I'm squarely in the frame of mind: Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. And the Bears have fooled me far more than twice. I'm very curious who Getsy pulls in to fill out his coaching staff. If he can get some good veteran coaches to follow him then I'll have hope because those guys should know when someone is BSing them. If he starts pulling coaches out of college, or we get the scraps who just need a job after all the other teams got their coaches set, then it's over before it started. Bright side is Devonte Adams raved about him (who know maybe Bears sign him). Rodgers loved him so much that after he left Packers first time he made a big push for them to bring him back. He even mentions things like being late with your feet will result in sacks. From all accounts, Getsy is a QB "specialist" and if he got experience with maybe the best QB ever, that can't hurt. AZ it is my understanding that you can't use any post-June 1 money until after June 1st, so none of that could be used for the first few waves of free agency. So there is a chance they designate someone like that to have money for the training camp cut downs, but if you want to use the cap savings in free agency before the draft, it is just a normal cut and reduced cap savings. I expect that Poles is going to turnover at least a 1/3 of the roster, which is pretty easy with the amount of guys unsigned. It’s possible we have more talent already here than we think. Bad schemes and play calling can hold players back. And we’ve had bad schemes and play calling in spades the last few years. Better coaches may get more out of what’s here and be better able to sift through FA and the draft. Like Adam said we’re pulling guys from winning programs. They are in roles that are new to them but they but they have been a part of winning football. If Getsy can craft an offensive scheme and playbook that actually puts our players in a position to succeed. We may have mower talent than we think. Still we have money upfront do get a mid-range deal done like that and then work on Roquan's extension after Jun 1st. At that point - it seems like Reich made the decision he wants to bring in his own DC (technically Flu's was inherited from the McDaniels fiasco) and let his DC have the flexibility to get his staff. I wonder if Bowles makes his way to Indy (would be a pretty natural fit). Seperately - might Matt Nagy find some form of a "consultant" role on the Colts. Yep, someone said he was the first QB in a long time to be at the press conference for the new HC and GM. Trubisky wasn't for Nagy, Cutler wasn't for Trestman or Emery. The Giants WRs were terrible last year and Golladay was one of the worst. WR Coach has to shoulder some of the blame for that. Hopefully he is better than Furrey.
