I'm starting to hear rumors about free agent HB Nick Chubb going to Chicago. I've heard it from a few totally different sources, but no one yet like Adam Schefter. But it does make sense. One Cleveland reporter says he is hearing rumors that talks are heating up between Chubb and an "NFC North Team" without naming which one. It's a logical thing to speculate on. Maybe they are talking, still doesn't mean they will get a deal done, or maybe it's all smoke, i have no idea. But it makes sense. So I started watching Chubb's highlights, and as I'm sure we all know already the guy has been a beast. He was slowed down last year by a 2 year old devastating knee injury, and h…

. . . The Bears behind the scenes draft video this year. I’m assuming they do one because they do such a good job and they are really popular. But there’s so much speculation about the Bears getting sniped on their picks, like wanting Kelvin Banks or Treyveon Henderson, or Cam Skattebo. Are we going to be able to use Bright in the videos? Will they cut around it? Was it all fake news and it turns out they got guys they actually targeted? Eagerly waiting for it to drop.

All of these are completely scientific and can't be disputed until they are incorrect after the season.

We need to look at the overall off-season to see what Poles has accomplished this year. Got the best coach on the market and spent good money on assistants. Added to both lines with quality additions. Added contracts for Gordon and Jackson who were on last years. The draft gave us 4 quality players in the first 4 picks. 2 potential all pro types and 2 first year contributors. The rest of the draft gave us high risk high upside players. Dane Brugler has the most complete draft guide on the market. Well respected in football circles. We ended up with 4 top 100 prospects. Loveland -11, Burden-27, Turner -56, Trapilo -79 He had mentions …

No thread this year. Kinda indicates our lack of desperation to find talent on the fringes on the NFL world, which is a good sign. https://www.windycitygridiron.com/2025/4/26/24417474/chicago-bears-2025-undrafted-free-agent-news-and-rumor-tracker-udfa-nfl-draft These UDFAs are reported to have signed with the Bears. Honest question here. It just seems like he is getting the smartest guy in the room syndrome, and that effectively killed Pace after the Trubisky and Shaheen picks. It felt like every pick other than Burden was overdrafted, while other teams got great value. Coming into the draft with 3 picks in the top 41, I am just not feeling it this year. I hope I am wrong. Then you add the trades with BUF that lost value and the only saving grace is getting a 4th next year from LAR. Anyone else feeling like this? 1st and 2nd rounders have to be starters. The Bears had 4 of those picks and got a TE2, WR3, OT3, and DT4, no starters unless Trapilo somehow beats out Braxton.

Practice Squad fodder until he is 30. He will be competing for a roster spot, has speed, but will be 25 this season.

Best available for today: RB - Skattebo (76), Sampson (75), Neal, Giddens, Martinez, Tuten IOL - Mbow (74), Frazier DT - Farmer (76), Robinson (74), Pegues, Walker Edge - Swinson (75), Sawyer, Ingram-Dawkins LB - Paul, Stutsman, Simon CB - Riley (74), Frazier S - Bowman, Reed, Ransom (ESPN Grades) The Bears have the 7th pick, in Round 4. I hope Sanders and a few WRs go before the Bears pick, which would give them the best possible pick at 109. There are at least 7 players rated in the top 100 (bold). If Turner is considered a DT, then DT is probably out, so RB or Edge? Skattebo, Sampson, or Swinson?

Not a bad haul. I was 0-4 on the picks though lol. Colston Loveland, TE Luther Burden, WR Ozzy Trapilo, OT Shemar Turner, DT An offense of Williams, Swift, Moore, Odunze, Burden, Kmet, Loveland is kind of insane. Kmet may end up as the Bears 5th pass catching option. I think Tyler Scott is a cut candidate, same with Pickens now that they drafted Turner. The trade down helped out a lot, the Bears got their guys and their 4th rounder back where they can go RB or S, I would assume.

I am glad Poles didn't get an itchy trigger finger and burn down his draft capital with a trade up. Now the Bears have 2 picks in the next 9 picks. I assume that Sanders will go before the Bears pick, so there will only be 6 players taken by the time the Bears pick twice. RB - Henderson, Judkins, Johnson, Skattebo WR - Higgins, Noel, Burden, Harris OT - Ersery IOL - Wilson, Savaiinaea DT - Alexander, Turner, Norman-Lott Edge - Green, Ezeiruaku, Scourton, Jackson, Tuimoloau LB - Schwesinger CB - Johnson (injury concerns), Revel, Amos S - Emmanwori, Winston, Watts The 4 players in bold have a first-round grade and Green and Johnson were both…
