McDaniels is an ass-clown for letting him leave but oh well. Bears will not go after him since it involves a change in scheme but he'd be a phenomenal hire and he is a tremendous defensive coordinator.

http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=6582 Smith lauds depth, young talent at wide receiver position By: Larry Mayer | Last Updated: 2/26/2010 6:18 PM INDIANAPOLIS – Coach Lovie Smith is excited about the continued development of the Bears’ young wide receivers and believes that they’ll thrive in new coordinator Mike Martz’s system. While some considered the position a weak link prior to the 2009 season, Devin Hester, Earl Bennett, Johnny Knox, Devin Aromashodu and Rashied Davis combined to catch 185 passes for 2,334 yards. It was the highest output by Bears receivers since they had 192 receptions in 2002 and 2,363 yards in 2001. …

Chester Taylor visiting Bears on Friday, too Posted by Mike Florio on March 5, 2010 12:48 AM ET Defensive end Julius Peppers won't be the only potential new Bears who's hanging out at Halas Hall on Friday. Running back Chester Taylor will be there, too. Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports that Taylor is expected to visit the Bears on the first day of free agency. In the Mike Martz offense, Taylor could be a Mike Martz/Priest Holmes-style weapon, given his ability to catch the ball. Except when it's squirting out of his hands, and then being intercepted and returned for a touchdown. Redskins out, Bears in for Peppers Posted by Mike…

1. Why does everyone assume Olsen won't fit with the Martz offense? We have 3 pretty good "receiving" TE's on the roster. The Martz offense typically calls for 3 WR sets. Doesn't Olsen or Dez Clark become the 3rd WR??? A typical offensive set would be QB, 5 o-linemen, RB, 2 TE's, 2 WR's. Seems like a no-brainer. 2. Manumaleuna is such a unique player, who backs him up? When we drafted Lance Louis we speculated he might become a blocking TE. Is he the guy?

lemonej brought up an interesting point during the post on the new rookies' numbers and Moore having Mike Brown's old number. And then mentioned other instances in the past... I have no problem with it. However, my thought is that if the players' number in question is in the HoF, we should retire that jersey! Ie. 99 needs to be retired NOW!

Rod Hood In High Demand Posted by Mike Florio on May 20, 2009, 1:20 p.m. The Cardinals surprisingly released cornerback Rod Hood in the days after the draft. Hood’s base salary, coupled with his potential unwillingness to accept a reserve role, contributed to his ouster in Arizona. And he has since become a hot commodity. We’re told that he has received a contract offer from the Rams, and that he’ll next be visiting the Bears. Other teams in the mix include the Lions and Browns. The Bengals are out of the picture. Hood has a connection to Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo; they both previously were in Philly together.

I opened and ran 3 FFLs last year for the Talkbears at Yahoo as I use to do at Bearstalk.. I enjoyed this very much as I have always enjoyed FF. However, this year, do to time commitments with family & job, I will be unable to run the leagues as I have in the past. I might have time to join one league but to be commish, just too much time involved for me this year. I think DrunkBomber said he ran leagues here in the past. If I am wrong, please forgive me. If he or others would like to open leagues for the forum I got an email from chitownman saying the Yahoo site is up and running (that is if you want to use Yahoo, some mentioned they would prefer other host…

Okay, so yesterday was my anniversary and my gift was a trip to wherever to see the Bears play. I was thinking that I would love to go to Lambeau to see the Bears play the Packers but would have to get tickets at face value (otherwise I'll just get tickets to a game at Soldier field). Does anyone have any clue on a good method of getting Packer tickets?

The two NFC North clashes between the Bears and Vikings Nov. 29 in Minnesota and Dec. 28 on Monday Night Football in Chicago are suddenly a whole lot more intriguing. “Anytime you play against him, the ticket requests go up,” Ogunleye said. “All of your friends want to come and watch the game. He’s just that kind of guy. When I have my own kids, I’m going to say that I played against Brett Favre.” Favre owns NFL career records with 5,720 completions, 9,280 attempts, 65,127 yards and 310 interceptions. The 39-year-old also owns the league mark for most consecutive games started by a quarterback with 269. Favre dominated the Bears for a decade before Lovie Sm…

OK, I know Cutler disappointed a lot of these fans but... Grow the f*ck up people. It wasn't just the dipshits in the stands either! The Broncos were playing this game like it was their Superbowl! Dancing around like a bunch of hopped-up leprechauns on crack with every tackle. Hey dillhole, your job is to tackle! Get over yourself! Maybe it's the lack of oxygen to the brain... Does the Broncos new head coach look like a high school kid or what? He'll either be great for them for the next 50 years or he's in WAY over his head! Did one of the goal posts look crooked to you? I swear one of them looked like it needed a level put on it! In the war …

I think we are in for a shootout our offense wont be able to keep up with. Honestly was any reciever ever open other than Olsen? Cutler moved around and was able to connect with the ever smothered Earl Bennett and Hester wasnt much better. Can these guys stay on their feet when they catch a ball? Beyond the TEs and Forte of course, its not looking good to me. And please abandone the slant on the left side of the field, yikes!! One slight hint of hope was DA getting some separation, especially in the deep pass.. 1 foot to the right and it was a perfect TD throw . Oh well. Anyone notice how hester went back to normal influencing the punts? forget the few that were ins…

Most of you know that I deliver the Chicago Tribune and while I was delivering it I saw a little headline that said Bowman to get the nod, but I didn't have time to read it so I came home and found the article. Many of us were hoping it would happen and I think this is the coaching staff saying that they aren't afraid to make changes like we thought in the past. Kudos to Lovie Smith. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,1143111.story

I have always liked him. I wanted him when I saw he was available, and was thrilled to get him. I honestly never felt he got a fair shake, as I thought he earned his playing time, but was held back as he wasn't the ideal fit for Lovie's scheme. But due to injuries, he got his playing time and kept it. IMHO, he has been our most consistent DT, and maybe most consistent DL overall. He doesn't make the big plays others do, but seems to get solid push everydown, and is maybe the biggest reason our defense began to improve against the run after Dusty went down and Adams stepped in. Anyway, there is a pretty good piece on him, from him, in the Trib, http://blogs.…
