we need to stay healthy if we are going to make waves in the post season.

Teams run a very vague game plan on offense and base defense during the preseason. I don't care if Cutler looks amazing in preseason. Clearly I would prefer if the Bears on both sides of the ball looked great.

Most important thing is NO injuries.

Ditto. Health health and more health!

The entire defense looks like crap. I am sick of the scheme already, too many holes. Henne looks like a Pro Bowler, and we can't even get a first down on offense. Surprised by the start.

Weems is atrocious. There is no way he should have made the team last year, and he damn sure shouldn't this year. Waste of roster space. The Bears desperately need a viable returning threat.

Who needs a MLB? No not us we have Shae and DJ Williams

New D looks a lot like the old D

Though it's only pre-season, I don't expect the Bears to be any good on defense this year as long as Mel Tucker is running the show. They'll be better than last year because its impossible to be any worse, but that isn't saying much.

Kadeem Carey needs reps with the 1st or 2nd team or he'll never see any yards behind the Bears 3rd string offensive line. They are brutal.

3rd WR = Morgan. The other guys have not impressed but Morgan has made some nice catches and he hangs onto the ball.

Looked a lot like 2013 out there today. Offense has flashes, defense got NO pressure early. ST needs Hester.

Here's hoping the dress rehearsal next week goes better.

Kelvin Hayden should also be gone. Bad coverage and bad tackling. McMannis has outplayed him and I'd keep Al a Louis Jean over him - he's not aggressive enough yet but good cover guy from what I've seen.

Also, glad to see a little something from Shaugn Draughn last night. Ford looks like he would be the odd man out, except we may need him as a return man given the struggles of Weems and injury to Chris Williams.
