adam
In Week 2, Fields had 1.1 QBR, one of the lowest scores I have seen. 3-11, 27.3%, 27 yds, and a fumble lost before leaving the game with a concussion.
Bears4Ever_34
Super small sample size, but more numbers continue to show he's getting better. They scored 17 points against MIN (taking away the pick 6) and 21 against the Lions. They had 317 total yards against MIN, and 339 against the Lions. Penalties continue to kill this team, but if they can ever clean that up, there are signs of hope with this offense. Next week will be a big test. DAL's defense is horrible. If the Bears don't put up big numbers against them, It will be concerning. If they do, it will give some validity to the idea that they are improving. Pixote
Thanks, Adam. I love this thread and hope you continue comparing the 2nd-year QBs as the season advances. It will be interesting to see the progress, or regression, of each of them throughout the season.

He would have 3,812 thru 16 games. So he even has a shot to break Kramer's team record of 3,838 in the same number of games, and also hit 4K in the same year. Very promising. Now we need to stack weeks like this. Over 20 games, the top 3 QBs in the 2024 class, TD/INT: Nix 34 TD, 15 INT Daniels 28 TD, 9 INT Williams 27 TD, 7 INT Nix only has 46 more passing yards than Williams, who are now 1-2 in Passing Yards. Bears4Ever_34
ESPN has him at 67.2 QBR on the season now. It's only been 3 games, but he's clearly been the best QB of his class to start the season. I still don't think Drake Maye is any good. He's benefited from a cakewalk schedule against soft defenses in these first few games, yet New England is still 1-2 with Caleb out performing him. Yeah in 1 or 2 more games, Williams will have the best numbers for their careers of every QB in his class outside of Daniels rushing numbers. He already has the best Year 2 numbers by a wide margin. adam
Caleb is excelling in situational football. 3rd Downs, 123.7 Passer Rating, Red Zone, 120.5 Passer Rating, trailing with 4 mins to go, 134.2 Passer Rating. Right now he needs to improve on 2nd Down, 57.5 Passer Rating (1 INT), and in the 3rd Quarter, 68.4 Passer Rating, but that's about it. Another solid performance against LVR and I think some of these numbers will level out.

We have been asking for a scheme that got receivers open, and we are finally seeing it.

They interviewed Caleb yesterday and asked him about winning player of the week. His response, "cool". When asked to expound upon it, "it's Wednesday and we're preparing for the Raiders". I couldn't love that more!

adam
The top 2 most improved QBs thru 3 weeks are Daniel Jones and Caleb Williams. Jones was beyond terrible, so he had much more room to get better. He is playing great and looks like a completely different QB. Of all the QBs in the NFL that played last season, there are only 3 that are better this year than they were last year, which is quite shocking to be honest. The 3rd QB is Rattler but like Jones, he was so bad that just playing average makes him look like the second coming of Dan Marino.

adam
Williams on pace for 3,940 Passing Yards, 34 TD, and 9 INT with 467 rushing yards and 4 rushing TDs. 3,838 Yards and 29 TD is the record (in 16 games). Caleb needs to average 224 Passing Yards and 1.7 Passing TD for the remainder of the season to break both records. I honestly think he will hit both before Week 16. adam
Caleb has 8 career INTs, 2 of them are literally throw aways that were caught, one this year. The last one by Crosby was a crazy tipped pass and catch. What is very promising is that of his nearly 700 career passing attempts, so few were INT worthy.
