16 hours ago16 hr comment_234350 Heard today Zah Fraizer was let go. Apparently whatever jacked him up last year never materialized into a dedication to playing in the NFL. Also they restructured Brabbury's contract getting 1 mil in reduction but gave him 1 more mil in guaranteed money. Report
14 hours ago14 hr comment_234354 Frazier thing sucks for everyone. The Bears traded Pick #109 and drafted Hyppolite and Frazier. Got literally zero out of that pick. BUF got a productive DL with that pick btw. Report

For all of his God given speed, he looked like he had cement shoes. Hopefully his brain catches up with his talent... Report

I thought he would be a sleeper last year. Then he sits out with the personal issue. I again had hopes he would shine this year. Obviously, unresolved. I would love to know just what caused this mess. Report
10 hours ago10 hr comment_234364 The rumors are some kind of mental issue. I have no idea what is specifically claimed tho. Maybe suicidal, maybe trans, maybe all kinds of things, so no real info or point to speculate, but I do hear it was a mental issue. Maybe just anxiety didnt feel like he belonged? Whatever it is, it didnt resolve itself, and we drafted Malik. Report

Of course we’d all like to see him surprise us. I like the fact Poles hedges his bets and I like the rookie we drafted. Report

BUF used that pick on Deone Walker, who is a starting DT for the Bills and would be a first round pick in a redraft. The Bears were weak at DT and Poles decided to trade out of that spot and then pick Hyppolite and Frazier with the new picks. That is a terrible exchange. The Bears scouting staff seems biased one way or another. It seems to not work more than it works. So you get Monangai in the 7th but miss on Velus, Pickens, Scott, etc in earlier rounds. I know every team misses on picks but in 5 years Poles has wasted more than an entire draft's worth of picks. That miss rate is too high. He needs to hit on this 2026 draft and all future drafts otherwise there will be a steep dropoff in talent when Caleb's new money hits. Report

If I remember correctly wasnt that a AL Harris influenced pick? It seemed like he was panning for him. The draft is influenced by the coaches that have input combined with the scouting dept. Easy to criticized Poles but he wont be remembered for missing on Pickens and Velus Jones. Hiring BJ and drafting Caleb will be on his headstone. Clearly BJ has an influence on the draft and then we have to assume Flus did also. This is all history now, BJ and Poles will be tied to together as we look back on these years in the history of the Bears. They say if you get a couple of stars and a few contributors, that is a successful draft. Last year is all we have to judge and its looking like a win win. Frazier or a miss on Hyppollite will not matter. Of course if you judge a draft on just one year you will be wrong 75% of the time.Players like Hakim Hicks bounced around the league for 3 years before he found a home here. As a third round pick of NO , he failed for 3 years. Examples last year were Duhson Wright, a PS squad player for the Vikings and DeMarco Jackson . Wright was in yr 5 in the league and Jackson in yr 4. I think waiting to see what a few years in the league is more prudent that calling everyone a first year bust. There was a chart I saw that give the % of hits according to what round a player was drafted. I'll try to find the chart but I remember the third round is a 25% hit rate. That doesnt refer to making a roster but is related to becoming a good starter. Report
