Strength vs Strength, Our Defense vs Their Offense I think this comes down to which Fitzpatrick shows up. He started to turn the ball over last week, which bodes well for us. However, Fitz has over double the passing yards than Trubisky in the same amount of games and only 6 more completions. 410 passing yards per game seems unsustainable, so Fitz should trend down from that high. Our offense will need to score more than 16 to win. Bears 24-20

The Bucs have informed free agent Jeff Garcia that he is no longer in their plans. "With a new head coach, they want somebody pulling the trigger that they can mold," said Garcia. The 39-year-old will likely have to compete for a job no matter where he lands, possibly Minnesota. The Bills traded DT John McCAargo to Indy for a 4th round pick--as per profootballtalk.com. This is significant since McCargo was the guy that Buffalo traded up with Chicago to get in 2006. The Bears gave up the 26th pick for the #42 & the #73 pick. We took Danieal Manning & Dusty Dvoracek. Buffalo would have been one helluva a lot better off standing pat and taking Dvoracek. Not to mention this trade gave us the flexibility to draft Devin Hester. 2006 was also the year that Bears fans were screaming for Angelo to try and trade up to draft Vernon Davis. I know it is early to talk draft, but building things is an interest of mine. Right now we are on the bye week and sitting at around a top 10 pick. Talkbears is a site I enjoy because it is small and the group that participates has passion and knowledge. I have spent nearly 15 years here it seems give or take. This offseason, we should have the resources to add some great players draft and free agent wise. Which way should a young GM go?
