for sure, and as the Caleb and the Bears Offense improves, so will Doyle's stock. Captaining the decline of the Eagles Offense isnt gonna get him a head coaching job.

He knows he's not ready yet, besides working for a SB winning team will get him better job opportunities in the future.

I wonder if this is one where BJ kind of encouraged him to at least put his name out so he can go through the interview process and gain experience.  Feels like BJ is one who is very comfortable in his own skin and certainly has lived the assistant coach journey so wants to be uber supportive of his coaches and this can be part of it - hey go see what else is out there, always good to know (and I support it) and at the same time, I'm hoping you'll stay but you'll also develop better experience for future interviews.

That makes a lot of sense.

We all saw Johnson himself did interviews in years where he returned to the Lions too.

I think the influence of BJ is already being respected when coaches are getting attention in his first year. It's going to get worse the more successful we become. That's a good thing, because it also will bring in good replacements.

Not so fast, it looks like Baltimore has reached out for their OC position. I don't know if Doyle is a good fit there with a vet QB, and older skill position players in Andrews, Hopkins, and Henry.

Lamar wanted the OC fired.   Owner or maybe GM listened.  After their playoff loss Harbaugh was told  he could stay but had to fire the OC.  Now he’s in NY.

If Lamar has major input in the OC hire, you think he wants a OC that never called plays before? I doubt it. You would have to have an amazing interview to sell that.

Do you think he wants a vet OC who is not going to tolerate any BS from his QB?  Or the young new OC who is more likely to take input from the QB?  So far I see them interviewing Declan and the Lions WR coach.  
 

now there are always things we don’t know such as if anyone has quietly made clear they are not interested.

I'm sure Lamar has input and don't think his criteria would be, I need a soldier. I would say he finds someone like minded with the offense. That may be Doyle, we don't know.

Man Cleveland and NYJ are the most dysfunctional franchises. I think we are finally out of that rut. No one wants to go there and when they get a new Head Coach, other coaches want to leave.

It was right to mention us in dysfunctional franchises. I never thought that before but outside sources looking at us think so.

He ascended quickly. This is not a problem. I read where BJ wants to bring in a coach from Detroit he worked with and now has an opening for him. As much as the league is already raiding the BJ chain, other coaches will want to come here. 

This podcast throws out all the past connections with BJ and they brought up the Boston college OC is already here, Will Lawing. Maybe BJ was playing 4th level Chess and knew everything that was going to happen. 

The ones I don't want gone is the OL coach and Randle El- Al Harris. I don't think any others aren't replaceable.

I have a feeling he’s a Ben Johnson coat tailer.  Something tells me he’ll be unemployed by the end of next season.

Only if they fire the HC after 1 year.  I think he will be a good OC and maybe should have been more here with all those 4th down and goals we blew.
