Bears keep Kellen Davis

Featured Replies

I don't mind and maybe we add a guy like Dwayne Allen if he falls to round three. He had poor workouts in the combine. Not sure if he improves at his pro day.

I like Davis and feel he has been short changed do to the offensive systems run, I think he will be utilized much more this year with Tice as OC and might just be a heck of a lot better than many realize.

I like. options were drying up... It'd be nice to see what a 2012 OC can do with him.

per everyone. 2 year deal

If anyone on this team likes the TE it is Tice... heres hoping he can do something...

I'd say he gets one year to prove something. If he ends up doing nothing again, he'll be released after the end of next season.

Davis is a solid TE and I think he should get better. Perfectly fine for this move. I'd also like them to resign Okoye.

Agreed about Davis. He's solid. Far from great. With the money Carlson got, it's important we resigned him.

I agree about Okoye. I'm surprised we haven't made that happen yet.

Still wouldn't mind another TE in the draft.

Maybe, but the TE draft class is terrible. I'd have said free agency, but that market has quickly dried up. Matt Spaeth is a great blocker, he's big, and he'll catch the ball if they forget he's there.

Tice doesn't want a completely different look than Martz. We'll probably continue to make the TE position more of a blocking position.

Already posted this.

We just have to roll the dice and hope he realizes his potenial. I still would like them to bring a pass catching TE in the draft even if he only sees the field 30% of the time.

How does it look at the bottom of the draft (4th-6th rounds?)

The Bears shouldn't spend a top 3 rounder on a TE now unless they really like someone, but trying to find a draft and develop guy would still be reasonable.

Maybe the 2 young undrafted TEs they kept last year fit that category Adams and Smith.

I agree. I love this signing. It's minimal and it allows for improvement from a player with potential. It also doesn't cost a lot since the Bears still need to spend elsewhere.

He doesnt want to change the look just what plays are called and will use the TE more than last year's 18 catches 5 TD's....look for him more in the red zone
