Right now, with current records, we only have one game vs a prospective playoff team (LAR), and 3 games against potential playoff teams (GB and MIN x2). If we split the division and go 3-2 the rest of the way, beat the teams with 2 or less wins (BUF, SF, NYG) and lose to LAR, that's 6-3 the rest of the way without too much stretching. Week 9 at BUF (2-5) - Bills are coming off a MNF game and a short week. They have scored 81 pts on the season in 7 games. We should and need to dominate this game. I would consider resting Mack and Robinson again if they are not 100%. 5-3. Week 10 vs DET (3-4) - Lions games are always determined by which team or Stafford shows up. Are…

With the Parkey misses over 50 yards and the penalties plus 2 TDs given up on a punt block and a KR. Supposedly he is a disciple of Dave Toub but, so far I don't see any connection.

Everyone has talked about how bad the team as looked with Mack hobbled by the ankle the last two games. However, we were a good defense without him last year, and Floyd was a big part of it. This year Floyd looks more like a UDFA than a first round pick. His numbers have actually gotten worse every year and he has never played more than 12 games per season. I know there is still some time, but if he continues to play like this, I don't see them picking up his 5th year option.

He was the biggest story during the preseason, and is almost the forgotten defender 6 games in. He is 2nd on the team in tackles, but I haven't seen him put a complete, dominant game together yet. He was supposed to be the ball hawk tackling machine, yet there have only been a couple of standout plays to date. What do you think the issue is? Lack of reps in preseason, Fangio?

  7. After two straight losses, this is a must win if we want to have any chance at making the playoffs. If we can't beat the Jets at Soldier Field, we do not deserve to sniff the playoffs. We are favored by 9 and need to dominate for 60 minutes and put this team away. I am hoping for a better game all around. Please just have Cunningham kneel for every kickoff kicked in the end zone. Bears 31-17 Detroit is playing Seattle, Green Bay is playing in LA against the Rams, and Minnesota draws New Orleans at home. They all could easily lose, giving us a chance to leapfrog back to the top of the Division.

Why were we putting Mack in coverage so often and leaving our first round pick on the bench? Put all the player mistakes aside this is one strategic decision by Fangio that I still can't figure out. If you want to drop 8 in coverage put the best 8 coverage guys on the field especially when Mack has a bum ankle.

  9. It's hard not to be disappointed after a 2nd straight loss which drops us to last place in the Division. As bad as we have been, we could easily be 6-0. 23-17 Lead with 2:39 left in 4th Quarter, lose to GB 24-23. 28-21 Lead with 3:17 left in 4th Quarter, lose to Miami 31-28 in OT. 24-21 Lead with 12:04 left in 3rd Quarter, lose to NE 38-31 with ball on 1-yard line as time expires.

Why the hell can we not find a better option than Josh Bellamy on the field. I've hated him since he dropped two dozen (☺) passes in one game a few years ago, yet he's still here, messing up plays.

I'm curious how everyone thinks the game plan to beat the pats should be for the bears? I think they need to run the ball and keep Brady off the field as much as possible. We can't beat them in a shoot out. Time to use Cohen, Cunningham, and Howard. Take advantage of our OL and attack their line and punish their def. and not try and be slick. Some quick passes to the tight ends. Not saying we should not be aggressive, but this should be a game where the run sets up the pass and stick to running before anything else. I don't think there is anyway we can beat them by out scoring them. But easier said than done.

  12. After the Miami loss, this game is way more important. After starting 3-1, it will suck to drop to 3-3 after 6 games. 4-2 would keep us in 1st place in the Division regardless of what GB or MIN do. Detroit and Jacksonville both beat NE when NE was on the road. The Bears have a chance to do the same. The Bears +43 points differential is tied for 3rd in the league only behind LAR and BAL. The Bears are 4th best in points allowed, lead the league in INTs per game (2), are 3rd in sacks per game (3.6) even after not getting one against Miami. Based on Wilson's performance, you have to think Edelman will be a main target for Brady. We need to get pressure and get…

How much conversation has transpired this week between Nagy and Reid? Trust this, Reid wants us win badly enough to offer a ton of assistance. Let the games begin!

Lost in the frustration in the loss against MIami is the fact that, quietly, Trubisky has moved into 7th place in QB Rating in the NFL. He sits behind Mahomes (5th and trending down) and Goff (6th) and ahead of in descending order: Wilson, Wentz, Cousins, Rodgers, Brady, Roethlisberger, Dalton, Stafford, Newton, Watson, Carr, Luck, Prescott, among others. As I always say QB Rating has it's demerits so I'm not married to it as the best way, or even a good way, to evaluate QBs. Nonetheless 7 games into the season there is some statistical relevance to it. His surge forward two weeks ago was "solely" because of Tampa's bad defense. He continued playing well ov…

I think this is complete BS speculation by Clayton. The Bears are building something good on offense and Howard is a big part of that. At this point we have legit playoff aspirations and will need Howard to get some tough yards. https://bearswire.usatoday.com/2018/10/09/philadelphia-eagles-chicago-bears-jordan-howard-trade-jay-ajayi-injury/ Former ESPN insider John Clayton told Sports Radio 94 WIP in Philadelphia that the Eagles could be eyeing Howard as a trade target.

According to Nagy, we're in a "good spot at LG" with Kush and Daniels but we just signed a guy who played for two years in KC but has otherwise bounced around the league. Roster moves: The Bears on Monday officially placed outside linebacker Sam Acho on injured reserve and signed offensive lineman Bryan Witzmann.

So if my understanding is correct, tomorrow is the day the NFL can announce a change for the Bears vs Pats game to be moved to prime time Sunday night. Any chance they do?

This from King's FMIA: " Looks bad for the Packers. So hurt, and so reliant on the quarterback who clearly is not whole." Oh, wa, wa wa. Poor Puckers. Who cried for us the last few years when injuries destroyed? My wish is that they linger in limbo for years with Rodgers. We've got the D to make him nuts now. So, Mr. King, don't expect me or other Bears fans to feel the least bit of sympathy. Be aware: these Bears are FOR REAL!

  19. Here we go, fresh off the bye week, looking to extend to a 4-game winning streak, something we haven't seen with this team since Lovie's last season. In Miami, hot weather, tropical storm coming through before the game (hopefully it doesn't linger). Miami has lost their last two games 65-24 (NE and CIN), so we should have some chances on both sides of the ball. Ironically, our last two games, we have outscored opponents 64-24. Their leading rusher is Frank Gore, in sort of a 2-headed monster setup with Drake. Neither are very effective. Leading receivers are Stills and Wilson. Tannehill has 5 INTs, has been sacked 11 times and has lost 3 fumbles. Mack should h…

With the GB loss, Bears are guaranteed to go into Week 6 with 1st Place in the Division. Hilarious that Crosby missed 4 FG's and an XP (13 pts) and they only lost by 8.
