  1. Its good to see our star and star to be getting a jump on the season with their workouts, but look at who they are working out with!!! Johnson might has some good tips and pointers, but do you think he has anything left in the tank......aside from the OFF the field stuff http://www.csnchicago.com/bears-talk/chad-...arshall-jeffery

This short video gives a good glimpse into how Kromer coaches the oline. I have no clue about how past Oline coaches and OCs have done things but I do like Kromer's level of detail and decisiveness in how they have to do things, especially the combination blocks, my term for delayed blitzes and stunts, which I think we've really struggled with the last few years. http://www.chicagobears.com/multimedia/vid...dd-4621beb1c3ba

Thank God for the Chicago Blackhawks! Baseball in this town is just abysmal and our basketball superstar took the season off, months after he was cleared. I'm not that into other sports, Bears football is my #1 by a long shot, but hockey started being fun again when Rocky took over the team. And now, hopefully they'll win two more and we'll have another parade. It should motivate guys in other sports and on other pro teams when they see how this town celebrates a winner! If they want to be heroes and they succeed, they'll get rewarded beyond their wildest dreams in this city. And even if the Hawks don't win it all, they've been awesome and they've gotten us to b…

The Chicago Bears website has a video series called "Inside Rookie Minicamp" and today they released the 3rd episode. http://www.chicagobears.com/multimedia/vid...camp_Episode_3/ The reason for this post is that I saw two things I'd been curious about, back to back. For one I was hoping that the staff would continue Lovie's tradition of considering incomplete passes to be live balls. If you look at the video at 4:15 you can see that they are clearly doing that. I think it goes a long way toward making turnovers a cultural priority, and also practicing the mechanics of scooping up fumbles and coordinating blocking etc for runbacks. Fantastic. Then, as a…

We're only about a month away. Does anyone remember when the official schedule typically comes out? I've got some vacation days to use and always like to hit camp at least once. Weekends are nuts.

With all the talk of quick releases and it being a slow time I think its time for a little game. This guy is available right now to play QB for our Chicago Bears. With this quote taken from respected NFL mind Cris Collinsworth I want you to guess who Cris is talking about....Remember, this guy is available to play qb for our Bears.... ?????'s release will be compared to John Elway's. Dan Marino also was timed, along with Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Brett Favre. According to NFL network producer Mark Loomis, analyst Cris Collinsworth provided the inspiration for measuring the various QBs' releases. "What we've found so far is that the top quarterb…

  14. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/...utlers-release/ Trestman tries to speed up Cutler’s release Posted by Mike Florio on June 14, 2013, 10:48 PM EDT AP Sure, plenty of Jay Cutler’s 148 sacks during his time in Chicago have arisen from less-than-stellar blocking. But Cutler could have helped himself by getting rid of the ball more quickly. New coach Marc Trestman hopes to make that happen. As explained by Jeff Dickerson of ESPNChicago.com, Trestman has been using a “verbal running clock” (which may or may not have included “Mississippis”) whenever Cutler and the team’s other quarterbacks take reps in 11-on-11 or seven-on-seven dri…

Hey Guys, I'm very optimistic about our new staff and roster. I've been hoping for something like this, and it seems to me that they are doing all the right things. That said, I do expect the defense to take a step backward this year. Our "Cover 2" defense should probably be called a "One Gap" defense, since it's more about the front than the coverage behind it. Our aggressive scheme asks defensive linemen to get into their gaps and get upfield. This leaves 4 other gaps for LBs and a Safety to be responsible for. Unlike a 2 gap front, where players hold position, and linebackers roam behind like little safeties, our system thrives on upfield pressure, …

This is a bad time of the year for me,as far as the Bears go, BUT they keep making moves that has keep my interest somewhat. We will look back as this year as a GOOD new beginning or a bunch of bad decisions. New coach New OL and OC No Urlacher New blood at LB Almost a new OL Some more weapons,a quality TE He is tweaking the roster big time New offensive scheme(again) Conclusion: We have rebuilt the OL(long overdue), got some new minds to actually give us a modern NFL offense, and continually remaking the roster. I think how this turns out will take more than a year to do a proper evaluation. I think the most important thing going forward is how w…
