adam
PART DEUX in our house. Biggest game since 2018. Looks like Parsons may have torn is ACL, tough break for GB, but that significantly changes this game. DEN just put up 34 on GBs defense and the Bears scored 21 (would've been 24) last week with Parsons in all game. So the Bears should be projected to score 27 or 28. They may have lost Watson too, but that is too soon to know. He has 5 TDs in the last 5 games and had scored 2 against the Bears. That would be another huge loss. Bears4Ever_34 Posted yesterday at 04:07 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 04:07 AM I really hope Watson is out for at least this week. They are a different offense with him out there. Either way, the Bears have to win this game. The Parsons loss is significant. The Packers might still be psychologically affected by it with the short turn around on Saturday. The Bears need to come out hot in that first half and put that doubt back in their heads. Winning 2 out of the next 3 will clinch the division. Time to put up or shut up. DABEARSDABOMB Posted yesterday at 04:29 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 04:29 AM Hate those injuries - I want to beat them with everyone there. Want bears to learn what it takes to beat the best. Hoping we get good news on Odunze and we see Bears play their best game yet next Saturday night!!! Let’s go bears!!!

Sure but we don’t have everyone available either. We’ve learned to beat a lot of teams with our backups and we went down to the last seconds with a depleted roster against the Packers. Nobody ever gives the Bears any props for playing with backups. Bear Down. Beat the Packers!
Stinger226 Posted yesterday at 06:08 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 06:08 AM We lead the league in missed games for players in the league. So we can only play the team in front of us. We have played games with 6 starters out on defense and no one said they wish we were healthy. Caleb had a good game , We ran the ball well, and TOs. BJ said we will be playing our best ball in December. Sure Cleveland isn't a good team but their defense is third in the league with the top pass rusher and it didn't slow us down. Stinger226 Posted yesterday at 09:54 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 09:54 AM The betting line has the Packers favored by 3 points. I think I'm making my bets now.

It will probably swing towards CHI once Parsons is confirmed out.
adam Posted yesterday at 06:14 PM Author Report Share Posted yesterday at 06:14 PM Parsons torn ACL, out 9+ months, brutal this late in the season, will probably miss 3-4 weeks to start next season as well.

We'd better take advantage of a weakened defense, because I have no doubt the Packers are going to come out firing. They will use Parsons' injury as a rallying cry. We will need our defense to step up, and for BJ, Caleb, & Company to work some magic. The surest way to get a ticket to the dance is to win our division. We need to defeat Green Bay to have a realistic chance to do so.
adam
Another cool nugget amongst others for Saturday's game. If the Bears win, Williams will be back to .500 as a QB for the first time since Week 7 of last season after the Hail Mary game loss. Talk about a cleansing. His TD run was the game breaker. He had a rushing and receiving TD against the Broncos as well.

I saw that they deployed him a lot on receiving plays. I think even the commentator noted how he looked a lot like a receiver. This could be an issue if he’s paired up with our LBs or CJGJ All of which are bad at pass pro.

Actually if Edmunds is back,he is good at defending the pass.
Stinger226
Caleb pushes back on Shady McCoy for saying S Sanders would play better than Caleb in Sundays game. Caleb gives him crap and I love it.
adam
From initial reports, in addition to no Parsons (61) or Wyatt (who missed the last game), there are reports that Watson (44), Zach Tom (53), and Evan Williams (69) may be out. Snap counts from last game in parentheses. Tom being out is massive, as he has been an anchor on their line. Watson has always burnt the Bears and Williams has been a very solid player at Safety. Zero excuses for Saturday for the Bears. If they can't beat a depleted Packers team without Parsons, they probably don't deserve to be in the playoffs anyway. The Bears will for sure have Stevenson back, who missed the last game against GB. They may also get Edmunds back too, which would be the closest this defense has been to full strength since Week 1 (just missing Gordon), but with the addition of CJGJ, and the emergence of Jackson at LB, the defense looks ready for this challenge. On offense, with no Parsons, and possibly no Williams on the backend. This is not the same GB defense they just played, it will be worse, and Williams will have more time. The last time they met their injury report (the previous Wednesday) looked pretty significant (below). See that Tom was listed as limited back then. Must have some sort of malingering issue. Speaking of, hearing that Odunze is struggling to get over whatever he has going on with his foot. There's been talk of shutting him down for the rest of the year. Tom only played 24 snaps against DEN. He and Williams both were hurt in the 2nd half I believe.
adam
Line down to GB -1.5. With Parsons, GB as a team, has 33 sacks. Without Parsons+Wyatt, the rest of the roster has 16.5. The Bears have 29. For INTs, the Bears have 21, GB has 7.
