Playoffs!!!

Something that seemed like wishful thinking in Ben Johnson's first year as HC with a completely different coaching staff and scheme, but wow, 2 weeks left to decide seeding.

Lions are all but eliminated after losing to the Steelers in Detroit, and now would need to win out and have GB lose out to make the playoffs.

Crazy ending in Steelers game…wow…playoffs…let’s go!!! Don’t stop now Bears!!!

Crazy game, it seemed like the refs were doing everything in their power to keep Detroit in that game. Then on 4th and goal, an OPI, forward progress clearly stopped (by about 4 yards), to have it come down to an official's discussion was wild.

Wild game, OPI wipes out go-ahead walk-off TD, and PIT wins. We are, as you announced, a playoff team!

All eyes on SF at IND on MNF tomorrow night. A SF loss could help for seeding. I just want them to play a long physical game so they are weaker next weekend against the Bears.

Bears play at SF on a short week and could play there again for the big dance.

Bears get 2 extra days rest with Christmas wedged in there. Might be a high scoring affair as SF's defense is not that good without Warner and Bosa.  We will see how they look on MNF.

Let’s hope it’s the first of a shitton of playoffs for these players!!!

Moore has 129 regular season games without a playoff appearance, Billings is at 107g, Jaylon Johnson at 75g (he missed the one in 2020), Daly is at 74g, and Dalman is at 72g. Jaylon is the longest tenured Bear without a playoff appearance.

This is feeling more and more sustainable every week.

The ending to that Lions game was ridiculous. The Lions got every questionable call, and the Steelers kept shooting themselves in the foot with boneheaded decisions. That fat TE for PIT ruined two scoring drives, one his own fumble and the other was a penalty-negating touchdown that kept Detroit alive.

I'm just glad we don't have to fret anymore about needing another win to get in, and can instead focus on trying to get the highest seed possible.

What's amazing is we did this with Caleb not at the height of his game. Wait until he gets consistent. This is a 40 point a game team. The modern NFL is about offense and we have arrived.

Next year:

Caleb - Bagent

Swift -Monongai- Brown - rookie

DJ- Rome-Burden-Walker-rookie

Loveland - Kmet

If the Bears trade any players it will on the defensive side of the ball. They're building a killer offense, what would they subtract?

What a turn around in Ben Johnson’s first season. Looks like a fantastic signing for the Bears because it improved us, but made the Lions worse.

Poles needs a pat on the back for finally putting together a strong roster, especially what he achieved at the guard and centre of the O line.

Let's hope we can at least get the 2nd seed and host a playoff game.

Finally, Merry Christmas to my Bears friends, this year has been so different to what we have had to put up with recently. One more win and we will win what is likely the hardest division in the NFL.

This is amazing for year one under BJ.  That said I hope we make the best of it.  One and done after this season would leave a bad taste in our mouths but might be OK for future development.

We have a chance to be really healthy by that first playoff game and it might be interesting to see how well this team can play at close to 100%.  Out pass rush is still dogshit so that will likely be our achilles heel when we go up against the best teams.

If the Packers lose on Saturday our division championship is locked in.  It would be interesting to see if Ben plays at least part of the SF game with backups.  The only thing that matters now is being the best team we can be in “Week 18” no matter who our opponent is.  There’s an outside chance we could get the #1 seed but I don’t expect that.

Any thoughts?

Wed be locked in, but still playing for home field advantage, so I think we will play starters?
