Week 4 Official Game Thread - CHI @ LVR, 9/28, 325pm, CHI +1, O/U 47.5, CBS

Featured Replies

The Raiders just got gashed by Marcus Mariota. WAS sacked Geno Smith 5 times, and they had a punt return for a TD.

On defense LVR is closer to DAL than MIN or DET. LVR has fewer QB Pressures than DAL.

I feel like this is a high 20s to low 20s type of game, like Bears 28-20. The Bears have to get to 2-2 going into the early bye. For the Raiders, this is not as much of a must-win for them.

I haven’t seen the defense do very much, and the pass rush looks non existent, but this is an offense year.

Against the Raiders I want to see Caleb go for 300+ yds and/or 3TDs.

Would love that - I also want to see the ground attack continue to improve as the oline continues to gel. Defensively my hope is Stevenson has another good game and we see some progress across the board in terms of clean up - and the dline starting to gain confidence than get to bye week and come out of that with Gordon and Edward’s back too plus Booker who was looking real good in camp / preseason and have Jarrett getting back to 100 percent.

This is my big 6-0 dream trip, so I'll be there bringing the heat!  Can't wait...💪🏈

I feel about as good with this one as I did with last week. The offense has been trending in the right direction for 3 weeks in a row. The only real thing that's held them back has been those drive-ending penalties. If they can avoid those on Sunday, I think they can put up a lot of points again.

Everyone in this division is annoyingly 2-1 again except for the Bears.. If they want to keep pace, they can't give these games away against mediocre competition. At some point, they are going to have to win a couple against playoff-caliber teams to have a realistic shot at the playoffs, but we'll worry about that in a couple weeks.

Congrats! Hope the Bears give you a present in celebration of your old age. LOL

I was surprised to see LV as the favorites, although being less than 3 points favorite at home is basically saying the game is a toss-up.

Can we get some pressure on Geno and stop the run?

If yes, I think we can win big, Bears 32 LVR 17

If no, I hope we can pull it out, but it will be tight, w/last-minute FG, Bears 24 LVR 23

I think its going to end up a home game for the Bears. Many ticket holders are transients and not LV residents. More Bear fans than Raiders fans. IMO

The Raiders can be had thru the air and are decent against the run. They have 7 sacks of which 4 were in the first game against the Patriots.( we have 5) They average 350 passing yards against them.

Jeanty is averaging less than 50 yards a game at 3.1 yards a carry. Geno Smith isnt special, 4 TDs and 4 Ints. Is averaging 12 yards a game running the ball. The Raiders offense is averaging 18 points a game,

Being on the road may not be an advantage because of the  transient  crowd that go to games. Lots of Bear fans will be there.

38-16 Bears will win Caleb 4 TDs.

You should see soldier field for raider games, they turn out. Raider nation is real as Bears nation is.

Maxx Crosby is a load but has only 2 sacks and 11 pressures on the year. In the first 3 games the only good OL was the Chargers and they were banged up. I think we can scheme and chip Maxx enough to not have him affect the game.

Yeah, Crosby will get his pressures and probably a sack, but none of his effort has really ever equated to anything for the team. Since he joined them in 2019, they have a losing record and only one season with a record above .500.

Thru 3 weeks, the Bears are the best team in the league collectively on 3rd Down. The Ben Johnson and Dennis Allen effect.

I'm pretty sure I've never seen that in my lifetime.

Looks like no Loveland:

Wright, Edwards, and Jarrett were already out. Loveland hasn't been a big part of the offense, but hopefully they will get more out of him as the season goes on, especially for a top 10 pick.

Loveland has a lot of work to do when he comes back. Tyler Warren has been really good right away. Loveland has been invisible, and now hurt. Not a good look for him.

Don't forget he missed most of the offseason with injury, and the Bears knew about that and still drafted him. Warren seemed like the pick until he wasn't.

Bear rookies seem to take longer to show their worth.  I was concerned about Odunze, especially after Nabers and Thomas Jrs rookie season, but now he is looking the part. How about Caleb.  It is still for Rome and Odunze but they are showing glimpses.

Exactly right on.

We also need to consider both teams. Our WR room is stacked with awesome targets for Caleb, all wanting the ball. Rome, DJ, Zacc, Kmet, and now Burden are stepping up. If Warren were on our team, he would not be receiving the same number of targets as he does with Indy.

That being said, I wouldn't be at all surprised if by the end of the season, Loveland's stats are better than Warren's.

MIN lost to PIT, now 2-2.  WAS lost to ALT, now 2-2, the Bears next opponent out of the bye.

I would be shocked if Loveland beat out Warren considering Warren leads all TEs in the NFL thru 3 weeks, but Loveland needs to get on the field and get some targets to have a chance to do that.

Swift drops the ball that hits him in the hands on 3rd Down, then Taylor punts the ball for only 46 yards. How can this guy boot 70 yarders in college and now is kicking 25 yards less? Makes no sense.
