Fumbles are far worse than interceptions.] A QB is often victimized. WR blows a route and cuts in instead of out. Ball deflected off of WRs hands. QB is forced to throw ill-advised pass when time is short and his team is trailing. In each case, at least the ball is downfield. Fumbles, especially in the backfield, are hard to blame on anyone else. I would love to see a video showing all of the fumbles he committed in college. (I am sure our coaching staff has such a collection). Fumbles when running beyond the LOS? Fumbles during a strip sack? Bad exchange from center? What does he need to correct?

I see where the Lions are printing money to build their roster. They just announced two signings. OT Sewell- 4yrs 112 Million WR St Brown - 4 yrs 120 Million Now, if it took 30 million per year to sign St Brown to an extension, what would it cost the Bears when it is time to resign Moore? 40 Million per year? This shows how important it will be to have a WR1 on a 5 year rookie deal. We also have to consider CW. IF he is as good as we believe he is, and proves it on the field from day one, you can bet by the end of year 3 he will be holding out for a renegotiated contract. Bank it! We have to be prepared to maintain the roster Poles is building.

I just saw another mock draft on nbcsportschicago.com. They mentioned a forth round pick as a solid OC candidate, one that could be a starter within a year. I don't recall anyone mentioning this guy, so I'd be curious if any of you have an opinion on: Hunter Nourzad, IOL, or Penn State. Good? Bad? So-So? LOL

I've watched every NFL draft since the early 1980s. That is when I begin getting pumped up for anything NFL: training camp, preseason games, and finally, the season to start. I'm totally addicted. This year has taken on an even greater sense of urgency. Like everyone else, I don't think I have ever felt this excited going into the draft. Let the season begin! 134 days and counting!!

That's the problem. You have been super sensitive ever since your issues with Stinger. Just because I said you were the only one I knew of who was trying to put a positive spin on the ND game doesn't mean I was busting your balls. Hell, there are over 8 billion people on Earth, over 340 million in the US. I'm sure there must be others who share your opinion. 😉 Please, just lighten up. I am a super passive individual. Maybe ND, with such a big lead after scoring 3 TDs on CW's INTs in the 1st half, was playing a more conservative game in the 2nd half? Prevent D. Substitutions? No, he didn't quit. But with one TD in the entire game, it is hard to say he turned it around in the 2nd half. It's no big deal. Let's not argue over such a stupid point when we should both be looking forward to Thursday night when CW holds up a Bears' jersey with the #1 on it.

Yep, he went 23/37 and threw one TD and three INTs for 199 YDS. Everyone, including CW, says it like it was. A BAD game. No one except you tries to make it sound positive. It wasn't. He had a bad game—one game of shame over the course of a brilliant three-year college career. I like CW and have high expectations. The article listed is very positive. It points out how three top NFL quarterbacks had a game like CW's ND fiasco. They certainly prove that one bad college game does not make them a high-risk prospect.

Then I watched a different game.

That is a great article. It starts off on a negative note on Williams, but don't be fooled. It shows the similarities between Williams' terrible game against ND and the really bad games that Mahomes, J Allen, and L Jackson had in college (and how those games, just like the ND game for CW, caused some concerns on draft day). Basically, it says three of the top QBs in the NFL today had games in college that compared to the ND game, but it certainly misled the naysayers. This very detailed article is well worth reading for those wanting to load up on info on Williams before Thursday's draft.

I remember reading, shortly after his signing, a critique of our new OC by a Seattle fan. His complaint was that he liked to push the ball downfield too much, going for big plays and that it wasn't a balanced offense. There were too many passes and not enough runs. If this critique holds any truth (and I can't confirm if it does), it could make for an interesting dynamic. Caleb's 'hero ball' mentality, combined with the talented WRs/TEs at his disposal, could potentially give us a high-scoring offense.
