2-15 is a real possibility. Underdogs in every remaining game. Then what? Would that change your outlook on Poles, Flus, Getsy, Fields? For me it would. I know they are not all equal, but man, 2 wins and what could be 14 straight losses to end the season? I doubt that happens, they will probably luck into a win or two and go 3-14 or 4-13, but 5 wins is really a success now, which is disappointing given the start. The craziest part is this team is literally 3-4 plays away from 5-1. Then if you go the other way, they could also easily be 0-6. So I have mixed feelings. I just have a feeling (after 6 games) that Poles is not it. Velus pick was bad and l…

So the Bears had 3 huge trades this year, Mack, Quinn, then Smith. Besides creating a ton of cap space (which is hard to quantify), here is how the other teams are doing so far compared to what the Bears got/have: LAC - Mack, Wild Card loss, $27.5M AAV for 2 more years. BAL - Smith, Wild Card loss, $20M AAV for 5 more years. PHI - Quinn - 9 tackles, 1 sack, 1 game played since November 1st, 2023 UFA for Brisker, 2023 - 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th Due to comp picks, the Bears would not have gotten anything if they just let Quinn walk this offseason as they are projected to sign too many to get a comp pick, so getting anything for him was a great deal …

So looking thru team stats, I noticed a few things. First, the Bears team is not as bad as I thought. I figured that they were bottom 5 on offense and the defense was bottom 2. So for offensive yardage, the Bears are 24th overall, Passing yards - 20th, Rushing yards - 22nd. Defense is 29th overall, Passing yards - 27th, Rushing yards - 16th. So on offense, I didn't expect the passing yards to be that good, but expected rushing to be much better. On defense, I thought passing was going to be worse and was shocked the rushing defense was that good. There are many ways to take this, but when I looked at the rest of the league, it made s…

So I was looking back as far as the 2017 draft to see where QBs were slotted on the Draft Big Boards prior to the drafts. This one site takes a collection of most major big boards on the internet and collates them into a consensus board. I really like this as it takes out some biases and other factors. Some big boards are BPA, others are sort of slotted like their projected draft positions. It makes me sick that the Bears drafted Trubisky, AND traded up for him no less. On the Consensus Big Board for 2017, Trubisky was ranked 13th, Watson was 15th, and Mahomes was 22nd (which is crazy looking back). Myles Garrett was #1. Looking back at the most accurate draft projec…

A trade for an early 5th rounder. They got their guy who some expected to go at #122, at #144 so depending on the trade value, it seems like a great pick. It cost next year's 4th. So assuming they are a fringe playoff team, that pick is in the 120s for 144.

OK! So instead of rehashing what an awful situation we are in, and how much I want Vrabel lol I thought I'd start a thread about good football. Good coaching, smart plays. So here's an awesome fake punt, and the backstory on how they got there is even better. THAT is coaching!

So far it feels a little watered down compared to recent years. 3 games decided by 2 TDs or more. WAS seems to be blessed with the best luck. Down by 4, TB fumbles on their own 13 yard line, 4 plays later, WAS scores a TD and never trails again. They won by 3, so that play was the deciding factor and at least a 7 pt swing if not more. The best part of this weekend was seeing the GB frauds get sent packing where Love throws for 3 INTs and 0 TDs. Their only TD drive was when Jacobs accounted for 55 of the 78 yards. Herbert was just as bad if not worse than Love against HOU. He threw 4 picks and was sacked 4 times. So Herbert + Love threw more INTs …

MJD was a very solid NFL RB, I have no clue why he is in NFL media on the official website posting a mock like this: https://www.nfl.com/news/maurice-jones-drew-2025-nfl-mock-draft-1-0-jets-land-travis-hunter-bears-broncos-raiders-pick-rbs I couldn't even get out of the top 10. He has Hunter going 7th AFTER McMillan, then with Graham and Warren on the board (among others), he has the Bears taking Henderson at 10 as RB2. Seriously, this has to be for clicks, otherwise, this is embarrassing.

I was looking at next year's cap and there is not much room. Players that probably won't be here are Edmunds, Kmet, Moore and Jarrett. I say this because the first three are cap friendly cuts without huge dead money. Jarrett is simply not a need and high salary. (Wasted signing so far). The 25 draft saw us select Moore, Kmet and Jarrett's potential replacements. That Dayo signing looks to be a bust as well, but I don't know if he's cut-able. I know this has all been discussed before, but I thought the 25 draft was cool inclusion. Who else? Kiran?

Jonathan Gannon was really good as a DC, never worked out as a HC. With him now available, do you consider bringing someone like him on in 2026, just keep DA, or promote from within?

Without considering the draft picks, which right now seem to favor the Bears, it seems like every other NFC North team got worse this offseason. GB lost 2 guys on their O-Line, plus Quay Walker, Rashan Gary, and Wicks and Doubs at WR. At some point in the last few years both Doubs and Wicks were anointed as WR1s. GB's big add, Javon Hargrave who was subpar last year in a MIN defense that was really good. They traded for Zaire Franklin, who is a less dynamic Quay Walker. They also lost Malik Willis who was arguably the best QB2 in the NFL. So to me, they will take a step back. They also lost their DC. DET lost Monty, Decker, Glasgow, Reader, and Raymond and only added Cade…

Just saw this on PFT. I never saw this on the Trib, and even when I looked at Haugh's articles, didn't see it. Either it was taken down, is a piece of another article and I missed it, or I am just blind. Last option the most likely. Honestly, just not a big deal for me. I always thought it was crap that a star can't go into public w/o people getting in their face for autographs. Anyway, here is the piece, Cutler Alienating Bears Fans? Posted by Aaron Wilson on May 31, 2009, 4:44 p.m. Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, the rocket-armed Pro Bowl passer acquired this offseason in a blockbuster trade from the Denver Broncos, apparently isn’t makin…

Bears | Cutler has spoken with Marshall Comment (0) Tue, 23 Jun 2009 07:56:25 -0700 Marty O'Brien, of The Newport News Daily Press, reports Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler said he has spoken with disgruntled Denver Broncos WR Brandon Marshall and would not have a problem reuniting with Marshall if the Bears were able to land him. "I talked to 'B' a few days ago. Just checking in on him and seeing how he's doing, because I went through a similar thing that he's going through," Cutler said. "I played with Brandon for three years and I think he's one of the best receivers in the NFL. I think he can be one of the greatest ever to play. He's big and fast, and can do e…

The Bills are 1-4 and by all means already out of it. That being said I could see Buffalo trading T.O. for a 3rd or 4th round pick mid season. I mentioned it today with my buddy on the phone and sure enough ESPN Insider has mentioned this. ESPN Insider Thoughts? Would you consider it? T.O., Knox, Hester, Bennett with Forte, Olsen and Clark. I'd do it!!

from profootballtalk.com Garrett Wolfe to miss remainder of season Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on November 20, 2009 9:45 AM ET It would be hard for the Bears rushing attack to get much worse, but it just took another body blow. Backup Garrett Wolfe will miss the rest of the season with a lacerated kidney, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Sun-Times. The injury was learned about two weeks ago, but there was some hope he could return this season. "He's a great kid and it's unfortunate,'' Bears G.M. Jerry Angelo said. ``I was hoping he would start integrating more into the offense and [offensive coordinator] Ron [Turner] was using him more in practices…

One week all signs point to ditching Lovie. Next week we are keeping him regardless of the record. Now Angelo says that he will evaluate himself as well as lovie at the end of the season. Maybe I am just projecting, but I think that with this loss and crap performance in Baltimore and the likely blowout with Minnesota (in chicago) with the possibility of losing to Detroit (played well against Arizona), leaving us at 5-11, that the team will clean house. Angelo did say that money wasn't an issue. He just wants wins. http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/news/story?id=4759793

love this martz quote When I asked him once about criticism he was facing for not running enough, he said: "I could care less how many times we run the ball. The whole logic is to win the game. I could care less about balance. When I call a game, it's based on what's going on out there and what I see." http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,493985.column
