I honestly feel sorry for him. I wouldn't blame him one bit if he said screw it and walked out on this team.

1. MadLith- I love your posts, but today is a game that I could make an argument that Hester lost for the Bears. His presence did nothing today. The Bears never got great field position on punts because of him. He would've had a 0 yard catch but instead ran backwards for a loss of 6. He dropped an easy TD. Tell me...please. He did what you want: run, run, run. 35 runs, 20 passes. And the Bears offense looked like garbage for most of the game and got completely bailed out by the D/ST combo. The OL opened up very few holes. Cutler dropped back 19 times, got sacked twice, and had pressure several times. What is Martz supposed to do? Please enlighten me. Being there live, here were my thoughts: -Tebow sucks. He did nothing today. Yes, he threw for 191 yards from the 4th quarter on, but that was because of the defense the Bears were set up in. -Barber was good all game, and then he does s*** you learn not to do in 3rd grade when he went out of bounds. Imagine if the Bears got Devin Hester in the right position from the get go. He's failed at DB and has never lived up to the #1 WR that the Bears envisioned. Maybe if he was used primarily out of the slot he'd do better, or maybe not. But I think using him like Darren Sproles would've been the best way to go. Return specialist and change of pace RB. Hub Arkish brought this up and I thought this would be an excellant thought to consider. RB is alot easier to learn and Devin should grasp it pretty quickly. What if the top three OT (Martin, Reiff, Kalil) and the top three WR (Blackmon, Floyd, Jeffery) are off the board when the Bears pick? Aside from being irritated that the Bears needlessly won the last game of the season and ruined their draft pick status, what are you thinking? BPA vs. need becomes a much more interesting question at that point. Has there been any movement on a long term deal with Forte? I'm listening to the conference call and they mentioned that Forte and his agent indicated they felt disrespected by the signing of Michael Bush. Are the Bears and Forte that far apart that we haven't seen a deal yet. Was the Bush signing to give the bears a good 1-2 punch or is it insurance should Forte's deal not get done and he holds out. Im sorry to get negative but George screwed up. If Jim Harbaugh was available he was the only HC candidate in this years hiring cycle that was a NO brainer. George could have hired Jim and even if it failed no one could question why he hired Jim. If Eberflaus fails and Jim wins in MN George is going to look like the dumb ass we already know he is. As a Bear fan for many decades, it's hard to recognize the current process going on! A GM trying to build a team carefully. With all the free movement going on Brian Poles has been controlled with everything he does. I OTOH am so used to the quick fix approach now that I forgot about how Jim Finks built the first playoff team since 63. That took about 3 years and he had the same focus of building through the trenches, like the current GM. So I have to remind myself to wait for the process.

It's finally here, Draft starts tonight. A little less exciting today as we don't have a first rounder. This will our first look at how Ryan Poles runs a draft room. It's his first ever draft as GM. I'm both excited and nervous on how this will go. We have definite needs and only 6 picks. I won't focus on specific position or players but more or less what I'd like to see us do in general. Trade wise, if we do make trades I hope that we do so in a way that maximizes value. I don't want to see us sacrifice limited 2022 capitol, or borrow heavily from 2023, to not get back good value.
