Having been in a depressed state for 40 yrs? minus our SB appearance and 2018. The only way to be sane is to change teams, Im not doing that but it appears many of you are disgusted enough to think about it. I have always kind of liked Denver -like the state-cool uniforms-they have a great coach? I have always admired Pitt, great coach-kind of the mind set similar to Bears. in over the last 60 freaking YEARS name me ANY head coach, GM or executive that has EVER left chicago to become successful with another franchise at the job they were doing here.... This feels like a must-win against a bad team. Flus teams normally win against bad teams at home, so this should be a win and some false hope. Then the remainder of the schedule hits. If the team that has (not) shown up for the last two weeks plays the rest of the year out, the NE game may be the final win. SF is getting healthy and SEA is not terrible. I would not be surprised with a 5-12 or 6-11 end of season record. Obviously they can figure things out and a team like GB may rest starters in Week 18, so the Bears could eek out another win or two to get to 7 or 8 wins, but that seems like the absolute ceiling right now. So Brad Biggs is reporting that Eberflus may have signed a FIVE year deal, thru the 2026 season. That would mean that the Bears would have to pay him TWO years of salary to get rid of him. Please say it aint so. If they keep him after this year, and waste another year of Caleb's window, we ought to all get torches and burn Halas Hall to the ground. I thought this probably deserved it's own thread. I just wanted to note how much talk there is about replacing him from all the sportswriters and radio people. No one is holding back at all. We really crossed a threshold fast this past week. I guess people are remembering the three games he blew at the end last year too. I posted over the offseason that if the pattern repeated this year it would gain momentum fast. And conversely if we were winning, last year would be forgotten. Sure seems like that's how its working out. THe past two years forgiven until the pattern reestablishes and then there would be VERY little patience at that point.

The biggest day in the U.S. is today.......the NFL trading deadline. Poles has been one of the more active GMs of late during this period. Will he make any moves? Will the Bears be buyers or sellers? With the ravaged OLine, getting anyone to protect Caleb would be useful. I wonder if guys like Herbert or Allen will be moved?

One target in last two games (it was a catch by the way). That is absolute insanity. Waldron and offensive coaching staff is really irking me. Just like start of season where they went completely away from him…we come off the bye and the guy who catches everything thrown at him literally has 1 target in 2 games. Insane.

After climbing as high as the WC2, the Bears are outside looking in now (on the bubble), tied with LAR and SF at 4-4. The 3 WC teams at the moment are MIN 6-2, PHI 6-2, and GB 6-3. So there is already a 1.5 game gap between the Bears and the last WC spot. Just looking at the schedule, even if the Bears play decent, beat NE, then split the last 8 for a 5-4 record, that is a 9-8 record which I don't think will be enough for the playoffs. Passing GB is the only chance and GB would have to go no better than 3-5 down the stretch to finish 9-8 AND CHI would have to gain the tiebreaker against them or outright better record to tie them with 9 wins. The Bears were favorites for this game a few weeks ago, now 1 point underdogs. Arizona just beat Miami, Harrison Jr, McBride, and Conner all had huge games. This is looking like a pretty complete offense and the defense got a safety against MIA, and they only won by 1. At this point, it really is going to come down to which Bears team shows up. If it is the one that won 3 straight, the Bears should win this game handily. If it is the team that just played Washington, it is going to be tough because ARZ has some playmakers on offense. I am surprised the Bears are favored by almost a FG, which implies 5.5 pts on a neutral field. I am assuming they don't think Daniels is playing. The Bears will need to stop the run and take away McLaurin. This is going to be a tight game, probably decided by a turnover or a dumb call by the refs. I am going Bears 24-21.

The division is easily the best division in football, and the last 2 months of the season are going to be a bloodbath. The Bears have 6 division games left, GB and DET both have 5, and MIN has 4. Those games will ultimately decide the division and even some WC spots as we knock each other down in the conference standings. I am hoping the Bears can at least split with each team and go 3-3 in the division games. That would give the Bears a good shot at 10-7 and a WC spot. So we are now nearing the halfway point of the season, already had the bye, so we should have a pretty good idea about who this team is and what their identity is, especially on offense. Can someone tell me what that is? The fact that we don't know after a full offseason and two months of the regular season is worrisome. Something is wrong.

Maxx keeps getting placed to the Lions in trade rumors. Second is Chicago. My question/concern is that he seems to predominantly line up where Montez lines up. Are there any stat sites or accounting profiles that show off either can dominate from the other side?
