Probably a bad time to do this after a bad game but I have a lot of free time in Thailand. First of all as much as Nagy and Pace has a bad year but there not going anywhere. So trying to create that chaos is a waste of time. For 2020 we have 12.5 in cap space. 1. Cut Long saves us 8 mil. The rest of the line isn't going anywhere cap hits would be terrible for them. 2. At WR give ARob a new contract to reduce this years cap hit of 13 mil. ( reduce cap hit to 9 this year.)Cut Gabriel 4.5 , and Patterson to save 5 mil 3. Floyd is not a pass rusher but can play football. Due a contract of say 3 year= 27 mil with only 10 guaranteed. Saves 4 mil.…

So the Bears finished 8-8, and actually beat SI.com's prediction by a game. Football Outsiders nailed it. Sporting News had the highest projection at 11 wins. Here were some predictions: Sporting News 11-5 ESPN 10-6 CBS 9-7 Football Outsiders 8-8 SI.com 7-9 This year was a disappointment and the team was literally two plays away from finishing 10-6 (LAC and OAK games). Just think how good this team would be with a top-15 offense. They played so bad, yet won 8 games. That ultimately means we can only go up from here. With the leaner schedule next year, that should be worth at least a game and if we play better on offense, that's another two games. That…

The bears signed a CB from Canada, Tre Robinson. Considered the best CB in the CFL , the bears outbid 9 other teams. 7 ints last year.

Based on cap estimates, which I have no idea who's right. I have read they have at most is 15mil. Now they of course will redo some contracts etc. But what QB's that are free agents are still worth signing to even be a backup. And I just don't see trading for almost any of the ones available. Dalton. Foles, Newton, and maybe Carr. I just don't see any way they can improve their QB play and will be lucky to get a backup better than Daniels was. I can't believe they would sign Newton or Brady. What say you?

We've all talked about the need to add speed to our offense. At 43 there is a good chance Jonathan Taylor is on the board. He ran a 4.39 forty and that speed shows up on the field all the time. You constantly see players grabbing air. Or he just runs them over with his power. If we can't solve our QB problem, and there is little reason to be highly optimistic on either Trubisky or Foles, why not do what the Ravens did with Trent Dilfer: Run the ball behind two good RBs and let your defense do the talking. Of course Nagy will have to find a way to call a running play. I know there are concerns with run blocking but Ifedi is actually a very good run blocker. …

  7. With only 2 high picks for now , we have to figure we only get 2 potential starters at 43 -50 . What helps us the most since we added players at all of our need spots. It we draft a OT, almost anyone we would get there is going to need 1 yr of growing. Jones- Cleveland and jackson are all rated higher but could drop. Is it worth setting him down for 1 yr? Ruiz is the only IOL ranked a head of us, with bringing in IFEDI and holdovers Bars- Coward. Ruiz may start but we're doubling up on assets we have at that spot. A bigtime WR would bring added speed for our offense but may not even be a starter his first year. A RB starts out 3rd on the depth …

We have an opening in our PPR Keeper League unless Sully (CaliBears) comes out of hibernation in the next day or two. We are looking to draft between 30AUG and 06SEP. It is a 2-keeper league (don't have to keep any), the fee is $30 via Leaguesafe and the pot is $180 for 1st, $90 for 2nd, and $30 for 3rd.

The team needs to make 2021 a reset year. Get rid of Phillips, Pace, Lazor, Furrey, Ragone and Pagano at a minimum. If you keep Nagy, tell him he is the HC only and the new OC will run the offense and call plays. Do your best to purge the roster, even consider taking on dead money this year to make 2022 better. If 2021 is going to be a reset year, let Nagy coach it as his final chance. If he doesn't improve, you don't waste a year on a new coach. Cut Leno, Massie, Hicks, Skrine, and Graham. Look to trade Jackson, Fuller, and Mack. The team will probably be stuck with the boat anchors of Quinn, Foles, and Trevathan in 2021, but all will be gone in 2022. You do n…

Seen this on the internet: QB room 1 MT, Foles, and a high draft pick 2 Foles a high pick and low pick 3 FA, Foles and high draft pick. 4 MT, FA and draft pick 5 High draft pick, FA, low draft pick My interjection Sign Jamis Winston, Foles, draft pick Winston has a pick problem but is a scoring machine., Better than what we have. Keep in mind it cost Foles 10.5 in dead money to go away so he is here no matter what (my opinion)

https://dabearsblog.com/2021/zimmermanqb Found this interesting. Don't know how close to reality the values are. But based on his points I just don't see any reason the Bears should do any trading up for any QB that would be available before ten. I want them to just stay put unless one of the top four falls beyond ten or hope Jones falls to 20. Other wise draft a OL best player available at 20 and see who's there in the 2nd.

  15. So the Bears are one fo the first teams to have players vote to skip voluntary workouts. Tell me Nagy has this locker room, and these guys will give it all to win. This team is past its expiration date.

I seldom believe all that is reported in practice sessions by the coaching staff. You never hear negatives. Everything is superlative adjectives. Every player sounds like a future hall of famer. A G.O.A.T. That is until it is time to cut the roster down. However, on occasion you hear something that is factual and not subjective. I find this quote from ChicagoBears.com very encouraging in regards to J Fields progress: To me, on his first day working with the team, that's amazing!

We all know how dumb Ted Phillips is when it comes to running a football team, so we know the odds are against the firing of Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace during the season. Here's the prediction: Ryan Pace starts the job saving process, because he knows he can't get a gig anywhere else, by talking to Teddy today. After talking to Teddy, he heads to the family and grows a set of nuts to save his job. While talking to momma and George, they make the decision to fire Nagy Monday morning after a home loss to the putrid Lions. I hate to think of Pace being with the team next year, as I am fully on record against his negligence. But, if you look at it honestly, would…

With a division win against Detroit, the Bears are now 2-2, which is where most people expected them to be after 4 games. Now comes the teeth of the schedule. They need to survive this stretch and come out of it .500 to have a chance at the playoffs. They have LV, GB, TB, SF, PIT, and BAL as their next 6 games. They need to split these and win at least 3 to have a chance at the playoffs. LV, SF, and PIT seem like the best opportunities for a win. GB, TB, and BAL are going to be tough games. With that said, here is how I would rate the units for the game against the Lions: QB - A solid "B", still a few plays left on the field and a couple of chances missed. Thos…

Was hoping Fields would crush Lions and make my thanksgiving extra exciting as I get delusional over prospects of next season with a real qb entering his 2nd year in the league ready to ascend!!!

Just taking a quick run through in a draft sim (thedraftnetwork) and I run into this scenario at 37. Safety is a need and Battle at this spot is a consideration but I'm not crazy about that option because I think there will be good safeties available later in the draft. Emerson I like as a CB but if Graham plays well then this need drops a bit and then we're looking more for an inside NB talent versus someone who can play outside. You can find that type of CB later in the draft. I don't like Bell and think he'll drop after the combine because everyone catches him in all of his highlights. He's quick and shifty and I think he'll be a productive slot WR but ide…
