Rookies D-linemen take longer to become first string rotation since there is a huge jump from college to pros in strength and knowledge to overcome. If the Bears can shed some cap as another post was started by Mongo, i believe, they might try to add a legit pass rusher via trade. I would rather build thru the draft, but if we a knocking on NFC div leaders door, the time is now. For the dline, Dexter will probably be asked to beef up a little more and become the full time 1T. He simply isn't a 3T. He still doesn't have a get off on the snap. On passing downs, Sweat, Turner, Dayo and Booker would be a possibility. I don't like Turner and Dayo right now, due to their injury status. I expect a heavy investment on defense in the draft, with the only offensive players being OL and RB. I don't believe we make a big trade OR signing for a stud EDGE player. (The only way I see that occurring is if we also trade away some of our assets). It could happen. It's unfortunate that Jarrett, Dayo, Dexter and Turner were busts this year.

Somewhere on the Dline we need a dude. If not two.

Both seem like good team mates.
BearFan PHX
I agree. we need at least two new dogs on the D line. It's incredible the rest of the team has carried us here without a pass rush. Watching Jordan Love sit comfortably in a clean pocket for 5 seconds at a time was brutal. And when we try to create pressure blitzing, we get burned. The simple answer is we need a real pass rush from the front four. Add that to this team, and you can see where we are headed. The way it's looking, the pick will be 31 or 32... with that said, the trade value is less and the draft prospect more raw. I know Poles has already done a lot of homework and by the sounds of it could possibly had Jermaine Johnson DE NYJ at the deadline if everyone was on board. His value was estimated a 2nd round pick. If NYJ gets antsy this draft, I'd test those waters again. He is young and a disrupter. Sherman Turner will be back and the Bears liked him at DE, especially on run downs. He will be in the mix inside and outside. Booker is showing promise, so it will be a mystery on how they approach this.

I have no idea what that will be though, but it wouldnt shock me to have two new starters on the DL, and even more new faces in the rotation. I go back to he’s got a ton of warts but is already above average and those warts are absolutely fixable with work and good coaching and I think we have the coaching and he seems to have the work ethic! This is hard as we can get caught up in the quick flash and sizzle but he is just consistently getting better and I think year 3 will be another big step forward. I also think when they get Burden and Rome back we will see a Caleb who is even more ready to work his progressions etc. Jahdae might have a nice future in the slot too here. adam
Lions were 15-2 last year and 12-5 in 2024. So 27-7 with Ben Johnson at OC. This year they are 8-7. They hit their two-year loss total in 15 games without him.

Yes and in the few minutes of the 4th quarter I saw their was a clear lack of discipline and execution on many plays (drops, bad passes, even the blatant OPI at end of the game which is St. Brown thinking there is no way the refs will call this - hint: he wasn't in a Packer uniform). Seems like GB would march the whole field were the Bears were 3 and out. I almost feel the Bears need a stud or two at DT more than the DE. Billings is not the same force as he was a year or two ago.
